Jack is right when he says that you talk in d1 not very often but the sections where you talk were the best, like when you meet the awoken for the first time
yeah, in the original content you talked a bit. with later DLC they seem to have intentionally tried to switch you over to a silent soldier. I'm not against that tho, it actually made me like my guardians more. lol
You talk to The Speaker, the Exo Hunter, i forgot her name but you first meet her in The Moon and you meet her again in Venus. You also talk a few times in the campaign but i don't remember the specifics.
It seems like they haven't been paying any attention to any of the news about Destiny 2. The Defender class got turned into Sentinel. The loadout system got changed so it's now Kinetic weapons, Energy weapons, and Power weapons rather than Primary, Special, and Heavy. Shotguns, fusion rifles, and sniper rifles became Power weapons and SMGs and Grenade Launchers got added. There are a few new locations, one of which is Nessus, where the strike takes place.
They got to stop trying to figure out powers and stuff, just go in and READ the power because the game tells you how everything works. Them trying to figure out abilities and making up stuff is annoying as fuck.
Yeah, very annoying. Considering this is a game they're super in to, they seem totally ignorant of all of the *widely publicised* changes to the game :/
18:40 WAIITTT wait wait is that the kirin tor symbol for world of warcraft in dalaran?? The purple eye? I know activision has Xur in legion but i didnt expect to see WoW symbols in Destiny
The protagonist speaks in the first Destiny but only for the vanilla game. They didn't voice them for any of the dlc after. It sort of sucks but I can live with it.
Maybe it's just me, but I wish they had played it alone first and then recorded it. That way they had some idea of when something cool was coming up and they could either not talk over it or know when to look at something. They missed basically all of the set pieces because Michael was just looking at something else at the time.
I enjoy the fact that geoff actually tries to actually learn to play games but still manages to preform poorly when they record. His sky factory is great i like the different chickens tho
+thehollowlingwin What story? Oh you mean the story that didn't exist until several DLCs and expansions later. Yeah the non existant story wasn't memorable.
TexMex I would just go find the lore. The game is great but with D2 coming out soon you won't miss much in the old game. The lore in Destiny is amazing though and you should totally check it out
Jack is correct you do talk in the first game. I believe when you first start playing you ask the ghost will it fly. talking about the ship you get to escape.
guardians die all the time, they just get brought back with the ghosts revive light powers. in lore the only way to fully kill a guardian is to kill the ghost and guardian together, but guardians die all the time.
King Kanye West Jr. Literally every time you die was a result of you being killed. Look, I get it, what OP meant and what you mean are Permanent Death (i.e. no light, and thus no ghost reviving you), but I'm just pointing out that technically, yes, we do indeed die many of times in D1. And as far as D1 bosses "not trying hard enough" is debatable. The Vex are indifferent to our existence as guardians and agents of light and therefore was never obsessed as to defeat guardians and the light. As a matter of fact, they will use us as pawns and temporary allies to defeat other foes at the time being, while at other times we are an inconvenience. A perfext example is Paradox mission when the Vex allow us to enter the VoG to rid of Taken forces that aim to take over from within. The Fallen were prior agents of the light (if im not mistaken) and had a lot of shit on their hands as far battling Oryx, then abobdoning the light (or rather the Traveler abondoning them), House politics and all that drama, the Reef Wars against the Awoken, etc. House Wolves would be the closest attempt to defeating the guardian considering their aggressive tactics to even coerce other houses to join, with Skolas becoming very close to succeeding using Vex tech. So that's as far as the Fallen go. The Hive on the other hand have a different approach. Rather than looking for an immediate conquering of the light they choose (actually are cursed to) strengthen themselves through the darkness. Oryx was destined to conquer and feed his worm just as every Hive spawn is supposed to. If he doesn't he will be consumed by his worm, which is why he can't take the immediate route to kill guardians and the Traveler. All this time, he has conquered and killed to grow stronger through sword logic so that when he IS ready for a full frontal assault on the Traveler, it will be easy with minimal loss on the Hive's end, which I personally believe he was about ready for in the time of D1, but due to confrontations with the Awoken that plan was thwarted as he now had to reconsider his attack considering his whole fleet was wiped out. And if that's not enough, take into account what Crota had accomplished. He and his legions had the moon on lockdown as well as a hefty presence on Earth. The Splicers don't give a shit about the light/dark but rather have found their new deity, power, and weapon known as SIVA. If they could evolve using SIVA tech they would conquer Earth easily as well as the Traveler and the City, at which at that point, the light would benefit them even more OR be rendered as obsolete. The Cabal, finally, are nothing but a militaristic force that conquers just as Oryx has. The reason why Gaul does what "no other boss" can is because the Vex are already immobolized and defeated (Black Garden/VoG/Atheon), the Fallen are literally falling apart (Reef Wars/ Skolas defeated), the Hive are defeated (Crota/Oryx), the Awoken are dead, and the Splicers are thwarted. Gaul is not all high and mighty compared to the other Bosses, as a matter of fact, most of them would demolish him. The only reason he came to be where he is in D2 is because he watched from behind the scenes as we killed all other agents of darkness first, which would create a clear cut path directly to the city with no interference. His might is contigent upon the numbers he brings with him, which is alot. Had Gaul confronted Oryx and his fleet, it would be a good fight, but Oryx would win, just as he fought with the Vex and eventually won. I believe Gaul and the Cabal could defeat the Fallen though, easily, considering the disorder of the Fallen. We have to keep in mind, the City is extremely weak and any of the races could have conquered it, guardians, and the travelever if they wanted to and if they weren't preoccupied with all the shit going on in their lives as mentioned above.
any time you die and you wipe, its not a canonical death. as far as the plot of the game and the characters are concerned, every mission is completed without being "consumed by the darkness" as that is actually death for a guardian
For all its flaws, Destiny has some of the best-feeling gameplay of any shooter I've played. The guns feel so real and powerful, and each one handles slightly different. The UI, supers, movement, all of it, feel great. It was enough to prevent the game from getting too boring too quickly for me. I could tolerate all the farming if it meant I could keep getting into firefights with random enemies.
Do you think "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" was a Bungie employee's cry for help because they were under pressure from Activision to launch?
the only problem I had with the beta was the fact that the first mission show that your light is taken by the cabal but you can still revive and use your powers. I could be wrong, but I thought the fact that you had "light" was the reason for your powers and your ability to revive
Up until the last cut scene, what Jack mentions about the theory of the guardians being the bad guys makes a bit of sense to me. The Traveler is a bad guy, and the guardians are his army, so one of his victims, the Cabal makes a successful attempt to seal his power for their benefit and those of the other aliens. Well, that my spiel on this.
Even though Bungie fucked up on so many areas (the story the most because it didn't exist in the first place) they still manage to make a couple of areas right. A *couple* of areas.
haha i didnt even look at the person on the left when it started, thinking oh yup trevor, then he's like and alfredo...i was like oh shit yep totally not trevor
Good to see the crosshair is still only 40% of the way up the screen. I really wish Bungie would move away from that, while I haven't played one of their games since Halo 3 (since I moved to PC), I remember them fairly fondly except that one damn thing. Always felt like I was leaning back, staring at the sky.
I can't imagine playing Destiny and being this clueless. They'd all enjoy this so much more if they paid attention, but that's probably asking too much.
The cabal actually are a military race. They are born into it. They have extreme loyalty to their ruler and lots of cabal die while training to be come a soldier.
Fun fact: Ghaul was the last surviving Grunt in the last level of Halo 3.
Be careful who you make fun of in middle school...
and hes been in the gym ever since
that or he went to the Warhammer universe for abit. I thought when I seen him he was a space marine from a special chapter.
While you were farming raids, he was training...
he gave up the food nipple for protein shakes
Jack is right when he says that you talk in d1 not very often but the sections where you talk were the best, like when you meet the awoken for the first time
Holy shit at 10:15 when Michael throws the grenade one of the Kabal lies down on it trying to protect the others. That's some love for details!
Neysiriss I think he was just crouching in defence, like they do in D1. He just showed stupid ai logic.
Kay Sabb that's nonsense. Covering the grenade from teammates is an actual action the cabal do
I've seen Fallen and Hive crouching down like idiots right next to grenades in D1. That means nothing
Psst just let me believe this one xD
Cabal* sorry I had to
You missed cayde using golden gun, you almost missed shaxx, you missed the command ship, you almost missed ikora.
They pretty much missed Ikora, but I thought the same thing
They basically missed her. Shadowshot, Jeremy? On a warlock? Come on now.
Michael's awareness is just nonexistent
they totally missed cayde and shax fucks sake
Missed Holliday too.
you do talk in the first one on a few occasions
Only in the vanilla story. Then Bungie decided that they didn't like it and wanted to go with a silent protagonist like Link.
yeah, in the original content you talked a bit. with later DLC they seem to have intentionally tried to switch you over to a silent soldier. I'm not against that tho, it actually made me like my guardians more. lol
You talk to The Speaker, the Exo Hunter, i forgot her name but you first meet her in The Moon and you meet her again in Venus. You also talk a few times in the campaign but i don't remember the specifics.
i hope our character talks in D2, i hate having the ghost talk for us. i cant stand its voice.
Reason why they do not talk is because its a beta
Destiny 2 Beta comes out..... and I bet Geoff still hasn't leveled his Sunsinger class from D1 XD
sunsinger was useless though unless you just die a lot in raids or wanted to tryhard in trials
Sunsinger wasn't useless.
Maybe not so much useful in a clan, but if you were with randoms then Sunsinger was the best thing to bring along.
Cars. & Ev. I barely ever used Radiance, but those solar grenades
Icarus Of all people in AH, self revive would have been most useful for Geoff.
As a person who still hasn't played destiny, I cant wait for all the raid videos they do.
FlaredHeart28 The Vault of Glass raid video they created were what brought me to Destiny.
as a ____ is the most entitled way to start off something...
Yeah... that didn't pan out like we thought it would did it
2:12 "Cayde will never die" 😭
Love achievement hunter, wish they'd pay attention to the game and not go explore when there are key parts. Like every game.
You missed "not" from between the "let's" and "watch". You missed all the major events. Hahaha
"You wait 'till we get our Gjallerhorn back, you sonuvabitch!"
Alfredo is awesome.
They almost missed everything in the mission
Any body else getting really fucking hungry whenever they say alfredo? No? Just me? Okay then
There ability to get to the point where things are happening and turn around to completely miss everything is astounding.
Like how jack was talking about matpats game theroy towards the end
21:30 "That's the thing that launches the balls."
...So the shaft?
21:35 was when I finally fucking noticed the there was another achievement hunter that wasn't Micheal, Jack, and Jeremy 😂
I just hope In the future that they actually become more observant to the game and not miss 90% of things
This was extra hard to watch Michael, you were so rusty you missed half the cool shit! xD Better get gud for the release.
You know...out of all the "guests" in AH/RT videos, I like Alfredo the most
Melonbread / メロンパン same Alfredo meshes with the team very well. He'd be a welcome addition.
Melonbread / メロンパン same
I can't tell if your picture is a melonbread shaped cat or cat shaped melonbread. . .
They got to stop trying to figure out powers and stuff, just go in and READ the power because the game tells you how everything works. Them trying to figure out abilities and making up stuff is annoying as fuck.
Micheal is so unaware of things
Anyone else annoyed they changed away from the new subclass
Garry Magee well Jeremy thought it was the same as Defender soo
Well, it is Defender. If you tap the triggers, you get Sentinel, but if you hold them, you get Ward of Dawn.
Yeah, very annoying. Considering this is a game they're super in to, they seem totally ignorant of all of the *widely publicised* changes to the game :/
Eh. This is AH. They were probably looking forward to just playing the game instead of going sweaty tryhard in a beta.
Garry Magee Nah it's a cool thing it shakes things up
18:40 WAIITTT wait wait is that the kirin tor symbol for world of warcraft in dalaran?? The purple eye? I know activision has Xur in legion but i didnt expect to see WoW symbols in Destiny
I always like how Jack announces bosses as if he's familiar with and happy to see them.
The protagonist speaks in the first Destiny but only for the vanilla game. They didn't voice them for any of the dlc after. It sort of sucks but I can live with it.
You can hop over/onto ledges and other stuff when you jump on the edge of structures.
Alfredos comment after the Gaul beatdown had me dying
33:18 *whispers* This is Sparta *taps*
Jack is a awesome nerd. Makes a reference to and names the characters from The Fifth Element
22:10 Jeremy confirmed dank weed boi
Yes jeremy a warlock used shadow shot
Shadow Shot, Nova bomb, really what's the difference, right?
some people just have a life and dont remember everything from the hundreds of video games they play
I am ok that there was a mix up. As long as you are having fun. No need to get upset. Plus Jeremy is the grammar hammer
"some people just have a life...hundreds of video games they play" wut.
The fact that these guys apparently love this game and yet know nothing about it is infuriating.
I love their reaction to shax's sword. "Damn. Look at that sword." No it's your sword from year 2. Insert slow clap
For some reason, every time I see a Legionary I picture one of the Kia Gerbils. Something about their helmet makes me see a gerbil.
Every time Jeremy quotes Futurama I am reminded why he is my favorite. I want him to be my friend haha
Also, the guardian you play as definitely speak at least 2-3 times. To the speaker, the queen, and at some other point I may have imagined
am i the only one that thinks that Ghaul's head looks like a grunts head from halo?
Clay-Media he's that grunt you can find at the very end of halo 3, he survived the rings destruction
a cool thing I found is u can disindigrate corpes if u melee them as an arcstrider
This is my favorite channel to watch
For how much they loved Destiny how did they all forget your character speaks....
Brian Curry To be fair the story wasn't that memorable so I can't fully blame them
to be fair also your character speaks like twice in the whole game
+thehollowlingwin What story? Oh you mean the story that didn't exist until several DLCs and expansions later. Yeah the non existant story wasn't memorable.
ReachStudioPro Exactly what you said 😂, I was just trying to be nicer about it
your character talks through the whole vanilla story, not at all in the dlc
To keep smashing you keep hitting the right trigger
That Cayde never dying as a machine comment by Michael didnt age well
You do talk in the first destiny, the cutscene with the exo stranger on the moon shows your character talking for instance
Can we get Ryan saying "I'm 'bout to give them the business" as a sound bite?
No you definitely talk in the 1st game
Snakebite8301 only in vanilla
for someone who is not really a gamer, should I go play D1 or just find the lore
TexMex I would just go find the lore. The game is great but with D2 coming out soon you won't miss much in the old game. The lore in Destiny is amazing though and you should totally check it out
In the first mission in titan I died 16 times trying to platform as a Warlock not having the jump down yet.
Jack is correct you do talk in the first game. I believe when you first start playing you ask the ghost will it fly. talking about the ship you get to escape.
They are so bad at looking at the environment well really Michael he is clearly blind even with glasses
The Firefly reference made my day!
is it just me or did it look like he was fighting giant armored space hamsters
I wasn't excited for Destiny 2 AT ALL until I saw this...damn it, now I gotta get it
As a person who still plays destiny on a 360 and constantly replays missions I can confirm. YES, YOU TALK! You're welcome Jack
I'm pretty sure where you spawn is at the vanguard table in the tower
The Protagonist did talk occasionally in Destiny 1
Gull made other Destiny Bosses look like fools for not trying hard enough to kill the Guardian.
Eric Blanco Not really. Every boss HAS killed us at least once, the only difference is that Gaul took our light beforehand.
Jack Stortroen can you explain how the other bosses "killed us"... in the black garden they never did, oryx didn't
guardians die all the time, they just get brought back with the ghosts revive light powers. in lore the only way to fully kill a guardian is to kill the ghost and guardian together, but guardians die all the time.

2:08
Welp, I hate to break this to you past Michael...
Kinda wish he had used the shield at least once.
Their lack of Destiny knowledge drove me insane during this vid, still love them though.
Same
Ben Nugent This happens in every series they play there memories are garbo but they are funny asf
They don't have time to read the story on Bungie's website four hours a day, for the better part of two years
For all its flaws, Destiny has some of the best-feeling gameplay of any shooter I've played. The guns feel so real and powerful, and each one handles slightly different. The UI, supers, movement, all of it, feel great. It was enough to prevent the game from getting too boring too quickly for me. I could tolerate all the farming if it meant I could keep getting into firefights with random enemies.
If Destiny is the best felling shooter you've ever played, you need to play some Max Payne 3
I am surprised they litterally seem to know nothing about Destiny 2 as if none of them followed any of the information released for Destiny 2
25:00 IT'S PRONOUNCED BRAWN!!!
Jeremy, asking the important questions.
From far away, the legionaries look like they have hamster heads. I have bad vision, but this is what I see.
Jeremy, voicing EVERY gripe I have with the bitch-ass Cabal being the ones to get us
Watching these guy play Destiny always give me great pain.
Yes jemermy. The warlock Vanguard used Shadowshot
For people who claim to love destiny so much, they sure don't know much about anything
Do you think "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" was a Bungie employee's cry for help because they were under pressure from Activision to launch?
Ghaul was the last surviving Grunt in the last level of Halo 3
Lol he missed both animations in the first minute or two of gameplay
the only problem I had with the beta was the fact that the first mission show that your light is taken by the cabal but you can still revive and use your powers. I could be wrong, but I thought the fact that you had "light" was the reason for your powers and your ability to revive
There's something to do with a broken off piece of the Traveler that we find and draw from, or something. I think.
33:33
You wait until we get our Gjallarhorn back you son of a bitch!
Got a nice halo feel to it
I thought the exact same thing. To me, it feels like Halo 2 did when I first played it.
ye
Even though Bungie fucked up on so many areas (the story the most because it didn't exist in the first place) they still manage to make a couple of areas right. A *couple* of areas.
You're right, Jack. There are a few times during the game when you talk.
haha i didnt even look at the person on the left when it started, thinking oh yup trevor, then he's like and alfredo...i was like oh shit yep totally not trevor
Holy crap, I didn't know about all that stuff with the subclass and whatnot. I could never figure out how to do that wall thing XD
Cayde wasn't built, he was a human security guard who became one of the first exo to pay off a debt
Love destiny 2. Already level 20 with power rank 207 gear. But I also started from 0.
You better do more of this
I'm fairly certain Zavala has baited more Guardians to their deaths than the Cabal have killed.
I can't imagine playing Destiny and being this clueless. They'd all enjoy this so much more if they paid attention, but that's probably asking too much.
Why is Jack pretending like he's surprised even though he calls out everything thats about to happen
have you never watched gaming youtubers before?
Jeremy is so excited, I love it :D
"she shot it with her shadowshot" Boi
Oh no. They missed such a cool action shot with Cayde
In true Destiny fashion the game opens with you running through a place you've been before but backwards lmao Bungie has some balls
This actually kind of hurt to watch them miss the cinematic stuff
I really love alfredo! He's great at games and he knows what he's talking about when he opens his mouth
Lol someone besides Micheal, someone that knows whats going on to play geeze...
Holy shit.
Good exposition.
Edit: Holy shit.
The ghost has a good voice.
For those of you who don't know, Exo's like Cayde were human in the past but decided to turn into an exo for whatever reason
I always look at the stuff bottom left and see a grenade or heavy ammo and say you it please
AW THEY MISSED CAYDE
The cabal actually are a military race. They are born into it. They have extreme loyalty to their ruler and lots of cabal die while training to be come a soldier.
