Dude, i just want to thank you man. You provide a ton of info for tourists like me all the way from The Netherlands. I can't wait for my first trip to the USA in April 2018, i dreamed about it for a long time and your clips are making me even more excited. Thanks agian!
@@rojoknight like our grandparents, for example? Or you’re a native American, and in this case, I totally defer to your self-entitled comment and say I truly apologize that we invaded your land.
A quintessential Borrego experience for everyone is dinner, music and dancing on Saturday nights at Carlee's restaurant, just off Christmas Circle. Nothing quite like it...
Thank you for this great video! My friends and I did lots of these recommendations based on this, including the Dry Lake Bed, The Sculptures, and The Slot. We topped it all off with a trip to Bombay Beach. Thanks!
Reasons why this vid should be number 1: Succinct Insightful with mileage and type of terrain Common and uncommon recommendations Kept the attention Thank you sir
Good Job. I love the Domelands and Windcaves, I especially like the short slot canyon there. The Goat Canyon Train Trestle Bridge is a great hike, but even though its not to long of a hike its still no joke.
I have been to the slots and the mud caves. Both are very cool to see. If you walk all the way through the slots you can see the wind caves which is pretty cool also. In the video he talks about the calcite mines. That’s another good one to go to. So many good places to see.
Several years back was in San Diego and took a road trip and came across Borrego Springs and state park. It was a beautiful place did short hike from camp ground wish I had more time time see all the other areas in your video Thank you
Thank you for Sharing all your videos I really appreciate it as do most of us. I have a question for you though, I will be in Anza tomorrow a d wanted to ask where is the best pla e to view the stars? These are the darkest nights this month
This is a very nice plece to visit, I live there 4 years, I love borrego spring I take my family there some times, they have the best oranges, and Grapefruit I recommend this fruit.
Are there any trails networks, that offer thrilling hikes, from the tall Ramparts of the Laguna, Cuyamaca, and Volcon Ranges, to the Anza-Borrego Basin and back? Pines-to-Cactus kinds of routes?
@@kamranford4 thats a marvelous idea, and I enjoy being able to explore around and watching the sky at night like nowhere else 🌟 ⭐ 💫 🌠 ,Very Peaceful, what makes it difficult is having to drive about an hour out to the city to get what you need for better prices and the heat in July is Very tough but other than that you'll make a great choice.
One of my favorite places is the Blue Sun cave on Indian Hill, its in the same valley as the trail head to the trestle bridge. I love your videos and keep up the amazing work!
you all probably dont care at all but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my password. I love any help you can give me!
I want to compliment you on a lot of interesting information presented in a more concise manner than I have come to expect from any reasonably well-produced TH-cam videos. (That wasn't a very concise sentence in itself, now was it? LOL) My folks and I bugged out of California more than fifty years ago; and I have never regretted that fact. However, like many old farts, I'd like to revisit a few locations enjoyed in my youth. But I would also like to explore fresh locales. I grew up in Fontana and, despite its proximity, never made it to Anza-Borrega. I'm perusing a few videos on the subject to garner ideas--your video stood out for it lack of irrelevant filler. Kudos! Some time ago, I stumbled upon an old map, considerably older than a century, that depicts within the present Anza-Borrega a site labeled "Old Santa Rosa." It was an Indian village that has nothing to do with the present Santa Rosa in San Luis Obispo County. Are you familiar with the site and its history?
I definitely taken several of these places into consideration, and not just in this video! I am one of many that greatly appreciate all the content + knowledge you continue to share. Your content helps me with exploring especially moving down from the PNW! Thank you! BTW, any post quarantine locations you would recommend? or you're off to next?
After seeing you video I have to go back & see areas I missed. I made a TH-cam video on places I saw. Search with my name & the park name. Enjoyed your video-good info. Too many videos don’t give enough info.
We are thinking of going in the next couple of months. This is a great list. Luckily I had already done #7, Trestle bridge. I heard they are working on the trails and the fist tunnel is sealed and gate locked. Glad I made the trip, I bet they cite hiker for trespassing now.
This is an amazing video!!! Really informative. I recently learned that Borrego Springs is a Dark Sky Community, your information is right on! Great information about needing a four wheel drive car. I have a small car, two wheel drive and I got stuck in the high desert, San Bernardino County. I can't wait to go to Borrego this year! By the way, your music is on point! Nice tunes. I am definitely subscribing for more videos. Thanks.
You should rename your channel to the world through my lens. Would love to see a video of you at Niagara Falls, and Glacier national park. I have been wanting to visit Canada but can’t find anyone who does videos like yours out their..Anywho safe travels!
pete waroblak I recommend going into the visitors center when you get there. They have a paper they give out that shows you how to get to the slot and that is the best way to find it
1:40. I think I read that the palm trees in that area are the only palm trees native to California. All the other palms you see in California have been introduced by man.
Been to all these place and more. Last I knew the sculptures are on BLM land and not in the State Park. This may have changed since I was last there. Personally I don't like that they are there, yes interesting to look at but for me they are pieces of liter that deface the beauty of the natural desert landscape. There was no charge to hike Palm Canyon, however I understand the reason for the charge. Hiker population on this trail probably has increased by10 fold if not more since I first hiked it. This makes for a lot of wear and tear on its' environment. It is a state park, but trust me it is not a walk in the park, be well prepared for every hike you take is a walk "Into The Wild." I am so blessed to have such good memories at the Anza Borrego Desert.
I'm getting really frustrated with California. I lived here for 20 years and then my job took me to Atlanta, Texas and South Carolina. it's easy to own a house in every state except here. So I was wondering and had a question for you. I found an affordable lot that I think I can build my own house on. Do you recommend having a second home here? Is it safe? What's going on there?
comrade , get the grapefruit in the circle ( w.) 3 times the beer you expect to normally need , water for five days and don't forget the raideator . the sun will boil you down ,plan on it ,adue!
Many of the dirt roads in Anza Borrego are marked as 4WD recommended or high clearance recommended, yet I found this not to be the case for many of them. Which makes it that much harder to know which roads actually do require 4WD or high clearance, and which ones don't. Font's Point, for example, is accessible without 4WD/high clearance if you drive carefully. Some of the other spots in Anza Borrego I'd recommend are Whale Peak and Marshall South in the southern part of the park. It should also be noted that Anza Borrego is the largest State Park in CA!
Disagreeing with you on part of this! As the video said, it depends on the time of year, but right now you definitely DO NOT want to go to Fonts Point without 4WD and high clearance. Conditions can change drastically day by day, so I would not recommend it to people without 4WD, especially those who have not driven in sand. This is true for all of the 4WD recommended roads in the park. The only road that is fully safe for 2WD is the slot. If you do not have a 4WD vehicle but desperately want to see Fonts Point, there are several tour companies that will take you there. Better be safe than to waste rangers time rescuing you.
Worked in the Anza Borrego desert everyday for eight years and this guy just tapped some of the adventures there. I could tell you about a hundred places of interest that even the park rangers don't know about. But...….not going to.
This is a great video. Excellent camera work. To the point. This park is a bit overwhelming to plan, so appreciate the recommendations.

Anza Borrego State Park is badass!!! So many places to check out... hotsprings also ... primitive (free) camping is abundant here!
One of my absolute favorite places in California!
This is so helpful, especially the advice about driving.
Thank you. Your guide helped a lot to make a plan to visit this park for one day.

You do nice video's. I was at the park 1 week ago. Fantastic trip. You are right about nighttime star gazing!
Sheep canyon beyond coyote canyon is my favorite place as well as fish creek

Lol I went to the mudcaves twice with my POS 2 wheel drive car, and yes bad idea, great video!

Another great video - fantastic sculpture and night sky shots!! But the slot canyon and caves 😳 oh and the snake 😳
Thanks! Ya, so much fun stuff to do in that park!

From your video we did the slot canyon and the desert sculptures. It was amazing
Thank you so much for making this video, great information for who had never gone.
Outstanding video and great information! Planning on visiting soon.
Split Mountain? Pretty cool & you can drive through it. Shells from the time when it was under water are all over.
Thank you so much for the tip and video! I am thinking about driving there with my family this holiday

A buddy and I hiked to the trestle in the middle of the night and slept in hammocks on the trestle. Borrego is legit.
That sounds like a pretty crazy adventure!
Thanks. Just moved to San Diego and I put these sites on my list.
Been here my entire 25 year life , and I'm barely finding out about these sites 😂

Thanks for the tips, I haven't been there but I will have to check it out!
Is the Blue Sun cave, the big cave at the base of Indian Hill? I'm thinking I may have not seen this cave. They're so many in that Hill
Wow love my San Diego

I’ve been there so many times. My parents took me there so many times. I have seen some of this

Wow. I can’t believe I missed this video. I really want to check out the trestle. I heard that they are trying to resurrect that rail line.
Great video!! I have a question, Out of these 7 attractions you have listed, which is accessible by hiking or 2wheel drive?
🤪🤪

You can do many on a day trip, but not the goat canyon trestle or the mud caves.
Thanks for your response!

Is the rail trestle still in use?
do you have a coodinates for palm canyon?
which location is the best area to stay if you #1. only have one week, #2. mainly want to hike ...
Hate to break the news to you but there are 150 metal statues all around Borrego Springs.
Is it possible to just walk the 4 miles to Fonts Point?
It’s not exactly in the park but the Pumpkin Patch is another place to visit
