Hey Rae, I just wanted to say that you should wipe your brush on a napkin before trying to blend because you need very VERY minimum liquid, both the paint thinner and baby oil work incredibly that way, I use them in my drawing a lot. Just a tip for you to see :)

Hey there fellow lefty! The odorless mineral spirits have really been fantastic for blending oil based pencils like polychromos or Holbein. It aids in keeping the hand cramping at a minimum.
I enjoy watching you do these studies and comparisons. It's been a while (like decades ago) but I have also used lighter fluid (yes, I said lighter fluid!) - like Ronsonol - to blend colored pencils. Prismacolor in particular, and also for blending graphite. That's a big be-careful, of course, lighter fluid. I did not know that alcohol would blend colored pencil - I'll have to try that.
This is a great hack I'm working pretty hard on learning to blend I'm in 10th grade and plan to be an artist hopefully this can help me with my blending
I used baby oil for oil painting, and I'm pretty speechless I couldnt tell if it was a good or bad idea lmao.. but my painting turned out really well tho
Not a great idea considering most baby oils don’t usually contain drying oils like linseed oil. They will sometimes have mineral oil or if they use vegetable oils they are often saturated oils I.e. oils with low iodine numbers. You want ones with high iodine numbers and unsaturated bonds usually so they dry. Which is oversimplified but basically true.
@@murph8411 I agree with what u said... It took months to really dry. I used them bcs there was no available linseed oil in nearby stores (fortunately it was just for my portfolio application so I rlly did not make use of it after) but I have them now ❣️ the application and control of the paint is much better Thank you

“As is is in most aspects of my life” 😂😂😂😂 alcohol 😂😂😂😂
I just realized she's a lefty! Yeah!!!
Hello fellow lefties!!!
I am a lefty too😝 OMG!!
Im not :3
I enjoy watching you do these studies and comparisons.
Just experimented with nail paint remover and guess what, it works amazing too🤟🏼
4:46 I love the way u said so far 😂idk it's satisfying
I been into art but u just blew my mind wit this
This is a great hack I'm working pretty hard on learning to blend I'm in 10th grade and plan to be an artist hopefully this can help me with my blending
Her: “This blew my mind” as a paper with blue came up. 😂 Was I the only one who noticed that?
Wow! I never thought of using those things to blend colored pencil! Makes me want to test blending a bunch of other supplies too :D
I used baby oil for oil painting, and I'm pretty speechless I couldnt tell if it was a good or bad idea lmao.. but my painting turned out really well tho
Its fine
Not a great idea considering most baby oils don’t usually contain drying oils like linseed oil. They will sometimes have mineral oil or if they use vegetable oils they are often saturated oils I.e. oils with low iodine numbers. You want ones with high iodine numbers and unsaturated bonds usually so they dry. Which is oversimplified but basically true.
@@murph8411 I agree with what u said... It took months to really dry. I used them bcs there was no available linseed oil in nearby stores (fortunately it was just for my portfolio application so I rlly did not make use of it after) but I have them now ❣️ the application and control of the paint is much better
Thank you
The best way to use the paint thinner is if you want to make your colored pencils last longer. It will spread the pigments better
The alcohol also dries faster
5:52 i laughed so hard i had to pause the video rAE YOURE KILLING ME
I've seen one where people dip the tip of the pencil in vaseline as well.

That is ridiculously satisfying.
(Thanks for this by the way, I've been looking for some good blending hacks like this!)
Who else just randomly found SuperRaeDizzle and started watching her daily
Lol "alcoho is clearly the winner, as it is in most aspects of my life"
ok ok so
Why have I always remembered this is ''Super Dae Razzle''?
Thank you so much for the video! Not only did it help me with my artwork and blending it also kind of showed me how to blend a bit better!
*Mind Blown*😵😲😯
Yes a left handed artist
my friend is a left handed artist. I feel like left handed people are more smart/artsy for the most part (seriously tho actually maybe it's just the people I have met. ironically this girl isn't the smartest but STILL xd)
OMIGOSH ALOT OF ARTISTS I WATCH ARE LEFT HANDED is that like a thing that means your a great artist????? Ahh
yes alcohol helps blending, copic markers are alcohol based which is why they blend so well
