@Valentino Bobby Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Yes!! I was already planning my order and only waited for a friend to make his decision because we order together to save on shipping costs. Then went online to order and saw it was already gone :-(
Green tea comes in phases for me. Either I crave it or I opt for something different. I love quality matcha and sencha, but puhers, oolongs, and whites are multidimensional and exciting. There’s a tea for every occasion!
My tea of the year is Elder White. Might be a bit lame for some people because its nothing too special but its just something i always find myself going back to. Just love the smoothness of it.
Coming in at number five for Johnny Lightning is ‘wildwood black’ because it represents a true Dianhong which captives the drinker. #4 is royal peach orchid which is not only These two’s wedding tea, but has my all time tasting note thus far peach gummies. #3 heirloom silver needle, my mom and I got to taste a true silver needle with a extra flare in Central Park on 9/11! #2 is Honey duchess a full spectrum oolong which is now my dad and I’s favorite tea. #1 Midsummer Light Show, this is the tea I was drinking when I found out I graduated Highschool! Sweet plum custard, aged cider wood, and a body sensation that is amazing! Relaxing, happy, and euphoric! Cheers to everyone who got to taste a true tea this year!
Just started my tea journey early this year. My favorite tea for this year is also Milk Float Nomad! It was actually my first Ripe PuErh (due to the PuErh-Headliners). I was instantly deeply impressed by it because I just didn't know that a tea can taste like "this". Now its my absolute comfort tea. I love it. Next year it will be way more difficult to chose my favorite tea since my love for tea is blooming right now and I am pretty sure this wont change! Thanks for the video and for the service. You are awesome.
My tea of the year is probably either Pear Cloud or Lily Cream Whip. Both super impressive oolongs, that I hope are back next year ;). I was bearish on lily cream whip at first but over time I really fell in love with it. Pear Cloud is still probably my favorite tea to this day. Just so sweet and durable.
Midsummer lightshow was the first aged white tea in my life and it completely blew my mind, so it has to go an number one. I really started this year getting into tea and I had the feeling that ripe puerh taste so similar but then I tasted milk float nomad and it really was different, so this tea is also high up. I still have a taster of presence collector, but the time still wasn't right for it, but I have great expectations :) Oh and young gushu 2020 is just amazing. There are probably some great teas I just haven't tasted, but there's only so much tea I can buy with my money...
I just recieved my parcel (wow that was quick this time) and used my Connaisseur brewer for the first time - and I am amazed. It is such a convenient way to "pseudo"-gong-fu brew. So far I used a small french press but it was always the issue of compressing the leaves too much when you want to avoid them seeping/steaming before the next infusion. Now I can have (almost) perfect gong fu when I am in my studio and do not have the opportunity to do the proper way (because of sticky fingers, oily hands or paint dripping). I just ordered another one as a christmas gift for a friend - she wants to learn more about tea.
This year I've favored a lot of black teas, and a wild tree ye sheng purple has probably been my top spot. Endlessly surprising as it brews. I wish there were more samplers of the Tub Highness and the Milk Float Nomad; I think I'd probably pick them up asap, but can't quite commit to full cakes.
I am happy Don pointed out the fact that fear is propagated everywhere. That is true and I see and feel that in my environment. Working with children I see the fear there as well which makes me very sad sometimes... This being said, I am enjoying MFN right now. Good choices and I am looking forward to your next great releases! Thank you and best wishes!
Swami, how did he hurt you? Why are you so petty and commenting on all of his videos (this isn’t the first one I’ve seen) if you hate him why are you spending so much time and mental effort just to send shade and spite his way? Maybe just move on? Focus on your own things? Things that actually DO make you happy?
My tea journey has been short so far, but from what I have tasted I agree with Tub Highness. My First cake was Paradise Snapper and Tub Highness is just as great as Paradise Snapper, but with more complexity and funkyness. And also it has more of the bodily sensation. I've also tried Milk Float Nomad, but it wasn't for me. I'm not at a level where I can appreciate ripened puerh yet I think (unless bling rock changes that). Plus I think Don favours a nutty flavour in general, where I'm not a huge fan of nuts on the other hand. Thank you both for all the tea and videos this year.
I did so love the charm and coziness of this session. Shout out to Celine! Tub Highness is also my favourite sheng of the year because of the luxurious feeling it provides; followed by Milk Float Nomad and Bulang Brittle head to head as close seconds. The former because it’s like a cozy blanket, the latter because it’s great as a morning brew or when I want structure. Sadly I haven’t much left of it. The third would be Presence Collector. Inward emigration is just so much more bearable with great tea. - Thank you for the fun and all the great educational content this year. I’ve learned so much! Both of you - together with your friends - brightened up my life. Please keep it up!
My number 1 tea of the year for me, goes to ‘perfect calm’ for it ability to not only smell like chocolate chip cookies in the empty cup, but helping me in my times of need. Mentally, and physically. ❤️🤝🙏☀️
Hey Don! new sub here, greetings from Canada! I have some English roots and actually live near a city called London Ontario lol I just wanna say thanks so much I've learned a ton from you in a short time and I really like your attention to detail, non-bias, geekyness etc. Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm right? Its nice just to hangout with you too and have tea and discussion, the Mrs. as well! cheers
Just tried pear cloud last Sunday and immediately snapped up the last 6 packets. The best ML tea this year imo, and I'm a Pu Erh person. Starts off smelling like a creamy biluochun, has a sweetness that surpasses the supreme jade sword. Changes every infusion from mango to papaya to pineapple while still being creamy. The best part? I got rocked off my socks tea drunk. Wish I tasted it a lot earlier so I could've bought the 150g bags (I've also tried the Bellini King, B.A.D, Tub Highness, Flower Crane and I don't think they come close)
Amethyst GABA has been my tea of the year. With my final semester in college, it has given me a good drive and awake feeling to be able to complete assignments. And nothing beats that funk, cocoa, and peanut butter taste.
I managed to snatch a bit of Bellini King two weeks ago, and I can't wait for it to arrive. I've got a feeling that that is going to be my tea of the year 2020
Such a hard decision. I think my favourite of the year really is midsummer lightshow due go its potentcy. The calm energizing gives you like a reset of the day
My 2 favorite teas for this year are #1 Milk Float Nomad and #2 is Duck S**t Dan cong. I agree with Don milk float nomad is a great tea to help with creativity. I've also been drinking a lot of bulang brittle and young gushu 2020.
My 2020 top 5!: 1. Midsummer Lightshow 2. Presence Collector 3. Bulang Brittle 4. Jade Sword Supreme 2020 5. Honey Duchess Most Tea Drunk Experience 2020: Paradise Snapper Biggest Disappointment: Almond Blossom I suspect Blingrock will be a top 5 but mine hasn't arrived yet. Gemjuice was a favourite though, I still have 6 or 7 cakes. Also waiting on Bellini King and have high hopes. Never got to try Flower Crane, looking forward to the restock! Bulang Brittle was definitely the biggest surprise. I think it made the top 5 mostly out of how unique it is.
Sooo, I don't buy at mei leaf because I don't live in the UK (and have already spent enough for black friday this year), but if I were to chose my favourite tea I've tried this year it would be either lao shu bing cha, or a 2020 yue guang bai from the jinggu prefecture, so both pressed teas - either a raw pu erh, or a white tea that I've actually let away to sit and age
One day don is going to find a tea that is so complex that the screen will be plastered with tasting notes. My nr.1 this year was diamond peak. That one is just sooooo sweet.
OMG Milk Float Nomad I today forgot about that one. That is a good one. I used to drink it all the time on the job, cuz its one that you can start leave for an hour or so and continue.
I got a lovely dancong from Shenzhen, never tried it before, think that's the kind of flavour I have been looking for.... yet to get into the puers though, will be popping to chaozhou during the holidays to get some good dancong hopefully, any other suggestions while im visiting chaozhou? Also, my favourite tea of the year was some surprisingly nice dahongpao that I forgot about for a year.... opened it up and wow.... dark chocolate....
I started with Green, Oolong, white and lot of other tea's but after having some Ripe Puerhs, I don't feel like going back to any other type of tea's ... Is that normal ???
A delightful video! I discovered interesting teas just this summer, through your channel, and I've mostly been favouring the gabas. Two parts ruby to one part amethyst mix is currently my best blend.
Been holding off on getting the Milk Float Nomad this entire year, but finally took the plunge. We'll see how it tees up against my current favorite ripe Fig Dipper. Bling Rock also en route.
So here’s my problem. If I crack open a great cake, it is forever defiled! So I stare at them in the cupboard and wish I had the carefree personality to ruin the perfect wrapping and pressing. I’ve gotten smart and started buying two of everything...one to defile and one to save, likely forever. But, all that said, my favorite of 2020 (wait...is it a 2020, or did I just finally try it in 2020?) is Nuzzle Diver. Fresh, clean, bright; the laundry reference is spot on. I’ve blown through two cakes like a sailor through bars on a one night leave, but I have one more...can I set aside to age? Not likely!

how some teas come from 800 year old trees
how some teas are insect bitten
how the goddess of mercy rewarded the farmer for tidying her temple with an interesting Oolong
and how some teas are roasted
some recieve new flavours from sunlight
and how some teas are actually fermented
and how all these things give different flavours aromas and look to each type

"Your task should be to train yourself not to take the blame for everything" 💚
You folks should do a seasonal check in!! Top springs, summers, falls, winters, and the year’s MVTeas
Love this idea
My favorite tea this year was Midsummer Lightshow cake. It just gives me a very warm feeling, like getting into a blanket during a cold night.
I like your tobias profile pic
i feel rly drunk when i do a midsummer lightshow session, this tea does stuff to me ^^
40 min ... couldn't stop witching it )) love you guys!! Greetings from Vienna))
I am SO HAPPY to know there is more flower crane coming. I missed that release and have been so down about it
Agree! I completely missed it’s first release, somehow. But, I won’t be so slow on the stick this time.
You will love it mate! ❤️👌🏻

I think it is a cool idea to give that optic feedback to the aromas
3:00 My wife has the Aiyana wrapper upright on her desk next to where she writes every day. Inspiration art wrapper!
Martin, I framed my Aiyana wrapper in a circular frame. Looks great in the kitchen, above the tea canisters. Hope you are well and safe.
@@OCteahead I bet that looks incredible, Scott! Another way the tea can continue to bring joy, even when the leaves are long gone.
