      Having equipment doesn’t automatically mean you can weld out of position. If those welds fail someone’s going to have a bad day.

      Hi there. I've got loads of equipment. I can weld in and out of position. With that being said. I flat out don't have the time to tackle everything. And!! Subbing out work helps those around me...and really...that's what it is all about.

    Did a great job on bending both side with 1 wallop .. good job you was about to repair , does go to show sometimes its actually worse than first thought . And yup great to be able to have the facilities at hand as some say sometimes it's just easier to out source the work if you just can't do it yourself . Could be time frame or your guy is not available to do the repair . Thanks for sharing the video Anthony

    Got a boat trailer a while back with a drop torsion axle on it. I went to do some mods on the axle and guard mounts to allow me to fit larger tyres and I found some dodgy brothers repairs had been done on it, the bar holding the stub axle to the main axle had been replaced with just simple box section steel, and it was also badly rusted to boot. I had a set of springs and hangers in the spares bin, so I just got rid of it and replaced it with a normal spring mounted drop axle.

    I love MIG welding the old stuff a little bit harder to use because you get cold lap especially when you're just tacking those new inverters have inductance control you can set the inductance where it Heats it right up right now virtually no cold lap with the new stuff but I do love me some Miller 252 they're good welders but I do realize in your situation you couldn't get it too hot because of the dampener inside the axle I do not like those I have burned a few of those up good job though

    • @derekbryant6137
      @derekbryant6137 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MeltinMetalAnthony another thing I do with the older mig welders is I start 1/2 ahead of the start of the joint to be welded and then back up to the start and then go forward this helps with preventing cold lap. And when I get to the end of the joint I get to the end and back up about a 1/4 inch and get out of it that fills craters

    Do you have crazy insurance?
    My company just left California and apparently most of them have as well. Anything to do with flames and they're out! It took me a week of screening calls and online bullshit to get turned down at every turn. They specifically said no auto work. I got a year policy for structural steel erection, and welding, including marine work for 3800 a year, but they all are clear that I can't weld on anything automotive. I will, but not insured for it apparently.
    Any thoughts?
    I know that everyone in Cali is ue happy and I should probably just sell the house and buy or build a nice shopartment somewhere else, but have you ever been to Santa Cruz? I've traveled and lived all over, but I always end up back here.
