    You needed to rinse the zeolite sand before adding it to your filter.
    Had you rinsed it in big bucket till the water runs clear, then add it into the filter you'd not have the issue. Zeolite will cloud your pool. They say backwash after adding zeolite to clean it, but you can skip that step if you pre-rinse it.

    I noticed that the rubber gasket from your backwash opening was missing which means you lost one of the other gaskets before and use that one to replace it, I did the same. That also explains why you were so adamant about not losing those gasket LOL

    Great video I’ve had three ag pools .. and two sand pumps .. switching back from the Clorox brand your referring to to the regular pump calls for as well … third pool is the coleman brand ( which is made by best way but all fittings fit intex or vice versa)

    I have same sand filter. 2nd yr. but this year,sand is getting into my 6 way valve assembly, it is stuck in filter mode. took it apart, cleaned it, replaced with new sand, and now it's stuck again. I can't turn it. any suggestions why sand is collecting under the valve? filter worked perfect last summer. thanks for any info.

    question!! The little black cap on the air valve coming from the pump on the pool...do we need to have that on? We have had the pool for about a month now and don't have it on. I've searched online for an answer but no luck. Thanks!!

    • @axelruntschke
      @axelruntschke  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup! Just to settle everything in its place and wash out the very tiny particles you don't needs. 45 seconds of backwash, 45 seconds of rinse and you're good to go.

  • @6FigureJam
    @6FigureJam 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. So to be clear: I understand you are switching back to the 50lbs of sand but my question is did the 25lbs of the zeolite product come up to the fill line?

    • @axelruntschke

      It did not. I ended up using closer to 30 pounds of Zeolite.
