    TLDR people like living next to a river more than in the middle of the desert

    If I was in charge of Egypt, I'd put pressure on Ethiopia's dam, and I would forbid growing cotton because it is water-intensive and not nearly as important as wheat is to the Egyptian people.
    I would also try to turn population density into an advantage as it is in Singapore, Japan, and China, rather than a problem. I would develop public transportation and build social housing to alleviate the two problems of Egypt's population density: congestion and slums.

    Amazing video as always, but that’s a given 😂
    It’s very interesting to see how New York, Egypt, Jawa Island Indonesia, and Japan are all going through similar challenges of over population but aré rectifying that challenge in vastly different ways!

    Are there any plans to use desalinated water from the red sea at all? Based on the information you've provided us, it seems that Egypt will need A LOT more water in the near future.

    • @RisenAfrica
      @RisenAfrica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure @Jason.. The country aims to more than quadruple desalination capacity by granting private companies concessions from its sovereign wealth fund to build 17 plants distributed among six governorates that are Matrouh, South Sinai, Suez, Ismailiyah, North Sinai, and the Red Sea over the next five years. The total daily production of those will be about 750,000 cubic meters.

    I don’t understand why Egypt doesn’t populate its coastline! They have many solutions to their problem. They just don’t want to do them

    • @RisenAfrica
      @RisenAfrica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes populating the Mediterranean coastline would be a great start

    • @georgewael3278
      @georgewael3278 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well the reason is the coastline of Egypt is pretty long so it is not cheap to build and water purification is expensive when you have a river but the country is building some new cities on the coastline like new al alamen and al glala

      Today's Egyptians are of mixed ethnic heritage. Nubians, Greeks, Romans, Hejaz Arabs and Turks once ruled Egypt. Cairo was founded by the Fatimid dynasty while Alexandria was founded by the Hellenistic Ptolemy dynasty. Today Egypt is Arab.

    I would have done it in this format before , but was not able to in my first try.
    I hope you understand why I did that , the reason is that I take pride in my Home languages that even though I don’t know them, I still keep using the present technology to have a connect over them.
    Many beautiful cultures, languages, and cultures have also disappeared because of colonialism. I don't want that again. So I took this initiative. So, using the current technology, I will first write in one of my homeland languages and will use english at the bottom.
