From what I've learned an interesting intro can help retain views for longer, and a bright thumbnail also helps. If you need help on editing, I use a free editing software called Davinci Resolve and there are many videos on tutorials on this software. I recommend checking out th-cam.com/users/Vidiq for more tips and help. Hope this helps :D
