Great review Jay. I like the "live review" type thing, it seems unscripted and your vast knowledge/experience on the topic is very apparent (apparant?). Keep it up!
I recently purchased this case to do a pretty epic water cooling build. I believe i am going somewhere with this case that no one else has which will be quite awesome... Hopefully it works out the way i plan because i believe this case has a lot of potential. Also love your videos i have been watching a lot of them. They have been a big help to me!
I cant stop laughing at what you said at 6:43 "well that just popped right off there dont ya know" I honest keep playing this video from that time. Every time i laugh...
It can fit a ton of drives but CM are not seriously expecting anyone to populate every drive location (just imagine trying to cable them all up and keep it tidy !) they are all just options so you are not tied to a single fixed location. I am not a fan of CM cases either, I prefer Silverstone by far !
William Ly There are lots of 'nice' cases but finding one that suits your exact requirements can be tricky. That's the problem with most case makers, they try to cover too many options and it all gets a bit muddled. That's why I like Silverstone, they are no nonsense with few compromises and don't try to offer every possible option in every case, they keep it simple.
Still using this amazing case. Got it in like 2014 and it's still the best of the best. There are some cool cases with like full swing-open glass doors and allt hat, but I keep mine under the desk so don't really need that anyway. This thing is a beast...filters all over that you can clean out for years, tons of HD space, fits everything. BTW I put 2x 140mm fans on top. I don't remember how I did it but it really didn't take much effort to do it. I'll probably use this case the rest of my life tbh. It looks like a damn racecar or something. Haven't seen much like it in over a decade now.
I bought one of this like 1 month ago going to build an old school pc .. i really like how this coolermasteres looked.. will build a Creator workstation 😁
I REALLY liked this case. But I ultimately went with the 650D from Corsair. I liked the latches over thumbscrews, and the hot swap-able bay up top. Still might buy this for another build though.
I am also the little brother in my family, and when you said the part about little brothers being annoying, my older brother just kind of got this, "Huehehhehehe itz truueeee" Look on his face. >.< Great video btw :D
This would probably be good for a NAS like you said...lots of storage for sure. BTW...I noticed that your music permissions are for audiomicro.com. I was looking for audio for TH-cam and checked them out but MAN are they expensive, how to you manage to use them and pay those fees???
In the default configuration with 2 cages and SSD adapters, you can fit in 12 SSDs in the 900D. Add in 3 more cages and you are up to 30 in there. So I am not sure I would say this wins there.
I personally really like this case because I don't use a lot of hardware in my own computer. The worst thing my pc does is game and watch movies. So I think a nice graphics card and a good cpu would make most people happy with this case.
Seems like every case cooler master makes has that mesh plastic stuff on the front. They really need to release a minimalist case like the fractal R4 that looks halfway decent. I'd buy it. Especially if it had sound deadening.
I want to see a case with only 2 HHD/SSD slots from the factory. I'd be willing to bet that most people don't use more than 2. I can't think of a reason that anyone would need 16-18 SSD slots...
Ian Clarke if i could get my hands on 18 SSDs and some high end RAID cards i would totally fill that case up with a theoretical read speed of 9GB/s IT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
An M-ATX mobo only has 4 PCIe slots max and usually only one of them is X16 with one X8 and one or two PCI slots, you can either have a GPU or a monster RAID config, maybe you want to use an APU instead of a GPU ?
J, I am getting the Thermaltake Level 10 GT, It has 5 "Hot-Swappable" drive bays. ... Is what I am wanting to know is, What would one want Hot-Swappable HDD's or SSD's for ? .... Wouldn't one tend to mount a HDD, and just leave it alone? .... I am wondering, if this Gaming case, because of the 5 Hot-Swappable bays, has some potential that I am not aware of.
If anyone wants to know a good starting case for first time builders the spec 02 by corsair is pretty good has a lot of airflow and cable management is pretty decent for its price at $59.99 or cheaper used.
A somewhat relevant tech question. I have 2 storage drives, one for OS and normal stuff, the other for games and media only. My games crash at random times (Never at startup, usually after 10-20 minutes). Sometimes I can play a game for hours on end, sometimes it takes 10-20 minutes for the game to crash, it's quite random, and frustrating when it happens. Has anyone here had a similar issue?
How loud is this case? I used to have a older coolermaster that pushed air through by sheer force but was loud as F*ck! still have the case, unused currently all metal too.
Why do low-mid end case manufactures always give support for so many drives? It's not really a bad thing, but if you aren't spending much on a case you probably won't have more than 1-2 3.5 inch drives...
Hello JayzTwoCents, I want your advice on water cooling. I've never done a custom kit for water cooling and I want to water cool my GPU and CPU. What "hardware" or equipment would you recommend for a noob or beginner for me. Thank you in advance :D
Great Review but somethings you said bugged me, like u saying its a bad thing that an E-ATX mobo wont fit in it but thats what it's marketed, thats its purpose to exist as a product. You call it the little brother of a E-ATX case then of cause it wont fit a E-ATX mobo. This case aims at the people that don't need a massive case or a like mid tower to cart around. But hey keep up the good work and bringing light to good products.
***** haha, im guessing you wanted to fit it out for the review but couldn't. I'm a mid tower guy and that is sick but my Bitfenix Raider is still going strong. ***** hmm didnt know it was 1st marketed as a full tower, might have just copied and pasted from the other Cosmos. how knows :D
Norman the Owl i cant believe he had 226kg :o and at least if he had so much bravo that don't have any more:) not best fit but healthy and that is most important:)
i have this case. if i will place a 240 rad on top and will have push-pull config, will it be better to orient the fans as intake outside the case (push on top, pull on bottom), or the other way around? i will have four fans installed between the hd cages, two in front, another two behind it. thanks *****
lol the definition of the more money than brains PC case. this is for the rich person who walks in the computer store and asks for a computer with 64gb of ram and 15TB of flash memory thinking thats what makes a PC faster.
Most people will use 1 or 2 HDD's. Now there is alot of space wasted on HDD cages which almost no one will use. Because of this you will not be able to install a big GPU. I don't see this case being usefull for alot of people. If you want space for 6 HDD's it's a nice case but i think that's a very small group of people.
Coolermaster lost it in Case Designs since 6 years ago. Even their latest modular case is still far off. If they don't realise what's wrong and correct. They will be like Research in Motion (Blackberry if anyone remembers what they were). If anyone needs an extreme case for hard-drives. Lian-Li, obviously beats this hands down.
Jay video unrelated question, i have a xspc raystorm waterblock (with arctic silver 5 paste), a 240mm xspc radiator and a xspc bayres with built in pump (x20 750) and a i5 4670k overclocked to 4.5 ghz at 1.28V and im getting idle temps of 40°C in a 25°C room (according to realtemp 3.7) is this normal? and should i switch to a alphacool nexxxos xp³ light acetol waterblock wich i had in mind?
I enjoy your channel and Jerry's too; however, this case review just felt off... as if it were an incentive based overview. For the life of me, I just can't manage to shake the suspicion of a paid scenario to hype a case that's been around the block more than a few times. This case holds no mystery that hasn't been hammered out online, but that's not what's signalling the red flags. The double talk, body language, off topic puns, overall pace of the video, and otherwise bizarre behavior. Every remark that bordered on a negative comment was nervously thought through. just noticed that jay always sits down when he does his reviews. But Linus always stands up
More case reviews please. This was a very good review in my opinion and I think your style is well suited for it.
Great review Jay. I like the "live review" type thing, it seems unscripted and your vast knowledge/experience on the topic is very apparent (apparant?). Keep it up!

Great review jay!
I can't tell you how many times my friends have told me, "Man, I would buy 12 more SSDs, but my case just doesn't have enough space!"
Definitely still enjoying my 760T. Threw out all hard-drive cages and used one SSD cage :)
I cant stop laughing at what you said at 6:43 "well that just popped right off there dont ya know" I honest keep playing this video from that time. Every time i laugh...
I have an original cosmos case from 2007. It was my dad's but now I'm going to make a custom gaming PC with him in it :D
It can fit a ton of drives, but sucks because you gotta remove those racks if you want to use a full size graphics card.
I hate this case.
It can fit a ton of drives but CM are not seriously expecting anyone to populate every drive location (just imagine trying to cable them all up and keep it tidy !) they are all just options so you are not tied to a single fixed location.
I am not a fan of CM cases either, I prefer Silverstone by far !
***** their budget cases (n series n200 etc) are pretty good, but the rest i agree, apart from the 690, are pretty bad compared to equivalents.
***** I think NZXT also have some nice case out there.
William Ly

Redline RL04b has been great for me.
Great review.Please continue reviewing cases
7:10 they do have a vented thing you can put in there instead of those ones that pop out. It even has a filter in it.
Still using this amazing case. Got it in like 2014 and it's still the best of the best. This case is my baby
Felicia Larsen still good?
still very good indeed ( ' 3')b
Very nice-looking case!
i am CRYING when he said well that just poped right off there dont ya know for some odd reason that was hilarious to me
I'm a recent subscriber. Love your videos! The quality is getting better and better. Keep it up Jay!
I do like the look of the case and like the handles
I thought this was the original Cosmos at first and was surprised at how big Jay is.
Corsair Air 540 review anytime in the future?
I bought one of this like 1 month ago going to build an old school pc .. i really like how this coolermasteres looked.. will build a Creator workstation 😁
This is a great case for slowmotion capture at extreme speeds. Slowmotion can change seconds of footage into hours
I REALLY liked this case. But I ultimately went with the 650D from Corsair. I liked the latches over thumbscrews, and the hot swap-able bay up top. Still might buy this for another build though.
6:40 Hahaha! Popped right off there don't ya know?
I am also the little brother in my family, and when you said the part about little brothers being annoying, my older brother just kind of got this, "Huehehhehehe itz truueeee" Look on his face. >.< Great video btw :D
Damm, the diss on Corsair and the 900D.
This would probably be good for a NAS like you said...lots of storage for sure. BTW...I noticed that your music permissions are for audiomicro.com. I was looking for audio for TH-cam and checked them out but MAN are they expensive, how to you manage to use them and pay those fees???
The haf stacker and actually stacking a few would be a lot of hdd mounting spots. But not a very good form factor, that would be a huge case ;)
Very cool case.
Nice video really detailed!
I love my Cosmos 2 but I hope the Cosmos 3 will have better space for radiators at the top.
In the default configuration with 2 cages and SSD adapters, you can fit in 12 SSDs in the 900D. Add in 3 more cages and you are up to 30 in there. So I am not sure I would say this wins there.
The Cosmos 2 is actually bigger than it needs to be. I've seen reviews on it, and there is a lot of space you can't even use.
WOW, 8 HDD or 18 SSD that alot & Love to get it... Both the case & all the SSD or HDD...
7:33 "radiator cages" xD
I personally really like this case because I don't use a lot of hardware in my own computer. The worst thing my pc does is game and watch movies. So I think a nice graphics card and a good cpu would make most people happy with this case.
now it is time to do a 18 SSD RAID build
I recommend removing a lot of the hard drive racks because they sort of restrict airflow
Next! which case is better?
i have a Cooler master Storm trooper best case ever!!!!
Do SSDs have a different mounting system to standard hard drives? I was under the impression that they were made to fit standard size hardrive bays.
Nice video, how about if you have large graphics cards will they fit ok?
@JayzTwoCents what about the part with the 2 thumb screws under the fan on the back what is that used for?
It's like a clown car for SSDs....
Hahaha. Best analogy I've heard This year, hands down.
You mean clown's pocket, right?

They are not all meant to be populated, they are there to give you options.
Can you imagine the cable mess of 18 SSD's ?

Ian Clarke it is ATX so i can use a ATX Mobo
I'm pretty sure he says it isn't. Even so there are only 5 openings for PCI cards and you need 2 for the GPU
did i hear at 1:41 the nepton 180??? wuuuuuttt
Can you do a review for the cm storm scout 2 advanced?
Can you review the Corsair Spec-02 Case?
J, I am getting the Thermaltake Level 10 GT, It has 5 "Hot-Swappable" drive bays. ... Is what I am wanting to know is, What would one want Hot-Swappable HDD's or SSD's for ? .... it supports a 360 rad in the front
If anyone wants to know a good starting case for first time builders the spec 02 by corsair is pretty good has a lot of airflow and cable management is pretty decent for its price at $59.99 or cheaper used.
some cases fit e-atx, even the manual says they not.
I LIKE IT.
Cooler Master Storage Edition. (SE)
that intro though
Stopped watching @ 0:48, I'm looking for a water-cooling based case to fit my Rampage V E:(
you guys should look at the phanteks Enthoo Pro(Or the luxe). it's such a good case!
I would love to but I have no contact with them, and I am trying to reduce my case inventory, not buy more!
I know I just bought the luxe and I cannot wait until it gets here. I'm going to do a custom loop in it.I thank Jay for the inspiration to do so.
thanck you master for not revieviewing the fu.... boxes like linus lol you are the MAN :D
how much longer is the e-atx format going to be needed?? with everthing going to a smaller size is it a soon to be dead format? i use a rog e-atx..
this video is 12:40 min long, 12/40 is 0.3, I realized this 10 minutes in, 0.3 x 10 = 3. half life 3 confirmed
What!
is there REALLY a big diffrence in ssd and hdd and is it worth it to pay that much all i really do is game?
Can you try and do the cooler master haf stacker 935 please
I already did. You need to search the channel before asking :)
***** oh okay i wasnt sure because i was getting mixed up with you n linus

Rambi Ninethousand servers, back up data, etc
This may turn out to my next case. I want to be able to put a load of 2tb ssd's in the system for massive storage.
Check out the original cosmos
the upper light bar of the HDD active does not work in my pc doesnt any help please?

18 SSD's? Why? For the love of God why?

18 ssds in raid 0. holy shit
Exactly.
I agree. But I wouldn't use SSDS for raid 10 that's for sure. Too rich for my blood
Nice. I have a single SSD for OS
***** Raid 10s for bitches raid 50 all the way :D
I like this case alot but the top handles put me off.
Couldnt help from laughing at the midwestern accent

Unfiltered dust holes on the pcie brackets and everywhere else; dumb
Such a sexy case..
For the price, this case is no bueno.
***** Cryptominers don't need fast hard drives. Coins are just a few numbers long. We would want 6 graphics cards to make more coins.
