I just sat here in wow as you started the weathering ... the "chipping" just blew my mind ... it was real time perfect chips! And that tire change! damn Matt, I cannot believe how 10 minutes work made that model look like the real thing so much more! Absolutely amazing work! Ive never seen anything like this before ... i still wow'd from it!
That looks so amazing, put that in a scale background, and you could mistake it for a 1:1. You need another one fresh out of the box for a side by side shot! Thanks.
The details are getting so good. You should see my 1:1 scale Subaru Outback.🤣 it’s so detailed… even down to the McDonald’s French fries under the seat…
A nicely detailed truck and the weathering finishes it off. I’ve just started to weather my first truck, using a Vallejo Rust and Streak set and its looking good. Thanks for the great tips 🙏🏻
Well done Matt, as a avid German vehicle modeler you have a great grasp of weathering :) I just finished a 1/48th Kubel for my friend for his birthday and had i seen this...LOL Love the channel and the work you put in!
Dammit, I’ve been stopping myself from hitting the buy button for some weeks now and you just helped me go and do it. Now for another dust collector for the shelves in the home office.
Question, I know you have said it before but where are you buying scale figurines from as the choice down here off the shelf is pretty much non existent.
Cool little car, very cool... Looking forward to see were Fms and Roc hobby go within the hobby, hope they do a traditional "1/10" scale truck in the future. As always your skills show why you are an integral part of SBG. Cheers mate 👍
Great job! Looks awesome. One thing on my Kubelwagon that bugs my OCD is the driver's side exhaust pipe angles down instead of up like the passenger's side (up is correct). The manual shows the exhausts as separate parts & I'm sure I could separate the muffler & rotate it into the correct position.......but only after hours of disassembly to reach it.
Very cool. This could still go crawling........ to the grocery store haha. I like the weathering you gave it. Plus Stan Lee. Needs a stole from Hydra sticker. Because why not.
Hey Matt, I have a figure in one of my rigs that also has a functioning steering wheel. I used John Wick. One trick I did was to cut the figures arm at the elbow, drill a hole on both sides and glue in a pen spring, so like a springy elbow joint. This way when the steering turns, hes arm moves with it. Pretty neat when you see it. Just wanted to share that. Thank you.😀❤
Whoa 😳 that thing is amazing! The details are impeccable! Boy the hobby is definitely getting better and better every year! I have one of those in 1/24 scale made in Checoslovaquia, made out of tin metal. Made by Gonio. I definitely gotta get me one of those!👌😎👍 great video and job doing some final touches to the paint! Looks way better!
I fell hard for the fms 18th scale lineup. All are fun put to there correct usage. Kubelwagen would look amazing in a scale tank column. Your a master of the brush Matt. Always interesting info. Excellent vid. Right On 👊
As much as I love details and such and this hobby, I love RC cars and crawlers and short course, and buggies, truggies, monster trucks , etc. .... You are telling me they couldn't have chosen any OTHER vehicle to make up? Since when has WW2 memorabilia been a RC staple? Military maybe, but specifically a WW2 Nazi made, Nazi famous, STILL to this day NOT denied Nazi sympathetic vehicle, been a RC staple or subject? I know some Panzer tanks and yadda yadda... and Testor models of all sorts... the fascination with the Nazi regime, and it's fashion...needs to be addressed. I am NOT a SJW. By any means. Not at all. But the innocence in this, just can't be. I cannot with good faith, support, or upvote it, or watch this video. People always say "History repeats itself" , this is why. We demonize but GLORIFY the 3rd Reich for it's innovations in science, which was thru terrible, terrible, terrible experiments. Thru MASS exploitation of human life... MASS EXPLOITATION / SLAYING. I know you aren't/weren't expecting this, but maybe you should think about this.... The German Nazi regime belongs in history books, not the commercial shelf - with or without swastikas' . Because that's how they "approve" of this, it has no "Nazi Symbolism".... OH BUT IT DOES! There is NO other vehicles that look like the "Peoples Car" other than what the "Peoples Car" company owns ( Audi and Porsche , and in case you are wondering the "Peoples Car" is VOLKSWAGON - Volks = people, Wagon = Car. Volkswagon was CREATED by the Nazi regime. And yes I boycott NASA to this day as well. We could have succeeded without the Nazi scientist, we "saved" from Operation: Paperclip. Wernher von Braun. Who would hang the slowest 5 Jews in his "PEOPLES CAR" factory gates, or office window. And how "noble" the current US system is that they say" We would hold him accountable , TODAY, if he was alive, for all those Nazi war crimes he committed, and we KNEW about 60+ years ago...) They only say that for 2 reasons : 1,We got what we WANTED from him 2, he's dead now. I just don't want to see this evil vile regime make it's way into the hobby arena. I know it's already here, I just don't want it popularized even more so ..... I really hope you see and read this. I understand a lot of our products come from the Oppressive CCP, and I don't support that either. But there is a conscious choice here. And we ALL need to make it.
Definitely looking forward to more "technique videos" in the future - thanks for the great ideas
You got it! Thanks for watching!
I do love their bodies! Great attention to detail for sure.
And there you have it, Matt's Class 1 Rig for Nationals!
you should make your own version with a trx4 chassis. Great review.

Yup, it looks awesome. Y'all have a badass day 🤘
The Kubelwagon A large group was shipped out with a extra engine in the front ( with a large amount of the vehicle in Africa)
Greta weathering. It looks even better now.
I like the quick lesson on weathering. I'd like to pick up a few things from ya. Thanks!!!
Great demonstration of different techniques
RocHhobby us 1/6th scale collectors need this in 1/6th version as the willy's jeep!!!
Bro I agree with you opening statement
Nice work and nice products.
Looks great. Kinda funny hat you make your tires look like mine when they needs to be cleaned. Lol
Excellent video and review. I love the weathering technique.
Thank you!

Right on!
Nice video, I have Kübelwagen from Tamiya in 1/16, whole painted by myself 😁

Yet another awesome video sir! We are very lucky to have you!
And I am lucky to have you watching! Happy New Year!
Great model, awesome touch ups!!!

I just looked for 6" action figures on Amazon. Always a good place to start.
I'm definitely loving the FMS brand. I didn't quite have enough bank account for the Jimny, so I got the 1/18 scale Land cruiser, and it's fantastic!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching!
That is excellent! Thanks for sharing. Cheers

I hope so too!
Great review
I remember when this was released to the civilian market by Volkswagen as the Thing.
I need one of those in my collection . i bought the 6th scale 41 willies its very nice . Just don't fit in with my tanks and other 12 scale .
Best Rc channel for 2021.
Happy New Year's! 👏
Thanks!!! Happy New Year to you as well!
@@scalebuildersguild You're welcome love that new printer of yours those wheels have to be spinning.🤔🙄🙂🙋♂️
Really nice job.

Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
“It just kinda… plops.”
Hilarious!
Thanks for watching!
Great looking car, weathering adds that little bit extra! But hey, who are you kidding, I see a 1/12-scale Kubelwagen build in your future 😉
Thanks for watching!
Nice work as always!

Great mod! Once I decide where Stan is going to stay, I'll try the same! Thanks!
Fun review and cool how-to, asmr style 'bob rossing' all the way, nice one and thank you. Leaving my big like for sure :-)
Thank you 🤗
Nice weathering, wish it had the original style hubcaps...

Can you please do a video on your gray scx24 JLU. 25
Peak SBG right here
Thanks my friend!
Would make a great Volkswagen Thing

Lee definitely belongs in that truck! Perfect for him lol
tamiya saco uno hace años 1/16 Scale RC German Kubelwagen Type 82
nice car
Thanks!
Nice weathering 💪🏾💯
Thanks 💯
just for historical purpose, I think the kubel wagon was only 2wd, giving an advantage to the willys. cool video anyway 😉
I’m pretty sure the real thing was really only ever RWD, but I understand why they added optional 4WD for performance.
Will you be weathering the interior as well?
It got some!
How much time would you estimate was spent on weathering?
Maybe an hour, tops.
May I know which is better at off road, this or the fms 1/12 willy
I'd suggest neither. They're both only suited to light trails.
Ok 👍
but does it drift?
Sad as it is, the real thing never had 4WD. You had to go to the Schwimmwagen for that.
Check out Stan Lee ha ha ha
It's so difficult to get rc capability and decent accurate detail, but both thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
Wonder what chassis that body would fit on? H m m m
I think you'll be disappointed to find that it's unibody, of sorts.
What scale is Stan Lee 👍🏼
9th scale.
Thank you
I know this is 1/12 scale, is the Stan Lee figure also? If not, do you happen to know? Or better yet, do you know the height in inches of the figure?
Figure is 6 inches tall, maybe a little less because it's Stan.
@@scalebuildersguild Thank you!
Stan Lee needs to shift it into "h"!.... FYI German cars don't rust...they just get drunk drunk at Oktoberfest.
Quit making me learn!!! I already want an airbrush!!!
Kubelwagen is wrong it is a Kübelwagen with an Ü
Look at the title of the video.
@@scalebuildersguild i see but i am german and believe me or not it is a kübelwagen.
@@chriswalter4887 Yes! I know! Hence the proper spelling in the title of the video!!
