Im so sorry for your loss. Been there many times myself. I teared up at the news. I pray for your grieving to be short. Those fur babies are our families, and the loss is devastating. Their memories will always be with us. Hugs to all your other sweet babies.
First, please let me say how sorry I was to learn about Jackson. I know that he was a part of your family and I know how painful that is. I so enjoyed watching his and Chewy’s adventure right along with yours. Your sentiments were beautifully expressed. I could feel his absence from the beginning of this episode and will continue to do so. Having recently realized my dream of visiting the Dordogne region, I am fascinated by your experiences in and around Daglan. I look forward to each new episode and the amazing renovations and updates to your beautiful home.
Thank you. To know you’ve been watching along for sometime and noticed his absense is really beautiful and sad. Gosh he really was my perfect boy and I miss him every day. 💔 And how wonderful you got to visit the Dordogne, isn’t it a dream? I’m happy I can show you a little of what we’re doing here and appreciate you following along. x
Thank you Christine for your beautiful sentiments. We didn’t even know if he was going to be able to make the trip because of his age but then we got the green light, he was fit to fly! And the fact that he was here for our first year and his last year really was a blessing. x
I am so sorry at the loss of your doggy Jackie. You’ve lost a member of your family, my thoughts are with you at this sad time. On a happier note, the garden looks wonderful.
Thank you so much. How Jackie loved running around the property and all the new smells when we first arrived! He is in a special place in the garden now where I can visit him.
I’m so very sorry to hear about your beloved Jackson, when we started our adventure here in the Dordogne we had our lovely Millie a black cocker spaniel and we called ourselves the three musketeers, when we lost her nearly five years ago we were devastated, she left such a huge gap in our lives so I can understand how you feel. It took us three years to feel ready to share our lives with another and we are blessed with not one but two cockers ( sisters)and our lives are now complete 🥰 You’re doing a great job in the garden and your home too. It was so lovely to see the sun for a couple of days but alas I feel it’s gone on vacance again! 🤪 Thankfully it’s still very mild 😅
Hi Julie. Thank you so much for your heartfelt msg. It’s sad when we have to farewell our pets but I think life would be sadder not ever having had them. My boy Jack was hard to fault really, he was the perfect dog. I see you are an animal lover and totally understand how the loss of your fur-baby feels. Thank you for sharing your experience with me and I’m so glad you have two new beauties. Another week of rain ahead of us! Hopefully when the sun comes back it stays a little longer.
@@DarleneLavett Let’s hope so, I can’t remember spring here being so wet and cold, hopefully the summer months will be better when the family visits 🤞🌞 Is your studio open to the public? I’ve not been to Daglan for a long time but next time we visit I’ll make sure to pop in to say hello 😊
So so sorry for you and losing Jackson. So much love leaves a vast hole in your heart. He saw you in your new home and settled with Shaun so he could leave you in a good place. We still miss our 4 legged babies and are too old for new ones. Not fair on anyone. I love what you have done in your garden. Unbelievable what you both have done in 12 months. Action man meets superwoman 🤣🤣👏👏👏❤❤👌👌👌
Beautiful to see the progress in your garden, nice arrangements of flowers 💐 so sorry about your loss of Jackson. It’s a part of family after so long. Get strength in the lovely memories you had with him 🐕 ❤ Kim and Angelo
Losing a much loved pet is so hard. You gave Jackson a wonderful life, and honestly, he did not look his age. I see my pets as my children, and they mean everything to me. I can tell from the first video you posted, how much you love them. 💙
Daisy you made me tear up! I didn’t have children and so I do give my pets all my love. It’s hard, but memories of his smile and zest for life always remind me of the joy he gave me. x
My heart goes out to you both and his little four legged friend who will also feel the loss. Sadly we’re familiar with that grief, it’s deep and it aches. Sending you love from NZ❤️.
I agree totally Denise, the pain of the grief is almost like a physical blow but when I think of him now it makes me happy-cry. His body was little but his spirit was the size of a Great Dane. x
@@DarleneLavett What a powerful way to remember him. Yes they give so much more to our lives than their physical size. It took us two months to brave walking along our Abbey’s favourite beach walk after she passed. When we did my husband and I streamed tears the entire time. Slowly but surely we were able to walk there and remember her sheer joy of swimming, playing and socialising there, without us weeping. We live 50 metres from that beach, a true golden retriever, water dog paradise. She grew up there, it was like her extended back yard for 13 years. it was her happy place and it is ours again now too. She gave us a lifetime of wonderful and often humorous memories😍.
It was so lovely to see your gorgeous little village in a festival mood...it's so sweet! I'll be sharing our visit in my next vlog, so I can't to show you and all the lovely memories came flooding back watching this today! I'm so sorry about the loss of your darling fur baby...I didn't know. Sending hugs to you both, Marisa & David 🥰🤗😘💖
Thank you Marisa. I’m a little behind with my vlogs so I’ll will also be showing your visit in my next episode. And thank you, Jackie was the most darling soul. X
I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet and my heart goes out to you ❤ I was wondering where he was all through the video. So sorry, I’m glad you have Shaun and your other babies to help you through. XX
I wish they could live as long as we do, but that is not the case. Thankyou for loving your dog for so many years. He was adorable!!! You are right, never forgotten and I think they watch over us. Best to you.
I'm so sorry for your loss - it is so tough losing the one who loved us unconditionally when we took them in - blessings upon you and look for the rainbows
So so sorry about the loss of your beautiful fur babe, I felt very sad for you. X But you are both doing such great work, your garden is so impressive & pretty. Thinking of you. 🙏 🌸🌼

So sorry for your loss Darlene, at least you had that extra time with him as you weren’t sure he’d make the trip to France. Sending hugs from Australia 🥰 🤗
Thank you for your lovely sentiments. Our arrival to France was always hinging on Jack and his ‘physical’ to travel. And then the long trip for an old boy battling dementia was again challenging. We were so blessed to have him here and for him to experience this ‘new world’ even if for only a year.
It breaks our hearts when our furry friends go. Feeling for you.. RIP lovely Jack ❤.... Thankyou for another grest vlog . Your gardens are looking beautiful..finally we have some nice weather!! 😊
Darlene are sincere thoughts are with you at this time, we to had two Jack Russel’s that went everywhere with us and we know the feeling too well. Your are both doing a grand job on your home and the garden is looking great. Take care, be safe and keep the Aussie Spirit going in your French community 👍🙏😇🇫🇷🏰
Thank you so much, and yes we are indeed keeping the Aussie spirit alive here. Our French friends are very accepting of our crude French and sense of humour. And thank you for your condolences, Jack Russell’s do steal your heart don’t they. 😔
My condolences. I lost my 16-year-old miniature schnauzer in September right before my trip to Tuscany. As a widower, I very much miss him. I am in Tuscany now but when I get home to Palo Alto, I plan to get a new dog.
Thank you so much and condolences to you also. Have a wonderful time in Tuscany. Have you seen Marisa and David’s channel ‘Tales from Tuscany’? It’s a wonderful vlog.
Your garden has been beautifully transformed. So many projects completed & more to come Im sure. Your roses & all the plants you've put in are thriving. We're the same here in Qld...lots of rain this year. Your renovating & decorating is coming along so well. You & Shaun should be very proud & satisfied with your hard work. Sorry to hear of Jackies passing, pets become so special & he certainly was to you. 🧡🧡🧡
Thank you so much! It’s incredible to see the garden come to life finally. All the work from last year is paying off and all the rain we’re continuing to get is welcomed really. And thank you for your condolences 😔
Thanks sis that is so sweet of you to say. 🥹 As you know he was the sweetest boy. And the kilometres of walking Charlie and I did when Jackie would take us for a walk!! 😂 And then we would get to the bay and he would swim and go fishing, and then we would be leading him home. 😌 Great memories that I hope Charlie holds on to. X
So sad to hear about your sweet pup. They do steal our hearts, don't they? The new opening from the kitchen to the dining area makes such a difference to both rooms. Isn't it funny how taking something away adds so much?
Thank you Robin 😔 Its nice to have seperate rooms again after living in a very modern open-planned house but just increasing the doorways creates a much nicer flow.
