@@Biddybalboaim in nursing skool to be a rn, ik the payout can be good but i feel miserable while doing it. When i was an assistant tech/handyman for my uncle I enjoyed it and was happy in the work i was producing. He offered me to be apart of their new travel technician program that offers alot of promotions and incentives. I feel like this would be my next step in life. I hope im right
They don't give you guys the B9 outdoor boxes? I know those are outdoor fittings but i've seen water damage in those areas with them. That's why our sup & boss would have us install those and replace drops or outside cables with splices. They ususally only wanted the splitters in that box to keep future diagnosis simpler instead of taking short cuts.
I was a contractor for Comcast. I was on the construction side. Kind of miss the work, but definitely don't miss burying drops. I was doing warm housing at the end which really sucked.
Yep, one foot at a time just do it and don't look down until you're comfortable with heights. The first 2 times I was scared but now I don't mind climbing it, just carrying it.
A few weeks in, most I've done in a day is 10. the most experienced guys do insane numbers sometimes like 20's and 30's during the fall rush I don't even know how that's possible. Yesterday I did 6, I was on a roll and then I hit a "wall" which is what I call a job that takes up a bunch of time for one reason or another.
I've been a cable technician for 13 years and u put me to shame young tech back in 2007 it was alot easier to be a technician now all this new technology make it more time consuming
Moca filter facing the wrong way. Don't install house boxes? Did you check for voltage when you got up the pole? Good practice to change old terminators at tap. Also all new fittings at tap. good content
Which part of the video was the moca filter the wrong way? also in my region North East Massachusetts house boxes are not required I also check for voltage every time I climb the pole just don’t put it on video but I should👍🏾
Jacob Wade right now I’m with Xfinity but before I was with cox communications And with both companies that’s how we put on the moca filters from the house in Or at the main splitter in the house
Jacob Wade lol that is...idk I guess every region is different when I worked for Cox in Louisiana which is where I am originally from they did different things then the Cox company in Rhode Island it was weird 😂
does xfiniity usually install them ? at optimum we've never had a house box. just ground block , was missing drip loop or extra slack at groundblock on the 11
I can appreciate the great attitude and great craftsmanship!!!

Appreciate that bro 💪🏾💪🏾💯 glad you enjoy the content I definitely got more on the way
👍🏻for work ethic. This man will be CEO one day even if he had no degree. God will make a way.
Former time Warner cable tech. What’s your total repair time allocation? We had to have like 10-15 calls a day as well as 3-5 sales IIRC.

Great video been thinking about being a cable tech rather then college thanks for the insight.
I'd say go to college if you want to go for something serious. This job is alright and pays decent but I think after a few years I'll want out.
It's a cool job to get your feet wet definitely. You learn a lot skills and people skills.

Why don’t you used a safety harness?
Why didn’t you add a house box to house the ground block connections
Tech in training here. Haven’t had to use the ladder yet. Any tips on getting over fear of heights?
Yep, one foot at a time just do it and don't look down until you're comfortable with heights. The first 2 times I was scared but now I don't mind climbing it, just carrying it.
Trust in your safety belt. Don’t get complacent. I’m a cable guy and had a fear of heights, just be safe and trust in your equipment. Good luck.
Thanks guys you’re both absolutely right. I got over it after a few times now the only thing that sucks is carrying it
You should join the IBEW. Be an inside wireman
Is it better to connect to tap first or the house when running a drop
Tap first
Kudos to you comcast guy did mine didnt ground mine I had to my self
Let’s gooooo!!!! episode 5 is out!!!!!!!!
Eric Schlaeg yes sir hope you enjoy it bro 💯
