Thanks for the kind words of my tutorials, but I do not know how those work. I have never experimented with those. However, the hammer help file is actually really useful so I would suggest looking in there for the entity guide.
i have been hitting the dreaed Alloc bloc full error. Iknow scale up textures seem to fix it . So if get new textures with big size say 256-512 then i will not have scale textures up so much. Is that going to help any ideas

FINALLY A GOLDSRC MAPPER !!!anyway,i would like to ask how the func_plat and func_platrot entities work...i've been mapping 5 years now and i know every single entity exept from these two...and btw u could make it so that the first and second floor button is the same entity,u could make the elevator a func_door and set lip and toggle flag so it behaves like a train and the way you clipped the floor was not that efficient...thats all i gotta say, great tutorial really helpful for starters and bye
func_plat is a moving platform entity that is supposed to behave like a func_door func_platrot is a moving platform entity that is supposed to behave like a func_door but also rotate around a selected axis (default is z) while moving. thats more or less what it says but i never managed to get them working the right way. it is like explaining the theory but that doesn't help u in anything. platrot would be like a func_door_rotating parented to a func_door since parenting is impossible in goldsrc.

it's the same, but it goes horizontal. Also you can add some controls for the train.

Also, remember that you need to use path corners, as "Stops". The train wont stop, but it can change directions.
