I've been to Isla four times, and always end up eating at my 5-6 favorite places. You've provided several more yummy (& much-cheaper) places to try on my next trip... Thank you all so much!

Hi Brady! To answer your question the circular spiner where they cook the meat, ( for the tacos,al pastor) it is called "TROMPO" best regards, safe travels 👊🏽✌🏽
MANGO CAFE: They tried to take my credit card and stole my money there just this morning. The waiter wanted to walk away with it and I said no after saying 15% tip, so I came up with him to the cash. He told the cashier to charge me MORE and I caught them. The manager came out after saying she didn't want to. I made her. I got a full refund. They are slime!
WOW! That is one thing I would love to do: a food trip in Isla Mujeres. Or a food trip anywhere, even in my current home city! You enjoy (as you obviously do!). Keep safe.
I am just loving your Isla Mujeres videos! I was there for 3 days in 2019, with the intention of going back spring 2020, and then the world turned upside down, lol. So, I'm finally planning my next trip this December, staying this time for 7 days, wahoo! I'm leaning toward an airbnb in La Gloria and renting a golf cart for the week. I'm like you- I loooove just riding around in the cart. This food video really helps- I'm a solo traveler and sometimes finding and trying unfamiliar places is intimidating, but being able to see the places and the food like this- I'm excited to try all the different places this time around!
Where do you rent your golf cart from? Going in January but can only do a day trip to the Island :( I've found some options but would love a referral based on experience for a one-day rental. PS I plan to do a solo trip in spring/summer of 2022, it will be my first.
@@lauriegrube007 Hi Laurie! Well, I only did it the one time, and I wouldn't use that company again, lol (Luxury - the cart just didn't run well and I didn't know better to take it straight back to them). My trip for this month didn't pan out- crossing my fingers for next year! Anyway, I see lots of people seem to like Prismo, Indios, and Gomar (at least from what I see in the Facebook groups I'm in). When I go again, I'll likely rent from one of these companies, and the tips I've gotten is to drive it around the block as soon as get it, and take it back if it's not smooth running or doesn't seem to have much power, and to take pictures of the cart when they hand you the keys, so they see that you have proof of what it looked like all around the cart- sometimes people have had issues with them trying to charge for "damage" that was already there. Have an amazing trip!!
Those chicken wings from Rubens looked good. The best chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life, came from isla mujeres, of all places. A little reggae bar called the joint. Cheyenne wings on point!
Thanks for the recommendations! Excited to check them out in a couple weeks when I head over from Playa. (The bananas Nutella crepe is called a marquesita here ☺️)
You are going to love it!! It depends on the day and how busy it is but you should be able to find parking close enough to anywhere you want to go. There is a main walking street with a ton of restaurants so you do have to walk to get to those but that’s all part of the fun!
@@monteiro.naluiza The food was very reasonably priced. The quality was great and it was so nicely plated. We will definitely go back there again. It was the best food we had on the island.
Chaya and Cacao is a good restaurant. Did Lori tell you she started the Mango Cafe with Polo? Then she went on to own Restaurant Lola Valentina. p.s. Your kids are delightful.
Great video but I just *really* wish you would share the price for each meal. I'm looking at the food with no clue if I'd actually be getting it or not. I'm going to Isla Mujeres for tall of March, so probably will be keeping a budget like you guys alluded to, just not getting a sense of what that budget should be from this content Thanks the for the video!
Can I pay with American credit card? If yes, would that be the same price or they raise the price? I watched some videos mentioning that some restaurants charge more if paid with American card. I’ll be there next week. Thanks
There is a strong preference for cash and maybe half of the places don’t accept credit. But in our experience no one charges extra for credit. But withdrawing cash at the bank atms is easy and I would recommend cash as some of the better options only accept cash
Great ideas, looks like a lot of fun but what are the names of these restaurants???? Many of the places did not have any names to match. "Splashing" the name of the restaurant at the beginning of each individual restaurants would be helpful. Otherwise you guys look like you had a lot of fun during this family vacation.
TRy to avoid pork. Turkey bacon is delicious. Merida too hot. I love Acapulco and Queretaro. I do not like the earthquakes in Acapulco. I do not like onions or tamales with lard. Flour totillas are lard, so eat corn totillas. I have been coming to Mexico for over 60 years. My favorite take outs are t steak tacos, Pollo Feliz, and Red Snapper dinner all to go
Enjoy from Queretaro. Wrong to Strong on youtube gives you a 1st person view of Mexican and USA prisons. I watch so many Isla videos, it's my home away from home. Thanks for the amazing video.
makes me hungry for Mexican food. What a fantastic way to spend a lot of time.
It's mostly crap. I've been in Mex for 6 months and have had about 3 good meals.
It really is paradise isn’t it,food, hospitality, etc.
That's exactly how flautas are supposed to be eaten 😁
This was a particularly fun video!
Haha! Glad we got it right! Thanks!!!
Going to Isla in a few months this video definitely gave me more confidence with the local food! Thanks!

Honestly don’t remember the name of the place but there are so many places!!
enjoy your trip
Hope there are healthy options there… this looks a bit to indulgent for me… fried food, sugar, etc … 😮
I would enjoy your informative vlogs more if you mapped out the restaurants on a simple map. Still a fan.
Great video and, I had to giggle a little about what one of the girls was doing in the background at the Green Verde. The things we did as kids 🤣

Golf carts are hassle free at about $55 usd per 24 hour rentals. More or less. It is possible to negotiate a bit
