Great run down Jeff! I have the original Creed Aventus and love it! Creed sent me a sample of the Aventus cologne and it's very nice as well. Creed puts out quality and this is very subjective, but I also like the original slightly better.
I'm new to the cologne world after not wearing any for 10 years. I must say after watching so many reviews and smelling some of this stuff. I highly suggest getting samples or discovery kits.

I bought the Adventus Cologne along with my usual Original Santal yesterday. Yes, the smell is a little cleaner than the Adventus but I get just as many compliments on the Adventus Cologne as I did on the Adventus. You truly can’t go wrong with either one. I wouldn’t sleep on the “old faithful” Original Santal either, which still garners just as many compliments. Great job as always, O.G.!

If you're concerned with the price (like I was) , buy Club De Nuit Intense Man instead. Everyone will believe it's Creed Aventus. It's a fraction of the cost and smells pretty darn close.

You didn't explain if these are parfumes or eu de parfumes. Which one is oil-based or mildly oil-based with more alcohol content? By the way....Chanel Bleu Parfume is what I wear. I use to wear Creed, but Chanel lasts longer throughout the day!

Love the channel and all the advice BUT Creed Aventus smells like Pinesol and there is absolutely nothing appealing about it. I tried it first hand at Bloomingdales and had the lady spray my right arm with Creed Aventis and another cologne on my left (her recommendation). After walking around for about 30-minutes, I couldn't wait to wash my right arm to get rid of that irritating smell. Quite frankly, it smells like something my father would have worn as an older man trying to be cool. Some people think that Cool Water or Aramis are cool --both smell WHACK and these are likely the people who love this scent. However, the new YSL and Carolina Herrera's Bad Boy suit my taste much better but if you can find Jil Sanders Man (or Men) from the late 90s that drives women bat sh&t crazy. Now they changed the formula so the newer Jil Sanders' cologne line-up just don't have that IMPACT! I actually had a rather high-class lady (Spelman grad with an MBA degree, etc.) lick my neck, saying "MMmmmmmmmmmmmmm!" when I wore the Jil Sanders and I ALWAYS got compliments from strangers when I wore it, even from dudes (yuck). Basically, her face was buried in my neck the entire night and I was like "Well damn!". You can find it still on the web. So in short, DON'T believe the hype as it relates to Creed!

I've never actually smelled Aventus myself but it's been the inspiration to an uncountable number of clones and different takes that it must be good.
