Thanks so much for your kind words. Yeah, it's take some time to learn and regeneration all the riffs. I'm still practising and learning it now. It's one of the songs you have to keep playing over and over again, and each time, there's a slight improvement. Working shifts and not having many days off is frustrating. 2 years, and I'll be retired, and hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy playing even more. I've discovered the best way to improve my playing, apart from practise, is to record myself. Can be frustrating as it's very time-consuming but worth it for the extra improvements.
@@PhiliprreevesI truly believe that playing an instrument is an ever-learning art, and that’s the beauty of it. Being a student myself I know how frustrating it can be, even when you manage to find some time for yourself, you’re just too tired and thoughts take over. I’ve been trying to record myself, especially since I don’t have anybody to play with, and I couldn’t agree more with what you said. Guess that I’ll come and see you when you’ll be playing in knopfler’s tribute band, keep on going. Salute from Italy
I tried the legacy yesterday! Didn’t do anything for me unfortunately. I’d love to try one of these, but I have a great R8 les Paul and some nice Strats so have all my Mk tones covered I think 😀
Yeah you do and I love the R8s. Great guitars. I've been looking at getting one too lol. The Suhr was an impulsive buy just cause of that 1991 Every Street tour that introduced me to MK. I've always been fascinated by it. I fitted a set of EMGX on mine which give it a more open, less compressed sound that the standard SA amd 85 pickups. Really with the wolf gang and the Strat altra luxe I have, I really don't need it anymore, but I still love playing it. Can get some great sounds out of it.
@@Philiprreeves it’s a beaut of a guitar. Classic MK. Synonymous with him from 1990s. I think I’ll always want one of those, but I can’t justify 7k for one, having a custom shop Gibson, 2 silver skies, a martin omjm and the rest… Shockingly I have no vids of my R8, and a lack of new vids! Much more active on my instagram. Mines a 2018 model, looks similar to the MK les Paul and it sings. Those PAF replicas are something else too. Tone off, volume on full, distortion and it nails the MFN, calling Elvis tones. Roll the volume down and you get brothers in arms. I’ll try and record some stuff at some point and get it up here!
@guitarbygus my Mrs isn't going to like you at this rate, lol. You are right, I have no idea how Suhr or Pensa can justify their price tags, other than it being a niche market, so costs will be higher. The custom shop LPs are silly money, too, and the market is the opposite. Its flooded with them, but all hold their prices really well. I don't think u can lose your money on them at all. I paid £3450 the Suhr, and now they are £7k wtf has happened, lol.
@@Philiprreeves yeah it is crazy. Obvs materials and inflation however 7k is mental money. When I saw the carve top for 4.2k 4 years ago I do wonder how they justify another 3k. Once I’m back from my trip I’ll Get some footage up. The LP is honestly the sweetest guitar. Was very lucky buying it blind, but it smokes some of the Murphy labs I’ve tried too for double the price!
@guitarbygus yeah them murphy labs look good, but well overpriced. If you had told me, back in the 90s, people in the future would be paying a premium price for a new beaten up guitar, i would have said were crazy lol. It's madness. It's best to just go ur way and play the hell out of it, lol
Hi man! Very good guitar and work! By the way, could you repost the complete show 'A Night In London' from Laserdisc? It's rare and epic!
Amazing… I think none of us can even imagine how many hours it took to master this beauty. Thank you for sharing it with us
