Kensington Olympia. Many railtours have passed this station including the one to Kent from Newport where the steam train began. This was 15th September, over a month ago. Intercity/Crosscountry trains used to stop I think from Brighton towards Birmingham and Manchester. Nowadays, it is Overground and Southern, latter services go to Milton Keynes Central which is a good connection for expresses to say Birmingham, Manchester, North Wales, Preston and beyond.
Another great video..loved the clagging class 70 at the end 🙂👍🏽🎉 Kensington Olympia...how the mighty have fallen 😧 This station was re-launched in the mid 1980’s with a big BR fanfare with new Cross-Country services from Manchester/Liverpool and Scotland to Dover, Folkestone, Brighton and sometimes Eastbourne. BR marketed it as a Cross-Country route that traversed London. Most of these services used the WCML with a AC electric loco swap to/from Diesel at Mitre Bridge Junction just before Kensington Olympia. Sadly, those Cross-Country services were withdrawn and Kensington Olympia only now mainly has a passenger overground service to/from Stratford 🤨

Those Class 70s are dirrrrtyy, I’ve got some more clips of them in upcoming videos and they always make a mess! I’m not a huge fan of the 59s either but it makes a change from the endless 66s in this country. Thanks Arnold 😃

The district line is very limited service here and is shown like that on the tube map too. Shame really because there were a fair few passengers on Overground trains!

Eurostar trains used this stretch of line at low speed until 2007 to gain access to North Pole depot (now North Pole GWR IET depot). So i suppose you were mostly right 😃

I don't think its weird, I am actually quite proud of it. You have to have quite thick skin to stand on the end of a busy station at rush hour getting judged 😃. All I will say about hobbies is that people said gaming commertaries were weird until TH-cam became full of them!

I recommend going to Dorking. Mainly because you can get shots of the 455/56 before they are scrapped and there are quite a few 377s as well.

I was afraid that we would only see the London Underground S Stock, London Overground Class 378, Southern Rail Class 387, and Freight.
Southern don’t use class 387s, only class 377s.

Southern use Class 377/2 and Class 377/7 on the East Croydon-Milton Keynes Central route as they are dual voltage.
