    Thank you! I've watched like 20 videos to get an easier way to do 1/1 cables and none of them were explained as clearly as yours.

    Thank you, your little cheat makes far more sense for the LC & RC than all the other instructions out here. Now I can go on with my sock pattern. I’m not even attempting to cable just a decorative stitch on a sock pattern. I’m saving this video. Thank you. Thank you.

    Ohhhh, I wish I'd seen this when I was struggling with the Lacunae socks pattern (it's on Ravelry ... if anyone tries it watch out for the technique described here which will help a lot but also for how much crossed sts/cables reduce the elasticity of the sock and that you might want to size up). Gave you a thumbs up!

    Your method is excellent! I've seen 3 other variations, and yours is the best.

      Thank you for this very clear tutorial. I have searched and searched for RC and LC. Your instructions provide the best technique.

    Fabulous for socks, too, or any 1/1 cable. I used this technique yesterday on the Little Fairies Cowl I knit. I shan't use a cable needle ever again for 1/1's!

      It's very helpful! I'm not sure how it would look in a different all over pattern (like, it may look different if it's followed or preceded by a yarn over?) but it's soooo much easier, and it looks pretty terrific in the overall pattern I used.

      @@maryannarella I'll give it a try and let you know when I knit a project that has a yo prior or after.

    Thank you very much for your tutorial, which is very helpful. I was wondering, for the 1/1 LC, as we are knitting through the back loop, doesn't the stitch end up twisted? It doesn't matter much, as it is the behind stitch, but I am knitting a pretty loose cardigan with lace yarn, so it may show... Thank you very much for your reply!

    Oh my goodness! I started the daydreamer by Andrea mowry and the cables were starting to drive me crazy. I figured out the left (by going through the back of the second stitch) but not the right. I and so excited to try this this looks so much easier than what I was doing 😀

    I'm working on the Knights Who Say Knit wrap and I've noticed a small hole between the cables, I think maybe because the first stitch on the right cheat is in front of the loop of working yarn on the back of the work, rather than behind it like it would be with a cable needle? Is this supposed to happen, or have I missed a step somewhere?

    I’d love to make a baby blanket using this stitch. Can you give me a pattern for about a 30”x30” blanket? Thank you

    That's a phantastic technique. Is it possible to work this way with 3/3 LC / RC or more?

    • @maryannarella
      @maryannarella  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would only use it when crossing only 2 sts. Otherwise, you have to pull your yarn around severak sts, and I suspect that will "cluster" them and not allow the cable to lie properly. I mean, it'll possibly look cool, but it might not be the cable look that you were aiming for.

    I really need to learn this but so much idle chit chat.

    • @maryannarella
      @maryannarella  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people actually need the chit chat as a set up for the technique--it helps them learn. Everyone has a different learning style, and I strive to meet as many of those different styles as I can.
