given the depth of warhammer 40k you could definitely pass strange armor the space marines wear as being lost patterns of power armor or modified armor love the video Great job!
Bravo on not only nailling the 40k dark fantasy/sci-fi, but also getting images that look like they would be actual practical effect and props from the 80's. Simply amazing
To the creator of these videos, I never comment on you tube videos. But I am a child of the 90's and grew up watching weird old sci fi and fantasy stuff that had a huuuuge influence on me. I have been a 40k fan for over two decades now and these videos are so great. Its hard to put into words just how much I love every image, how much nostalgia and inspiration I get every time I watch one of these vids. I paint and collect 40k miniatures and immerse myself in the lore. And these images are so inspiring to me I will definitely use them as fuel for some of my own creations. Thank you so much for these gifts.
This what I would imagine Warhammer 40k in a real-life setting would be like. Very individually stylized but the still uniform to a certain pattern or homeworld or forgeworld. Everything for the normal humans looks great but the only thing to add on for the space marines would be their size. Bulk of those guys up and give them weapons twice their size and then yeah basically
I think its down to the eras ideas of the future. they always made the fututre quite crazy and random almost apocalyptic. whereas these days we do similair to the 60s where verything is sleek smooth lines.
@@casbienbarr In a way our scifi got more realistic as time went on. Not necessarly in the way of what technology is depicted, but how it is depicted. There is so much less handwaving going on. The things we see are much more functional and how something would probably ectually be build. In a way it was actually the 80`s that got us here. The 80´s was basically the beginning of the end of this over the top weird style. With movies like Star Wars, Bladerunner, Alien and Terminator neginning a grounding in what appears to be more realistic.
This is great. Dark Eldar definitely look in place with the dark 80’s theme, and Marines look different, but great in 80’s themed power armor. Would definitely like to see more factions.
A bunch of these are pretty close to something John Blanche might draw. His style is a lot more baroque and, uh, "smudgier" than most of the other artists GW tend to use.
Amazing! These look like real screenshots from a real movie. If someone told me some of these where from an abandoned film I would have believed them. The depth of perception and shadow quality along with how it looks like actual costumes. Kudos.
This is my new favorite depiction of 40k. Feels more like the 40k in my head than most of the stuff GW is putting out these days. How did you make these images? AI generators and photoshop?
There's something about this that strikes me, as well. Like the cinematography of episode 7 (The Viewing) of Guillermo del Toro's "Cabinet of Curiosities" on Netflix. Wasn't too fussed about the rest of the series, but the grainy 70-80s style camera work and contrast was really gorgeous... To see 40k like that would be unreal.
Dude I simply love this! As a huge WH40k fan I simply am astonished. These images would fit lore videos so well adding a touch of realism and darkness that is often missing in fan arts pieces. Keep up the good work!
Ive been obsessed with this trend lately, it is very esthetically pleasing being a kid who was raised on 80s movies..... this should be the box art and advertising...... I don't even play 40k but this has me interested
I actually like that the space marines don't always look the same it makes them more unique in the vast lore and space of 40k. It creates more characteristic for each one of them kinda like how people kitbash warhammer units
Fantastic work! It really breathes the '80 style. Breathtaking. This would have been a monstrously expensive undertaking should this have been taken up. Would love to see your take on the Sisters of Battle. 🥰
I wonder if it'd be possible to get the AI to spit out 3d meshes of what it dreams up. So a production could be made with reasonably cheap 3d printed outfits, etc.
Holy cow, that Armor and Helmet design at 1:41 !? NGL, when I first was introduced to Warhammer and heard about the Iron Warriors, I expected them to look something like this for some reason, but was surprised they didn't.
I like how a lot of the important looking characters have open face helmets. Considering that if there was a 40k movie in the 80s, they would probably have had open face helmets to allow actors' expressions to show, so it makes perfect sense.
I am amazed at the quality of these images. They are like publicity shots for a real film. I would like to see the same done for a 30k setting. Proper techno Barbarian stuff
Its the details that get me. Look at all the older architecture we have where every square inch has detail, care and attention imbued into it. It turns each image into a window to another lived in, breathing world. It lights my imagination on fire. You can see the 40k millenniums of history in each suit of armor.
