Thanks very much for this one. When I saw budget urza, I started to laugh becase the card is so expensive that it would take a lot from the budget. But with 400 there is space
Could you maybe do something like an Upgrade guide, which Card should be replaced with which card to Keep the deck functional when you're slowly upgrading it to a non Budget Version.
I was wondering if you can update the link for this as the link does not work. I was trying to get a basis for my budget urea deck. Thank you for your content!
sorry but i don't understand how that combo works exacly... you have 2 artifacts in play with tyrant.. now you cast the spell and return one of artifacts into your hand, next you cast this artfiact and return another one (ok, i see infinite mana but.. ) ... so how do I return opp permaments if i am returning my artifacts all the time when i have only one bounce target?
From infinitmana you start activating Urza and cast your deck. And from all the cards you cast you return lands and everything your opponents have. If you have 50 none land cards in your deck you will most likly return everything your opponents have. But there is a capzise in the deck. So you cast it and pay the buyback cost. Now you can return and recast urza to generat infinit tokens. You pass turn where your opponents don't have anything in play. You get a new turn with infinit tokens and win.
This is a really powerful budget deck ... I wonder how much you have to struggle against removal with Urza? I have a friend who plays some competitive decks and he warned me that Urza will be a neon target for a lot of games and there's not a lot of ramp here outside Urza. Anyhow, love this deck and will be building this or something close next chance I get : )
I think I'll definitely try it, but I'm not convinced it'll make the cut. It's a creatureless deck, so I imagine it may be hard to protect. Additionally, urza doesnt have many ways to use the graveyard, so while the looting finds answers faster, some of that value may be lost. Again though, I'm willing to give him a try :)
I’m trying him out in mine. Still needing to actually test it out but looting 3 times a round with pseudo-removal seems like it might swing some games.
One of the perks with polymorph is the ability to bounce your opponent's stax pieces with Tyrant. Because of this, you just need to bounce that Drannith Magistrate or Cursed Totem by casting any spell and just go off with Urza, instead of needing many backup plans.
You have to look comparatively at the alternatives. Cedh decks are usually in the thousands so $400 is cheap for what you are doing and the level of competition this lets you play at.
400 is budget. Im guessing that most decks you throw together with cards you have will be around 250 to 500$. Ive done this with three decks, Yarok, Rienne, and Kraum & Ludivek and each was around the 350 to 400 mark. My slimefoot deck is closer to 4K and my Elsha is even more.
It was part of the challenge, cEDH isn’t often on a low budget the lowest you could make a cEDH deck [sisay] for $100 but you lose a lot of power. So $400 is about the lowest to build a power level 6-9.
4 stax players: enter pod
~3 Weeks Later~
1 stax player: wins
hahaha. This is kinda true.
And then you find out it was a 6 turn game 😆

I just finished paying for my most expensive deck yet and you had to post this. Want.
hehe sorry.
i’ve been wanting a reason to take apart my baral proxy’d cedh deck and turn it into urza, and this is perfect
Is there a primer or guide on what to upgrade in the budget build that is relevant for 2021?
LOVE IT
It is definatly a really cool commander! I am glad they made him.

Is he planning on slotting in the new Teferi?

My backup plan when I have infinit mana is Whispers of the Muse

How is $400 budget!?

How much do your other cedh decks cost man?
We decided on 400$ to make it easier for deck builders in the competition.
