I forgot to tell you about an important topic about Yoko Kanno 😅 When the current Emperor ascended to the throne in 2019, she was asked by the Imperial Household Agency to compose a congratulatory song, and when she performed it in front of the Emperor and Empress, the Empress was so moved that she shed tears when she heard it 😌 She is also from Miyagi Prefecture, which was the most affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, and she composed the charity song "Flowers Bloom" to support the reconstruction efforts. A special version was released in which famous Japanese talents, actors, and musicians sang the song, and it is still sung by choirs all over Japan.😢
Yoko Kanno originally had a gift for composition and music, she originally transcribed all sorts of music for student bands. That gave her an amazing ability to both compose and identify elements across all sorts of genres. She was approached to compose music for Nobunaga's Ambition (a RPG game). When the game turned out to be a massive hit her name became one of the A-list composers in Japanese Video Game and Anime composition. She formed The Seatbelts as a Big Band mix of top studio musicians and composed the Cowboy Bebop score. She blended Bop, Big Band, Latin, Classical, Blues, and Jazz. Many hold her work Jazz and Bebop composition skills to be approaching that of Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis. But as her works span so many musical genres her name usually sits as an unconstrained outlier (like a Vangelis).
Always brought to mind 60's police serials, Johnny Quest vibes. Had a lot of fun listening to this at the start of every episode watching the anime series- which in themselves had a lot of great mood music. Can relate somewhat to it being noted it felt too long, but loved the complex bass and percussion, and the brass kept the energy throughout. It was the audio equivalent of a five course meal, and sometimes we need that in a time where music comes to us like fast food with bold flavours, but still leaving one feel a bit empty afterwards.
They fought it for the first thirty seconds, but slowly began falling into the groove... This song was composed by a 17 yr old. Check out " Bad Dog, No Bisquit!" from the same ost...
Some think both the show and this theme song are based on an early anime series, Lupin the Third. This song is the theme song for that so. Do you think there are similarities? th-cam.com/video/HVWdnEklf00/w-d-xo.html
What I remember about the show after not seeing it for almost 20 years: There was a lesbian space trucker and a man who played jazz in a club and he had boobs. I think it was a reverse Total Recall reference because that had something to do with poullution. Also: EIN! Fricken' amazing show despite the short run!

WOW, I did not know that. I've been a Yoko Kanno fan since Macross Plus, and it's amazing to see the level she's at now.

I was also moved when I heard "Voices" from the Macross Plus OST.🤯
Yes! I am a member of local chorus club in Yokohama, Japan and just sang "Flowers Bloom" at the community concert yesterday. Yoko Kanno is genius!
Do you like Jazz?
Ya, but where's the burps?!
They wanted a 60's spy vibe and they nailed it IMO.

this is the greatest anime theme song of all time.
Yet, Minmei is still singing in my head!!!
Even those who haven't watched a single episode of the anime are excited by this song. Tank! It's in my TOP 5 of the best anime opening soundtracks.
Yoko Kanno put every song of cowboy bebop into legend
Song is a 10/10, guys, lol.

The guy in the middle doesn't know music clearly 😐

This is a Latin jazz version of Hoyt Curtin's Jonny Quest theme. High energy with plenty of very sassy brass in it.
Boys... Cheater - Teenage Zero.. DO IT! ha

Anyone who is allergic to fun should stay away from the Bebop ost.
Please do the pillows ride on shooting star
ルパン三世や名探偵コナンのテーマ曲も聴いてみて欲しい
Could you please react to the rest of the album?

Damn I'm closer to the dude in the middle. Can he get the braincell?
