Gees that T would have struggled up the hills. I went on the Gippslander one day around 1980. Was quick to Traralgon where they swapped the L class for a T class then it struggled on anything resembling a hill.
Another great video. I was on that trip and was actually enjoying it until the usual idiots among the "enthusiasts", started carrying on like fools, giving others a bad name, as many people think that all those interested in rail history and heritage trains, are all "tarred with the same brush". Thankfully they are not, but people can't be blamed for wondering at times.
Lovely EMD sounds. Great view powering towards you at 1:25.
Yes and only 5 minutes from my house!
LOVE those T's!!
Yes! I wasn't unhappy when steam loco Y112 was replaced with T356 up front.
Great Video

The hardest bit was trying to recouple the train at Somerton. There was some difficulty there.
No quite, the South Australian cars were not in Victoria in the 1970s. But close enough.
Ok thanks. I'm always happy to be corrected
Cool video
I will upload mine soon :)
Great. It will be good to see how it looks.
Impressive zoom! What video equipment are you using Brenden?
This one is a Sony AX50. Lots of my earlier work was videoed on Panasonic.

I had a similar not so good experience on the Hitachi farewell tour for all those reasons. As you say thankfully not everyone is like that.
I thought it was ‘whY not’ heritage tour
If that's the name I'll adjust the title.
