Feathering the gas (~1500) until you learn the bite point helps a lot to learn to not stall. I only learned a few months ago and I did that sporadic jump from clutch to gas and had a ton of stalls too. When I realized that giving it a little bit of gas helped me a lot, once you know the bite you barely need the gas then.

My first manual car was a VW rabbit I miss driving a manual but learning took so long and stalling was so common. Just when you think you have it a hill with a stop sign on it shows up.
You have to demonstrate to her first and stay by her side when she tries so she is more confident and less anxiety. It's great that you are calm as well.

If only my instructor had been as patient as you are! Being told to hold it for a second at the bite point (as opposed to 1 fluid motion) did the trick for me when I started out :)
Damn Alyssa did really good, my first time trying to drive stick wasnt nearly as smooth. On your question if stalling hurts the car: in general no. Obviously it puts more stress on the drivetrain than a perfectly smooth start, but a hard launch puts way more power through, so stalling does not damage your car at all

Honestly us some who my dad have a driving license company and driving license teacher thows dropping the clutch pedal is not bad at all we have our car get shit on for more that 6 years and then never repair the transmission or the clutch it is much less pain to it than a drifting or a or a donut 🍩... And we are doing it for more than 20 years And for next time just tell her to push the gas pedal and held it at like 1.5 and then let go of the clutch slowly it well make it much easier And love the videos ❤️
100% this was me. My first manual experience was a jeep the detailer I worked for wanted me to drive 5 mins down the road to another location. I stalled that bad boy about a dozen times there and back 😂
How bad is it for the car? Well you'll get clutch wear but you'll have to change the clutch disks sometime anyway. Major problem is that you'll probably get transmission malfunctions in the far future
Just ask friends or family if someone is willing to go out with you or lend you a manual. Doesnt need to be anything fancy at all as all stick cars work the same. Id recomment finding someone whos calm and takes his time with you/leaves you enough time, as once you know how the pedals work its just getting used to timing and feel and the only problem is you messing yourself up by getting hectic or frustrated
