I’m going to Beber Camp in Chicago and I will travel to NY after the Camp! I’m sooo excited because it’s my first year 😋

I feel like "bad experiences" are personal too and only can be deemed bad by an individual. My first experience at an overnight camp was terrible, as I had got infected by a poisonous plant and the camp did not address it correctly-the management was also extremely poor. Having said this, I think camp is a great experience for people of all ages to experience. I love watching your videos, and attempting camp again this summer where I am hoping for a better experience :)

How hot did it get where you were at camp? I know it varies but I can barely survive here when it gets to 25 ahaha so worried about sweating so much if I apply for a sports specialist

hi! i was just wondering when you stopped applying with an agency? you mentioned you used one but you also then said in another video you applied directly to the camp. what would you recommend?

hi! So I’ve used an agency to go to summer camp every single year, even as a direct placement you still need to have an agency (or visa sponsor) as you’d struggle to sort a visa without one! I have used BUNAC as my agency since 2018 and I’m travelling with them to camp this summer too. I was a direct placement when I first applied, I found my camp myself but still needed an agency to help with my visa, hope this helps 🤍

When is the best time to start applying to camps directly?

Will completely depend on the camp! Some camps applications open October/November time! Others in the new year 🫶🏼

Do I actually have to go through an agency as a first timer? I saw that you can just pick different camps and apply directly through their websites. Also I don’t really know why I would spend 500€ on a program when I already have traveling insurance and things like that or am i wrong here?

You need them to sponsor your visa or you can’t legally go to the US and work! :)

Yes! You need a visa sponsor to help you get out to the states, you can still apply directly to camps but you’ll need to sign up with an agency to act as your visa sponsor at some stage. You can ask camps if they can sponsor your visa but not many camps are able to do this!

Hey Vic, I was wondering about how to go about making a direct application? I'm half American but have lived in the UK all my life, I have an American passport though so wouldn't need an agency for sponsorship. Because of this I will be applying direct to camps. I'm just wondering about the layout of the application as I have nothing to go off of, I've heard of some people making a short video of pictures/ evidence of them working in childcare environments etc. Is this something you would recommend adding to a camp application? xx

Hi! So when you go to apply to camps direct there will be an ‘apply now’ section on the website! You would just fill out the application form and answer all the questions there! In terms of a video it completely depends on if that specific camp asks for it, if you can I’d always recommend uploading a video just to showcase your personality as much as possible! Talk about yourself, your interests, your hobbies xx

Great, that is so helpful!! So, it would just be a video of me talking about myself haha 🤣 Thanks so much xx

What is your advice for someone thinking of applying for camp who has social anxiety/autism? I'm considering it but due to anxiety/sensory issues, I am getting a single room in college and need privacy. Would you still recommend going?
