    I really enjoyed this one Keith, I've not worked on many injection minis and those that I have have been brake/suspension related. Learning more about the step by step diagnosis was really gripping. Top work Keith

      I'm amazed how smooth it is. Up close it looks like it's spent the last 10 years at the bottom of the English channel!

      I was pretty determined to get it running one way or the other. Shame I didnt get on film when I tapped the injector because it instantly went from rough running to as smooth as silk

    Really looking forward to this series Keith. I'm going to be doing some stuff to my Touring soon so it will be nice to see what you find on your car.
    That Mini has some nice John Cooper Garages bits on it (you've probably noticed and compared it with P111 OOW already). Original Cooper Garages mats and monza fuel cap (it has grub screws on it).

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well spotted! Didnt know the floor mats or fuel cap were JCG items? I'm pretty sure the door handles etc. are JCG. It also has a stainless steel exhaust (Don't think its Janspeed but not looked properly yet), brand new K&N in the airbox too

    We had to whack the fuel pump on our Fiesta a couple of times to get it going but that one had it. It's never a good idea to let the tank drop below 1/4 as you rightly said they can seize up. Im guilty of running my tank near R a couple of times but will now make sure it never drops below 1/4. I don't want expensive repairs.

    She sounds sweet, did you look at the how many left website? I'm supprised at how low the numbers are...as I said in the previous video this one has to go back 100% factory, or at least factory options, was looking at a 1969 mini cooper, fully restored for £50k!!!! I know this isn't that old yet but one day she will be and there will be even less of them then....

    • @classicminiworkshop
      @classicminiworkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the later MPI Minis will become very rare. Purists shy away from them as they don't have a carb, are quite complex electrically and need to meet later emission standards so can be difficult to MOT if not running correctly. Later Minis also have a bad reputation for rot so to have one rust free and all running as normal is becoming a rarity
