Caline Snake Bite Reverb Demo playthrough (no talking)

  • I recently got a Caline CP-26 Snake Bite Reverb pedal. It's a good sounding reverb, that gets you a room sound up to a big cavern type reverb. I like the fact that you can control the tone and pre delay.
    All in all a pedal worth considering if you're not looking for more 'crazy' sounds such as reverse and shimmer reverbs. The amp I used was ToneLib GFX, with compression, saturation and a little EQ.

    FINALLY!!! Someone who actually knows how to demo a reverb! Demos where the player just plays long, sustained chords completely hide the subtleties of a reverb. Playing short, staccato notes as done in this video really shows how the reverb sounds. Great job!

    • @RudyBressers
      @RudyBressers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Indeed I always try to get some short sounds in there when demoing a verb so you can really hear the reverb tail and how it develops. Glad you liked it!

    After the actual tone of the reverb effect, and low noise characteristics, the next most important function (to me) is having pre-delay. It separates the hazy, wavy effect from the original note (the same as with natural reverberation). This helps keep the reverb from just being a tail of the original sound hanging off the note. And you can adjust how much of that separation to do or don't want.
    Most reverbs don't offer this feature. Nice that this one does.

    Great demo! Really showed off the pedal. You helped seal the deal on this. Ordered this tonight.
    Did some research and this is the only affordable reverb that controls the actual aspects of the reverb. You don't get 9 sounds, but I only want one. A good one. This sounds good, and you can really dial it in to a lot of different 'types' of reverbs. I'm just getting into more ambient music and this seems like it's going to do the trick nicely.
    One of the things all these pedals try to do is hit you with all these different algorithms.
    I want one that sounds good, not digital, that I can dial from slapback to cavern.
    Can't wait!

      Hi Matt, thanks for the comment! Glad to hear I could help making the final decision. You're very right, one of the key features of this reverb is that you have only 1 type of reverb, but it's a good sounding reverb. Some of the more affordable reverbs try to cram in every possible reverb sound under the sun and they end up sounding pretty cheap. This has a lot of range and you can tweak the sound to your liking. I hope you enjoy it a lot!

    • @ralphhathaway-coley5460
      @ralphhathaway-coley5460 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These also have another advantage whilst they were affordable as new, but now turn up on the secondhand market as cheap as chips. So you can now buy a second and have stereo reverb!

    I owned one a few months ago. The combination of 6 knobs allows a wide panel of settings. It takes time to explore the possibilities and this video helps me to list some nice settings. Thank you then.
    I much love clean sounds with a little bit of Hotone choir chorus and short Rocktron delay. But the Snake Bite is one of these catchy pedals that can run alone.
    Maybe one day I'll get the Joyo Atmosphere too, for the subtle effects you can add to the trail.
    Greetings from France

    • @RudyBressers
      @RudyBressers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! That will come down to personal preference I think. The Boss has a bit of a metallic sound/character sometimes, it depends if that's something you're looking for or not.. If you plan to use the reverb mostly when recording, you could also look at some plugins?
