It's worth adding that I've spoken to AMD and sent them all my data on this, especially since Pixio are using AMD branding while not adhering to the spec. AMD are looking into it, and said people should check their site for verified Freesync monitors: www.amd.com/en/products/freesync-monitors
Good on you for exposing BS in the industry. You came on to my radar a few years back, when Gamers Nexus mentioned you about the shady shit that MSI was trying to pull on you. Been subbed ever since, and you did not disappoint! You've always been on the level, from my point of view. We need folks like you out there keeping these companies in check. Also, good to see you worked with Wendell. He's such a great guy. Super smart, and quite funny too, albeit a bit cheesy! Have a great day, Sir! o7
One of the issues is that the average Joe consumer won't have this method of testing such statistics and the company (or companies, as we both know very well that other companies are guilty of such things also) will rely heavily on the fact that they simply won't see the results. Reality is that a few milliseconds is not something that the human eye can capture so it would be almost impossible for a human to realise the reality just from viewing it with their own eyes. A brilliant video highlighting a very real problem, very well found and documented buddy! The osrtt is proving an absolutely invaluable and in reality an absolutely essential tool!
Hopefully I (and the load of people who've bought units from me) can help expose these sorts of issues and push for accountability and better products for everyone.
First response times, now FreeSync… at what point does false/misleading advertising actually have consequences? Looking forward to more videos of displays getting called out by OSRTT!
Well actually this review must have had an impact. Pixio has removed all mention of AMD freesync support and any sort of freesync support in general from their website for this monitor. I spoke with customer support and linked this review. It also never showed support for AMD freesync Premium in software as other monitors that are certified do. I doubt they can get VRR support to work properly at this point. Other than that this is a great VA panel for the price. Less smearing than the Dells. Would you say their buffer with low overdrive adds more or less lag then just enabling vsync in game?
It's not something I generally think to check, but I think I'll be doing my best to check that in future. It might be worth doing a follow up video too, will see how the testing goes!
Great to see more honest reviewers calling out the BS the pc industry ….. especially monitor manufacturers on their shady and shoddy practices and made up marketing claims. Great work once again TechTeamGB GB 🥰😇💪👍
Is there a reason why we never see PotatoMcWhiskey, Pedro Pascal & TechTeamGB in the same room? There's way too much similarity going on here. I am kinda glad I veered away from VA for my 1440p 165Hz displays & bought IPS instead. Also, I have one of those lovely Logitech G15 Rev 1 keyboards, best keyboard I ever bought, just need to replace the screen cable & it'll be as good as new.
That's very interesting. But may be those curves in the graphs are due to PWM flickering and not necessarily for the FPS. Samsung monitor also had such issue with PWM dimming and they showed similar behavior.

Wendell is an amazing source of knowledge and wisdom. Endlessly humble too. Speaking of, thank you for the kind words!
Me too, found this channel after MSIs nonsense. Great content here.

We're definitely going to need a follow up on this one!

help, I'm thinking whether to buy it, since I have a 4070 and that monitor is not compatible with g sync I think :'c
now THIS is concerning, makes you wonder just how many of these 3rd tier branded monitors faking FreeSync

Yikes, i do wonder if its malice or incompetence
I'll pay money for that logitech g15 keyboard in the background... I LOVED my g15 back in the day.
poderia disponibilizar o perfil ICC deste monitor??? tanks
did you actually select gsync as refreshing method in the 3d settings ?? your 3d setting may be forcing fixed refresh rate

It would still be bad
@@IIARROWS but then it wouldn't be the issue with VRR or FreeSync which is the main highlight of the video.
it works i was able to get a sezure after every frame 😀
You got a sample with a defective adaptive sync module, and instead of reporting the problem to Pixio you reported it to AMD?
Come on man....
I thought only Gsync had dedicated modules
@@maxbailey8074 All monitors with adaptive sync have hardware which makes VRR work, even if they don't have an actual g-sync module
