I love how intelligent this young man is. I love how he actually discusses the real points talked about, instead of saying "Yes" to everything, like some people do, to show they understand rather than to really work on understanding. And his voice was so much more engaged when he started following dear Joyce's advice!
Joyce DiDonato does the best masterclasses. The result is instantaneous. I would love to attend one of her masterclasses. She has such an open way of sharing her knowledge. It is masterfull.

These vids should have less post production like the heavy added reverb, that way the listener can get an accurate representation of how the singer really sounds. Also 18:19 this is not verdi.
I actually liked his performance, considering he had already lerned this aria. His voice is great and in the Sarastro's video that she's mentioned, his execution at the end was amazing - one of the best that I've ever seen!
I totally agree with Didonato when she sad that he had chosen a heavy way to sing and he absolutely didn't need that to show how great his voice is. But as a bass myself, I can confirm that singing on "ee" is not comfortable as for other voices and I'd love to know why.
By the way, when he sings with more control his voice has the same "bass quality" but in "bel canto" style.
He have a better speaking voice than sang.
