90% of the time its the shift sensor mounted on the shift motor plate and/or the shift motor itself. Always perform the reset procedure every time anything is unplugged. It's more than likely that the shift motor connector or the sensor connector was corroded and when you unplugged it, then plugged it back in, actually cleaned the connection enough to work properly again. I've seen that be the case more than you'd think in older machines. Using Dielectric grease in the connectors will keep that from happening.
@@mxfever6956 hi sir , everything still works fine on your foreman? I've been having shifting problems thats intermittent. My 450es is plugged on a intelligent charger all year long so i know for a fact its not the battery. It shifts perfectly until i push my quad by hand and then when i climb on it , it will only shift up to the fifth but not comming down less than 2nd or first gear. at this point , i have to shut the key off. put it on again , put it back to neutral and start it again. when i do so, its flawles again. At all times , i hear the shift motor when i press a knob even if it dosent shift, but very rarelly, it'll go completely dead. i,ll press up or down and it will no longer trigger the shift motor. I,ll shut the key off, start it again and it will work perfectly again! Could it be the angle sensor thinking i'm in a hill situation and its not allowing me to shift in order to not break the trans ???
I have Exactly the same problem down shifting. Thanks for giving me a place to start and probably the fix!!! Cheers.
