    Last Week of May 2024
    Himali Rural Municipality
    Bajura District
    Bajura is the poorest district of Nepal and Himali is the most underdeveloped municipality.
    We decided to provide warm track suits to each and every student of this rural municipality. Himali Rural Municipality is the biggest municipality of Bajura District, it covers nearly 45% of the whole district. We came to know that there are 22 schools in this municipality. One has to walk extensively to reach every village & school, as there are no roads.
    We met all the students of this municipality, took measurements of thousands of students. Our plan was to convince all the villagers and teachers to invest a little in the education of their male students.
    We'll provide for the girls
    They have to do it for the boys
    We packed our bags, put measuring tapes in it and started our journey from a place named Nepalgunj (Banke District) to a place named Pilichaur in Bajura District (420 Kilometers of Bus Journey 🚌)
    Pilichaur to Bandhu Village (3.8 Kilometers🚶🏻‍♂️)
    A little uphill and straight trek.
    1/22
    SHRI JANATA SECONDARY SCHOOL
    Bandhu village's school has two branches:-
    Grade 1 to 5 and Grade 6 to 10. We walked to both of them with their headmaster and took the measurements of 65 GIRLS and 56 BOYS
    2/22
    From Bandhu Village to Boldhik Village (It's nearly 14 kilometers🛻)
    We were lucky that we got a Jeep at the right time.
    SHRI CHANDIKA BASIC SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 5 {16 GIRLS and 12 BOYS}
    3/22
    Then we started moving towards a village named Dhim, it is also connected via an unpaved road. We waited for nearly 3 hours but unfortunately no vehicle came. Then at last, we walked to it.
    Boldhik to Dhim (lower), (4 kilometers of uphill trek🚶🏻‍♂️)
    SHRI BADIMALIKA SECONDARY SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 10 {153 GIRLS and 102 BOYS}
    4/22
    Dhim (Lower) to Dhim (Upper) Village
    There is a small school (1 kilometer of uphill trek🚶🏻‍♂️)
    SHRI JAN JYOTI BASIC SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 3 {33 GIRLS and 18 BOYS}
    Then for going to the next village we made a deal with a person who had a motorcycle. It was very heart breaking to see the level of greediness in the minds of villagers, they tried to charge 3-4 times than the normal price
    We went there to help their community, then also some people showed this type of behavior.
    5/22
    The next village named Pandi is situated behind a mountain.
    We went straight uphill, then completely downhill. Dhim (Upper) to Pandi Village is nearly 5 Kilometers 🏍️
    The people of this village were very sweet and helpful.
    SHRI KHOLI DANDA BASIC SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 8 {54 GIRLS And 42 BOYS}
    After meeting with all the students, and taking their measurements, the bike person brought us back to Dhim (Upper)
    Then we walked to the next village named Dhulachaur. It was a complete downhill trek.
    6/22
    Dhim (Upper) to Dhim (Lower) to Dhulachaur is 5.5 Kilometers 🚶🏻‍♂️
    Dhulachaur is the main market of Himali Rural Municipality
    SHRI BHAWANI SECONDARY SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 10 {174 GIRLS and 104 BOYS}
    7/22
    For going to the next village we again found a person who had a motorcycle. Dhulachaur to Phaiti Village 3 Kilometers of uphill route.
    SHRI SHAILESHWORI SECONDARY SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 10 {82 GIRLS and 80 BOYS}
    Year by year, summers are becoming extremely hot in the mountain regions. People of very high places have started buying electric fans.
    Now from here on we walked to all the remaining schools and villages
    8/22
    Phaiti to Borta Village (4.2 Kilometers of Uphill Trek🚶🏻‍♂️)
    The natural water tastes so good and it provides enormous strength to the heart and legs.
    SHRI NEPAL RASHTRIYA BASIC SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 8 {68 GIRLS and 46 BOYS}
    9/22
    Borta to Rugin Village (6 Kilometers of uphill & straight trek🚶🏻‍♂️) through narrow and slippery mountain routes (we also have to cross a forest)
    SHRI BAGESHWORI SECONDARY SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 10 {111 GIRLS and 83 BOYS}
    Kids were very excited to know that they are about to get new and good quality school dresses
    10/22
    Rugin to Nadapata Village (500 meters uphill trek🚶🏻‍♂️)
    SHRI MANGALMAY BASIC SCHOOL
    Grade 1 to 5 {29 GIRLS and 20 BOYS}
    While going to the next village, a good hearted person named Daan Bahadur came forward to our help. He said "the route to the next two villages is very narrow and slippery, I'll assist you". Then we started walking together. Mr Daan Bahadur also plays flute 🪈 It was beautiful ❤️
