Who needs a commentary? Who needs background music? The best soundtrack you can ever have is here... A British-Made Ford Escort on the limit, with its exhaust note rasps, and the gurgle of gravel being swept away by its rear tyres! When rally-drivers where men, and rallies where an epic 5 day stretch. Respect.
When the RAC was a proper rally through the several nights and covered the whole country -Scotland Wales and England . It was tough act to follow it across country but worth it ----the sound in a forest in the middle of the night was awesome
Love it! Every bit as exiting to watch as Group B in my opinion. The Escort had the best sounding inline 4 cylinder engine ever. And the Stratos had the best sounding V-6 as well.
Wow, i've seen clips of Roger Clark as he was kinda coming to the end of his era, but this is first i've seen of him all in so to say. Spectacular there in those cars. Thankyou for posting this.
Good God!!!!!,the blare of the BDA at 8,000 rpm stills brings a lump to the throat and the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. The Mk2 BDA RS 'Scort is right up there with the Supermarine Spitfire/Rolls-Royce Merlin for two of the most iconic engine sounds ever heard. of the most awsome and fantastic engine souds
worst thing ever was to limit rallies to three days, the lombard rac had men growing balls as they competed these days they can play via their pc and stay dry..... modern drivers should man up and compete properly
we had the rally cars, the best rallying in the world, keilder craik, yair and more, welsh rally stages, in fact we had it all, the glam rock years, full time jobs, no part time shit,, now its all crap

Roger Clark one of the few British driver in that era who could compete on equal terms with the Flying Finns
Sutton park? No way can't believe I found this.
I JUST LIKED ROGER CLARKS ESCORT
for me one of the best Escort-Driver
Great video, and great comments mostly and for the 2 thumbs down to this point ????????
thanks for sharing.
The Triumph and Lancia look if they came from outer space. The Ford MK2 lookes like something parked in front of the elderly home in Slough.
That ford escort is just nasty fast!
Which is the stage with the very tight hairpin, about 17 seconds in?
worst thing ever was to limit rallies to three days, the lombard rac had men growing balls as they competed these days they can play via their pc and stay dry..... modern drivers should man up and compete properly
Does anyone know where that roundabout was?
The roundabout is at the Ellesmere Port vauxhall motor plant
It's the Cossack Escort from Dirt 2.0!!!!
