Another entertaining and informative video from you! Those who commented that you need to live life a little are absolutely wrong because I don't see you as suffering to save, especially when you do travel 2 to 3 times annually. Just one word on the Tuas Power, actually many people are not aware that SP Services has a Wholesale Plan and that is the cheapest electricity plan in the whole market. As for your broadband, many people do not know that having a 1Gbps plan is actually the same as a 100mbps plan, so you did good with your inexpensive plan. I know I will get blasted for this statement but I've done my research on this and have tested this out myself. Anw, great work on saving and investing and do treasure the fact that you are lucky to have partner who has the same spending habits and early retirement goal as you. It would be impossible to embark on your plan had your partner been someone that has a different concept on growing wealth.

Hi, I still think u missed the biggest spending which is your monthly instalment of your place. Why not share your opinion with HDB and private properties over the long run? I still see way more value in private due to the current system in Singapore. Most old private properties can be/ have enbloc n resold to another developer (take Normanton park & many others) while HDB can't enbloc n sell to another developer. Unless there is more SERS it doesn't make sense in a long run to stay in HDB where ur monthly instalment is an expense and not an investment.
Hm, i view my house as a place to stay and not as an investment. Will most young adults be able to afford a private property at the start? What's the rate of return for a private property versus the stock market? I do agree with u that private property value will appreciate in value almost all the time, so if they can afford it, they can try this method
It should be viewed as both if u own a private property. The loan interest & mcst fee should be an expense while the principal should be viewed as investment. HDB I am really not sure. If u plan to stay for long till u retire then it should be viewed as an expense. If you are planning to move out after 5 years mop and ur hdb is new then probably the same may apply. If u view this way maybe u will change your thinking to define what is an expense and what is an investment. Even throwing everything to stock market, the Singapore stock market has very mixed returns historically. If u want more certain returns then US maybe the place however there is forex risk. Whatever paper gain u may have can be eliminated by the USDSGD rate which is now a all time low at 1.32. My view is invest in both. Private property-which investment tool allows u to borrow 75% of the investment ?
Lol if u agree with me then retiring in the next 10 years unfortunately looks quite impossible in SG. I understand that there are a lot of FIRE movt out there. However in the States, they can get 100k-200k freehold houses we can't. Their eat in vs eat out difference is much bigger due to their wages etc. We can get hawker food at prices they can't. If u can retire in the next 10 years, this means u need to pay off ur hdb flat by then because there is no expense in an elderly Singaporean because they paid out their flat and have say 400k each to get about 1.6k each forever... If u sold off ur hdb and buy private, u need to clear off the private loan then u can retire by slowly downgrading ur property in stages (exec 5 rm 4 rm 3rm) to get that encashment.

@@KelvinLearnsInvesting you might wanna include that as this doesn’t seem to really paint the full month expenditure. Spending $X on oneself and household is just an absolute amount. Again, yr income may be, for example $2k per month or $10k per month. There is a material difference in terms of percentage towards savings/investments. Whilst I understand that income is a very personal matter, sharing a ballpark percentage towards your savings will be helpful.
@@eugenekoh1760 The tax is actually a really small monthly amount, in only 100-200, plus there's tax rebate on and off. So i really consider it as negligible. The savings % doesn't matter, even if i earn 5x the amount, the spending won't change much. I know your point that its easier to invest/save when income is higher, but it really plays both ways. There are lots of rich people who have little savings, and poor people who have a lot of savings. So just try to increase your income whenever possible, and spend prudently

While I agree on a term insurance and investing the rest, it should not be in full. Whole life has 1 key advantage over term. The policy that u signed is for ur whole life. Term keeps changing and the key reason for the changes are mainly due to people's claims hence their policies get more refined. What's defined as cancer 30 yrs ago is different from now. I am interested to know which credit card you are using to pay for insurance premium. Many card has excluded such payment for cash back
Ah, you are right, another viewer just pointed out my mistake, the credit card no longer count insurance and town council for cashback. My apologies
So... What is the total ah?
Between $1k-$2k i think
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting love your humor!
10 thumbs up!!
Hi kelvin I'm at level 25 haha will aim to level up well with your advice!!!!!!
Yeah.... waited a week for this. 😀
Enjoy!
Once got kids, expenses will sort of balloon up. That is what happen to me. So need to get the passive up way before that. Regretted to have spent a lot in my 20s and early 30s then.
Awesome
Can you Share more tips on budget planning ?
hi kelvin, what is a town council bill?
Ah, there are fees for maintaining cleanliness and stuff at hdb
Hi Kelvin , Appreciate and like your videos. Can you make a video on what is the best way / cost effective wat to invest SRS money. It seems like we can't buy ETFs directly using SRS (correct me if I am wrong)
use endowus
@@jeffinvests7729 Thanks Jeff. Will take a look.
How will you rate it in comparison with DollerDax. Both seem to offer unit trust only and not ETF. Endowus also have 0.4 % annual charge. Kindly guide.
@@saurabhsouran8138 you can look for stashaway, higher managemetn fee. but invested in etf

lol, u made me feel so bad about my expenses on food :P
Good one as usual. Who is your internet provider and What is the package. Seems, too cheap 😇
M1 500mb :D
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting is the speed good enough. I pay S$57+ on Sinktel 2gb. My son always complain speed not enough for his games... 😢
@@yenvee9922 I tried both 500mb and 1gb, didn't had any difference. Only heavy thing i done was streaming movies. So, I'm not really sure about online games. One other thing you can do is use an open dns to increase your internet speed: www.komando.com/tech-tips/change-this-one-setting-to-get-faster-internet-speeds/378631/
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting oh, great idea. Thanks. I shall check this out.🙏
biz idea : sell to us your raspberry pi that has 2000+ games.. you already have one, im sure u can repeat and produce more of the exact same raspberry pi..
Any plan for kids😊
Done that haha
Accommodation?
I own an HDB, currently paying loan via CPF money
Tax? It’s not accounted for
Ah yea, u r right. The tax i normally set a giro so i didnt remember to include it
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting you might wanna include that as this doesn’t seem to really paint the full month expenditure.
So just try to increase your income whenever possible, and spend prudently
will u be buying tesla (car) bro
I made a video to answer your question haha: th-cam.com/video/LnHnsRGj2Ls/w-d-xo.html

@@KelvinLearnsInvesting like yr thoughts abt palantir nndm aqb upcoming airbnb
@@freddyong504 Hmm... most of it i am not familiar, so can't really comment on it. PLTR should be a stable stock long term because of government projects. But its stock price is being launched to mars now.
Airbnb I'm avoiding because stocks tend to be overpriced for IPO.
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting hahhaa u could make a video abt it. I think alot ppl will be interested hahaa
Much of my salary in Singapore goes to home rent. And rest of them are pretty same like yours.
raspberry pi tutorial? :D
funny ....honest... educational joker
Low key rich man hahah
My insurance and internet (also M1) also about the same price as urs.
Hence the term that u get may not cover the illness especially ur illness most likely is 30 yrs later while your life policy has a good chance of being covered...given all your young age.
Hence its still better to have both
Omgosh im totally like you.
Haha, do u have tips for me?
Change to GIGA bro, $18 a mth for 50gb

I'm here if you change your mind 😂
Omg your life style 🤭, life is not for living with money and retirement early, I’m happy if retire at 55~65. Cause if retire too early your life will become blank without any target anymore. My monthly spending around $4k for whole family with car.
I finally found someone that's a bigger cheapo than me hahaha
Hahaha
Hi Kelvin, really hearten to see a frugal fellow young man like you - would be interesting if you can provide some breakdown of entertainment expenses in the equation? as it is the largest variable cost of living in Singapore that is subjective? Thank you
I lost it at 7:44 savage
