When Felip sing this song live in his concert in Ayala Mall bayside. Everytime he mention I drink I smoke, he said don't do it, it's bad. I really admire him saying that. ❤️🇵🇭

And when he performed DRINKSMOKE live to his EP COMPLEX Showcase, instead of saying "I drink, I smoke", he changed the lyrics to "Don't do it. Don't do it. That's bad. That's bad." He also uploaded an IG story singing and changing the lyrics instead to "Don't drink. Don't smoke. That's bad. That's bad." Haha!
The whole COM•PLEX EP talks about the duality or the complexities that we have as a human being. he's giving us a blank canvas for our own interpretations of his music.. I really salute Felip for being himself and not afraid of trying new sound for his craft. Very talented indeed.
He talks about Mental health, however, in real life he doesn't drink and smoke. He talks about what's going on in your mind like what happens when you drink too much and smoke too much. He encourage people especially kids not to drink and smoke because it's bad. He mentioned that in one concert he had.
Hi Chris and Nick. I've linked below a 1:50 min radio interview where Felip was requested to sing a few lines from any of his songs. He sang that part in Criminal where he switches voices. Complex EP is about those complexities we think of when we are alone and just trying to unleash that in the world to be able to free yourself and that its okay to have those negative thoughts but be sure you fight your own weaknesses also like what Felip said Superiority is abour being superior to your own weakness. That is the message of the song. That is why he started it like that feeling a rocksta then superior then a down time in drink smoke and Criminal but then redeeming urself in Straydogs with all that hyping yourself up at then It just goes to show the different levels you go through as a human but at the end you be the boss of your own self and its in your hands to be able to fight all those demons you got inside your head.
I think doing solo projects while still in a group removes the entire stigma of boy bands or any bands for that matter leading into break up of the band when they do solo projects. I think they are really trying to start a trend of doing this like how BTS have their own solo projects as well and other groups. Because this will really give each other their space of individuality that sometimes u loose when ur in a band. So for me it benefits also the band to give each member a time to shine on their own because this will help also their mental health as well as enriching their own talent that they will be able to contribute with group also. So Kudos to all the bands making solo but still sticking with their own band. You guys are doing amazing job!
Please also watch and react to his performance on MYX with his song Criminal, you'll be amazed that the studio version wasn't auto-tuned but those shifts of vocals throughout the song were all him cause he can definitely sing it live. Felip's voice is insane and his vocal range is incredibly wide.

Felip is raised by his grandfather who is a pastor. I don't think he literally meant to promote drinking and smoking. Not to mention that he is allergic to alcohol and sea foods. This song along with SB19's songs used methapors that will allow us to think the meaning beahind it. His voice have a lot of range he can also sing r&b. Check his song Palayo. Apparently, criminal is his actual voice with no auto tune. Filipino singers are not used to auto tunes. Real talent at its finest. Please react to his live performances in rappler, myx and wish bus. that's another angle on "Criminal" as if he is feeling shackled somehow. However, he very much expressed that he loves his brothers (SB19) and he'll die being with the group. Nevertheless, that feeling will be less negative if his brothers came out when his EP came out, but they did not. Due to various reasons out of their control, maybe. But we'll hear about it in the future? or will it die a natural death?
Nah, Pablo and Stell were with him when He produced “Palayo” and “Bulan”. When He got some engagement for “Rocksta” his Kuya Pablo was with him in the audience. So, nah they do support each other. They have supported Stell also in The Voice Generation. The Group SB19 Is solid.

All the different range of voice is all Felip. It's amazing. For some reason, the shifts of voices remind me of Prince.
