That "TPAB is Oscar bait" tweet killed me. Even taking a few minutes to look at the layers of direct influences and references from Kendrick's childhood totally wrecks this idea.

Grime is dying out in the UK but not anywhere else. Its not popular with its target demographic anymore (working class inner city boys) and has been dying out for YEARS. Ever since Giggs dropped talkin the hardest it essentially laid the groundwork for the future generation of young British rappers and most underground rappers in the UK are Drill and UK rap and they are the people who most young people listen to these days, especially in London. To prove my point if you go on GRM Daily or Link Up TV I can guarantee you that you will find maybe one grime song out of 20. Ironically grime is far more mainstream nowadays with artists like Stormzy and Skepta and so looses its underground appeal. Grime has had short revivals and it hasn't been dead per say but its always been on the decline since 08 and the people who are carrying the genre have been BBK, Bugzy Malone and others with the only real successful breakout grime artists since 2010 have been Chip, Bugzy and Stormzy. I am telling you in raves, shoobz and most public school gatherings you will almost never hear a grime song.
Btw GRIME is not UK hip hop, they are two totally different things and have two totally different origins. Grime is essentially are darker sounding UK Garage beat with a bit of Rap influences, people were rapping on UK Garage beats before Grime with crews like So Solid, Heartless and Pay as u go cartel (who's members included a young Wiley)
Seriously? The Logic question is obviously bait, and I feel like the only reason you included it is to allow the edgelords in your subscriber base to just shitpost and meme about Logic in this depraved comment section.
sunny nah, some of logics stupidest stans actually believe that shit and either you’re a butthurt stan yourself, or you’re just a boring ass person and you wont let people make memes.
No it wasn’t. The guy who tweeted that argued that because songs like 1-800 were more accessible and applied to more people he could reach a wider audience than Kendrick. Which is a gross confusion between ‘influential’ and ‘widespread’. When Logic’s career is over no one will care about his music, Kendrick will continue to be a figure in hip hop for at least the 20 years
The strokes only good song is the reptile one and that could have been made into and EP with those kick ass riffs but I’ve never heard LCD so no say hope its better than the strokes

DarkAceGaming skill wise, in terms of flow and wordplay, yes. Logic's subject matter can get pretty preachy and repetitive tho. I prefer Kanye's subject matter and actual lyrics, on albums like college Dropout and MBDTF.
toxic howl Because they're fans? A fan of anything will immediately place their favorite near the top of any list. Regardless of logic. and Thats not what overrated is. Overrated means Media and Mainstream success and Praise. Getting more credit than they deserve. Getting awards for mediocrity etc. Ed Sheeran is mediocre and highly overrated.
TallicaMan1986 I never said he's overrated because he has fans. I'm saying he's overrated because his fans praise him too much and act like he's the first person to do everything in hip hop. Best switches Flow switches samples. And then when another artist does it they say they copied it.
xoxaine deezy I consider Emo rap to be hip hop with a lyrical content that focuses more on well emotion, but not Drake-esque, like topics of depression, insecurity, suicide. As you said, Peep had more emo-punk-pop in his music, well there's already a lane for that in Rock, but for hip hop so I feel Cudi gave emo rap and feelings of melancholy in rap an anchor, an aesthetic, and a more identifiable formula. I would use his presence throughout 808's and heartbreak as an example and especially "Welcome to Heartbreak" and album cuts like "These Worries ft. Mary J. Blige"
my friend is obsessed with both death grips and kero kero bonito so that one tweet made me laugh, cause its true. i love lil peep but he didnt start emo rap. he did, however, do it in a very good way, where it was both true to himself and had elements of more popular areas of music and aesthetic, and it definitely made emo rap accessible to way more people. and its influenced a whole new era of up and coming rappers. his legacy is a good one. and no way is grime rap dying, drake is signed with the BBK label and had skepta and giggs on more life, stormzy has new music out, and its been super influential in rap, and i only see it getting bigger from here.
mostly everyone who says negative shit about OF has clearly never dived into every mixtape they have dropped. i’m tired of commercial consumers boasting like they state “facts” when most of you never even heard the first OF tape let alone any of they’re old shit. all of OF have so much talent when it comes to production and word play. i mean fuck listen to earls first mixtape (not kitchen cutlery) and tell me you don’t fuck with it. i’d have a hard time believing anyone who says Earl is bad. i mean i understand opinions are just opinions and i’m not angry at all. but you people really think OF is bad? look deeper
"Hip hop is indeed as punk as punk rock" Interesting. Not saying this person is wrong, but its weird that punk rock and hip hop are almost the same age. It's almost like the rock crowd and the r and b/soul crowd each having their own form of rebellion at the same time

MC Ride wasn’t a tender lover. He pumped and pumped until finally, in euphoria, he came inside of Anthony’s butt. He withdrew, exhausted, and laid down next to Anthony, who had reached orgasm as well.
“H-how was it?” Asked Stefan.
“you’re good…” Whispered Anthony. Whispered Anthony. “I liked your lovemaking. I would give you a strong six, light seven.”
WHAT THE FUCK?!
I have never craved pouring bleach into my eyes more than right now

Fact: Logic is more biracial than Kendrick.
BTW, did you know Logic is biracial?
Wow, that's some huge information! Did you know about Logic being biracial?
mariokarter13 nah but did you know logic was biracial
Wow did you guys know that all of you are still virgins for using a dead joke. 😮
Braydon Harris aight that makes 2 of us
Braydon Harris the first thing I see on your channel is a playlist w a J cole song on it and your background photo of the Eagles, your opinion doesn’t count
Who can relate? WOO!
Alex Frania probably not you
psyckojoe lol laughed more than I should
This was intentionally out of place so it stands out so that suicidal people say “oh shit I can relate”
logic fans think hes relatable cuz he said "who can relate WOO"
Cozy Vlogs L
god I thought that that song might have been kinda good and then he just fucking throws that in there and fucking ruins it
no L
Cozy Vlogs lol you only heard that song?
Cozy Vlogs My little cousin could’ve wrote better lyrics: “ I just wanna die” WOW MUCH DEEP VERY SUBTLE
Kkb and Death grips definitely occupy the same niche
Grime is essentially are darker sounding UK Garage beat with a bit of Rap influences, people were rapping on UK Garage beats before Grime with crews like So Solid, Heartless and Pay as u go cartel (who's members included a young Wiley)
essentially Grime came from Garage and is classified as EDM, its not Hip Hop.
true dat no ones making grime anymore it’s all roadman drill
swear not one grime tune last year ever got any youts gassed, I didn't hear a single yout playing any grime shit on road, all drill and trap
he predicted pop smoke
Your hair grows really fast.
When i saw the title i imagined how anthony will react to that question. He did it exactly how i imagined it
Fantano’s comment section is cancer. Music is seldom discussed here. Only corny memes
Fantano's audience doesn't need to discuss the music - we have our overlord to tell us exactly what to think. all that's left for us is the memes.
Thus: the only music commentary comes from the enraged fans who argue with their guru's rating, and the Damn. memes as parody.
No it wasn’t. The guy who tweeted that argued that because songs like 1-800 were more accessible and applied to more people he could reach a wider audience than Kendrick. Which is a gross confusion between ‘influential’ and ‘widespread’. When Logic’s career is over no one will care about his music, Kendrick will continue to be a figure in hip hop for at least the 20 years
i think the strokes were better than LCD soundsystem when it comes to early 2000’s New York music
niko johnson LCD Soundsystem are better
The strokes only good song is the reptile one and that could have been made into and EP with those kick ass riffs but I’ve never heard LCD so no say hope its better than the strokes
@@hamburgerdan101 this is the most ignorant comment I've seen lol, their whole first album has good songs on it
I agree. The strokes are the last final dying light of pure rock music. LCD are cool but too edgy and corny at points aswell as not really that rock.
The stokes are 20x better than lcd soundsystem who are so meh sorry
ice t likes one of my tweets and fantano agrees with another on camera
it's been a good week
only liked your comment for bernard pic. but good comparison too

Lunarimoths lame
I like logic but god I really couldn’t stand EVERYBODY. He could have done better.
Avery Garrett i agree... his new album sucks
i couldn’t stand any music he released after under pressure
Kanye more influential than both of them combined.
DarkAceGaming skill wise, in terms of flow and wordplay, yes. Logic's subject matter can get pretty preachy and repetitive tho. I prefer Kanye's subject matter and actual lyrics, on albums like college Dropout and MBDTF.
Nehemiah Franklin and kanye doesnt?? Kanye has a lot of corny lines and moments just like Logic
Ohhh have you seen kanye now?
He's political opinion doesn't matter, Kanye still one of the Goats, ye don't have even 1 bad album, Logic have like 2 already lol
Jeeses99 Kanye ain’t no where near the rapper kendrick is, but as an artist. He is one of the best of all time
You seem happy in this one melon.
I like it
Gucci Gang is basically a rap version of Beat on the Brat by The Ramones

DeadlyJedly, I couldn't follow with your esoteric musical tatse

To pimp a butterfly is overrated? Sir lose you're hearing
To Pimp A Butterfly is underrated and gets too much hate for an expiramenta album it is a masterpiece
@@lxrdbrsrk8057 literally no one hates on TPAB. Its not bad at all but is wildy overrated
i winner if 'lose your hearing' is a statement about what a majority of society will do or whether that's just you.
*wonder
Damn, has it been over a year since this video's upload? Time flies.
Damn it's been nearly 2 1/2 years?

Sorry, I only listen to biracial.
leounn did you know that logic is biracial
wait, really? i thought he was biracial
Where was he from again??
I started to laugh so hard when I read the title
Favorite type of videos from you ever melon next to maybe Worst to Best. Keep it up fantano
Logic will never be a better rapper then kendrick in his life
Kendrick is hella overrated. He has way too many dickriders.
He isn't over rated. He's easily top 30.
TallicaMan1986
He's overrated.
His fans act like he's in the top 5.
toxic howl Because they're fans? A fan of anything will immediately place their favorite near the top of any list. Regardless of logic.
and Thats not what overrated is. Overrated means Media and Mainstream success and Praise. Getting more credit than they deserve. Getting awards for mediocrity etc. Ed Sheeran is mediocre and highly overrated.
TallicaMan1986
I never said he's overrated because he has fans. I'm saying he's overrated because his fans praise him too much and act like he's the first person to do everything in hip hop.
Best switches
Flow switches samples.
And then when another artist does it they say they copied it.
Kero Kero Bonito did a cover of I've Seen Footage and it's the best thing I swear
You didn't have to call both Logic and Kendrick the 'n' word melon.
I laughed way too much with this.
you're right. logic is only half an n word
You finally mentioned Sadistik... been waiting forever, man. He's my favorite

if you call grime, 'grime rap', then you're in no position to comment on the genre, let's be honest
english thug rap*
Brad Maxwell fuck off
fuck your garbage genre kid
Dafuq is grime???
Grime rap sucks
joe budden is definetely the emo rap pioneer. lil peep after
seby theboss Nah not all of it
I would say Cudi because he started before peep and actually had an impact
xoxaine deezy I consider Emo rap to be hip hop with a lyrical content that focuses more on well emotion, but not Drake-esque, like topics of depression, insecurity, suicide. Mary J. Blige"
I would say Slug/Atmosphere pioneered modern emo rap. Not to mention early Eminem. Kid Cudi to an extent also.
Slug is also biracial but you don't hear him complaining about it all the time
Eminem was way too goody to be emo
eminem is an emo rapper now huh 😂
The song 'Everybody' blatantly rips 'Alright', BPM Setting, Flow and Beat
my friend is obsessed with both death grips and kero kero bonito so that one tweet made me laugh, cause its true. i love lil peep but he didnt start emo rap. he did, however, do it in a very good way, where it was both true to himself and had elements of more popular areas of music and aesthetic, and it definitely made emo rap accessible to way more people. and its influenced a whole new era of up and coming rappers. his legacy is a good one. and no way is grime rap dying, drake is signed with the BBK label and had skepta and giggs on more life, stormzy has new music out, and its been super influential in rap, and i only see it getting bigger from here.
ok but did you just say neither Odd Future nor the Sex Pistols were good music projects lol
yes
Joshua Jordan yes
Joshua Jordan what’s wrong with stating facts?
Don’t listen to them they wildin OF for life
mostly everyone who says negative shit about OF has clearly never dived into every mixtape they have dropped.
i’m tired of commercial consumers boasting like they state “facts” when most of you never even heard the first OF tape let alone any of they’re old shit.
all of OF have so much talent when it comes to production and word play.
i mean fuck listen to earls first mixtape (not kitchen cutlery)
and tell me you don’t fuck with it.
i’d have a hard time believing anyone who says Earl is bad.
i mean i understand opinions are just opinions and i’m not angry at all.
but you people really think OF is bad?
look deeper

Did you guys know that logic is biracial

The melon be looking like Guido Mista from Vento Aureo
holy shit, lol
Is Melon trying to tell us Part 5 is confirmed??????
Kendrick influenced the whole Smino, Saba, Noname area of rap. Without Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst they wouldn’t have their sound.
Where the frick is the bass intro, Shmanthony Shmantano?
Frick
Smh at the TPAB is overrated one
It is overrated though, hip hop doesn't give af about it...only hipster critics and uptight elitists.
Zoe Longway The culture does give a shit, you just aren't in the culture to know how much it's well respected.
Exactly a majority loves it and considers it a masterpiece
not really tbh itys talked about alot and is considered a classic
Zoe Longway LOL
Logic is a biracial cornball.
Petty Wap33 4eva is a mighty melon time.
Christian Rogers hold this W lol

But did you know that Logic is actually half black AND half white?
Karmen Võ Doesn't that mean he is biracial???
I really enjoy this segment fannytanny!! please keep it part of the channel!!!

Logic is milatto. Did you guys know that
That Odd Future comment has me dying over here

Thanks melon. You in the background talking makes studying a lot easier for me, seriously
Afrika Bambaataa certainly indeed straddled both worlds, his own and those young boys'.
Eyedea was here too.
Peanut Butter Pikachu He talks about Eyedea????
YouthInAsia no, I was mentioning eyedea as an emo rapper. By here, I mean in the rap game.
anyone else feel these r too short?? make em like 20 min bro since they don’t come out often
"Hip hop is indeed as punk as punk rock"
Interesting. Not saying this person is wrong, but its weird that punk rock and hip hop are almost the same age. It's almost like the rock crowd and the r and b/soul crowd each having their own form of rebellion at the same time
Melon, you need to do more of these! I loved it!
As an Odd Future fan, the take about not being a good music project hurts because it’s so true.
