I just wanted to say thank you. I've been trying to find a build for my Timby and the meta build ran a little hot. By swapping out the RT I lost JJ, but the heat management and mobility has more than made up for it. Thanks again!
Wow the beginning of that first HPG game was great! Team coming back from the rotation to back Up the Annihilator is something I don't see too often, a well deserved win.
Its not bad at all now. Earned the free one and slapped on lrm 60 and 2 laser claws did pretty decent, except for that time we got surrounded and got ac20 snubbed in the torso.
Should reduce 1/2 ton of armor on the legs to get a light active probe into the right torso. Allows you to collect data on your foes faster to spot weakpoints to shoot your larger pulses at for effective critical damage.
Might run this build when I get the Free Timber Wolf. Currently running something similar on the Blood Asp. Two Large pulse lasers, 6 medium pulse lasers, and a LB5. Tons of fun.
I got the event Timby just before the patch dropped, and it felt OKish, reasonable poker using your build from #1399. But it felt very vulnerable as it couldn't reverse back into cover that well. Tried it the day after the patch, and holy crap did it feel fun to play. At first I thought I was in my Hunstman it was that agile, and when I checked their stats I wasn't surprised to see they are virtually identical. It felt so good being able to duck in and out of cover, spewing lasers. Really looking forward to see what other mechs get updated. P.S. The 6xLPPC Hunchy feels amazing now too, it's so nimble.
I have a slight suggestion for this build that I find works amazing. Use PRIME core and use a heavy machine gun in the center torso instead of a laser, then remove a double heatsink and add 2 machine ammo, and fill the empty slot with ammo. A single heavy machine gun may sound strange, but its point is to continuously shoot components before and after you shoot the lasers. I added this onto my build, and It destroys so many components it is crazy.
My timby is an upscaled version of the Prime variant; ERLLs swapped for 2x Heavy Large, swapped the meds for pulses, 2MG's and 2 lrm 10 with JJ's. focused skills primarily on survivability, weapon damage and speed and try to keep it alive, healthy and doing objectives, then finish off damaged mechs at the end. touch on the toasty side but very manageable.
As a counter, if you ever see a Timberwolf with these high shoulder mounts, always take that side torso first. It's an easy target and the rest of the mech will be so crippled it can't effectively stay in the fight.
You know, I just built this build in the store page plus two medium lasers and I have to say it's pretty devastating in testing grounds. I might have to pick this chassis up sometime!
Try the thanatos stealth dual light guass build with jump jets. Ive been using it lately with great results. The jump jets allow you to get into some cheeky places with a maxed out jump jet tree.
That annihilator in the first game.. I just imagined arnold swarzenegger in "Kindergarten Cop" swinging left and right will all the kids on his back trying to bring him down...
you should try the Kodaks now. much better than it's been since the engine D-sink. not quite the king of the battlefield they used to be but still much better than they have been in a while.
again you can argue the map being at fault but more often it´s playerbehavior ... it´s incredible how many times you tell a team to form a firingline and still have people chicken out falling into the nascarroutine again
I would love to see a "graph" of how the changes from each patch compare to stock values from launch, it seems like they have gone back to the original stats for weapons many times, each time responding to forum whining about balance
Clan lasers since the patch have been even more crazy then they where...10 er's on a stormcrow....over 1000 dmg a lot of games. It feels a bit broken with the 21 heatsinks it has with 1.32 heat management....clans need a reduction in cooling ability.
@@jonathanjollimore7156 save for clan uacs are hands down better than IS currently with the buff they got, look at numbers at the end of a game and take note of builds.
@@r3drumg33k3 RACs and now RAC5 are on par with RAC 2s on top standers AC10 and 20s are better with big front load shells but stander Clan AC 5 are better now with single shell like IS ac 5s IS UAC5 are still better so over all I give edge to IS boom boom guns

Props to NorthMammoth in the annihilator managing to spread that damage out and stay alive at 30%.
ANH with its god tier hiboxes can stay alive at extremely low percentages.

Excellent, I missed playing my Timby, used to be my go too Mech given it was the poster child for Battletech.
