I've been going to Isla since 1985 and it has gotten much busier, but what hasn't. It's still a great vaca. I was just there for ten days before Christmas (great time to go). Golf carts have gone WAY up since this post, some want $100.00 U.S. and more per day, shop around. The best thing I have ever done there is in summer, snorkeling with Whale sharks, unforgetable, well worth whatever the price.
I went once during my trip and it was the most beautiful beach I've ever visited. I would recommend staying here if you're not one to party and stay late on the mainland. They also have some delicious açaí at Cafe Mogagua.
We stayed on Isla Mujeres for a week in Feb 2017. Loved it, and have done day visits since. Agree about the shopping, but we bought a beautiful hammock there after some comparison shopping. Punta Sur is amazing, and it’s crazy how different the terrain is on such a small island. Get a golf cart and explore! ❤
We've visited isla mujeres twice on separate holidays to can cun, we hired golf carts, went to the turtle sanctuary, drove the entire island easily because it is so small. Drove past the naval base etc ! And I purchased a pass to go on the zip wire from a beach complex down onto the beach which was good fun, the island and beaches are absolutely beautiful 😍
Wish we could've done a day trip here, the weather was not cooperating so we worried it would be a waste of time and money. We probably would have been fine, next time for sure!! Thank you for your fantastic videos! We are native Californians who were terrified of coming to Mexico but after watching your videos and having so many friends recommend going we took the plunge. Best trip ever! We are hooked now!
This was the best part of my visit to Cancun. The beaches in Cancun were dirty. I wish that I would have stayed on the island. The beaches are perfect, and it's so much fun to zip around on a golf cart!
Do an AirB&B for a week on the island. Two things will happen. 1) you will never stay in Cancun again, and 2) you will never do an all inclusive in Mexico again.
Just got back. Went for Mardi Gras/Carnival. Quiets down a lot after but still crowded. It's 2024. Everything's pricier. Gets old hearing people bitch about that. It's an amazing island. Just go and have a nice time.
Great video ! We were there last Wednesday - taking a day trip from our Resort. We didn't do any research but got lucky and did most of what you mentioned in the video, We travelled by the Ferry, hired a Golf Cart and drove to Punta Sur to look around the Temple area, then found a nice place to eat, Caribbean Garden, about half way up on the right side of the island. Our only regret is the beach area we found, Playa Centro, could have been better if we had looked on the North West side of the island. My son bought a painted skull 🤣, bringing the shop seller down from 1000 Peso's to just 500 ! 👍👍 Will defo go back there again if we visit Mexico in the future.
We had a similar experience to what you describe as your first time going there. It was uncomfortably crowded and touristy. Also my wife had a hard time because of limited to no bathrooms and lines at the store to buy water. Was offered a golf cart for $100. I definitely should have done research because with some planning I would have better known what to do but it was a spontaneous day trip. Also maybe the resort were we booked should have warned us. We ended up hoping on the next ferry and going back to our resort in Cancun. Just have to know what to expect there and what you want to do and be comfortable with the crowds and touristy environment.
@@3Days3Noches with so many options it is hard to narrow it down. We would say for breakfast, North Garden. For pizza would be Oscars. A nice steak dinner Limón and for Italian, De Nuccios
Arrived at Barcelo Riviera Maya yesterday. Beaches are nice. Almost no algae. Thanks for making videos about it. The place is as amazing as you let us imagine. Food is also great, went to Caribbean restaurant yesterday.
We just went mid sept, Cancun was a blast, all inclusive, we loved it at the lIve Aqua, We spent a day on the island, ate and played at a great place called Kin Ha, Was a little tricky to find, but were so glad we did, Great food, and a dock with free water sports ect.!!! We are already planning our return. Thanks For the videos! Maybe we will see you there !!
Thank you for this review. We are planning to visit the island next week. Would you recommend taking the ferry with our rental car with us, or book a day trip to from one of the tour companies and just rent a golf cart?
We leave for our first ever Cancun trip on Tuesday and I JUST found your channel! I’m going to be watching all weekend. Thank you for all the great advice! We are staying at Sun Palace and I want to take a day trip to Isla Mujeres. My boyfriend is hesitant to go anywhere off property. What would you suggest?
Hey there. Am fan of you for a wihle. I was there for a day only. I didnt enjoy much at all. So crowdy and couldnt find the praia norte.. so am plaining to come back feb or march like 2 years back last time but the water was a bit.. cold. Am waching you at night on my free time to learm more about it and dont make mistakes again. Am in New york ❤ also when its a best time to go anyway for me to plan 👍👍

It depends! If you’re looking to avoid crowds then off season is Sept-Nov but it’s also rainy season. If you want good weather and don’t care about crowds. Jan-March
I am going to be traveling there very soon. Can anyone who’s been there let me know: Is there a quiet beach where I can look for seashells or Seaglass or just do some quiet beachcombing for treasures in the sand?🤞🏼🤞🏼😎
I really want to go to Cancun; however, I have reservations about vacationing there due to safety concerns. I'm a bit scared. Could you please provide some advice? Also is February a good month to stay in cancun?
That’s a great month. I did a few videos about this. It’s just like any travel destination. There’s always risks we’ve never had an issue and feel safer there than Newark, Nj
I use Viator for all my tours. Just choose ones that have 4.5 stars or better with a lot of reviews! Also read the reviews and all the details!!! Most tours will provide transportation but then you have to pick up other people from resorts too fyi. www.viator.com/tours/Isla-Mujeres/Isla-Mujeres-Real-and-Full-Snorkeling-experience-VIP-in-very-small-group/d50820-8928P9?pid=P00070138&mcid=42383&medium=link&medium_version=selector

Do you get insurance (damage/liability) for the golf cart or is it less formal than that?
I think you can add it but we didn’t 😅
