FYI- that Buddhist temple, Han-Ma-Eum, is a Korean Buddhist temple. The sign in the temple written in Korean, 대웅전 (DAE-Ung-Jeon) means the main hall. Anyway, thank you for posting so helpful travel tips all the time!

I’ve used to switch from the bus to subway at Main St. Flushing. The price of the take out food you can’t beat it. The New World Mall is amazing also. Flushing, Long Island City and Jamaica, Queens are like a city within a city.

Flushing was my home for basically all my life. I was raised in Pomonok which is basically South Flushing by Queens College, but Main Street Jewish side and Asian side, Kissena Corridor, Northern Blvd., Kissena Blvd, Union street, and Parsons Blvd were all my stomping grounds. I also went to Bayside High school and since Pomonok is also considered on the outskirts of Fresh Meadows, Bell Blvd, 188th St, Utopia Turnpike, and Union Turnpike were also my stomping grounds.

There are several Chinatowns in NYC. The most famous one is obviously Lower Manhattan and this Flushing Chinatown that is being hosted in this video. In Brooklyn, taking the N train to 8th Avenue in Sunset Park is also another very large Chinatown as well, which you really should try out. All these 3 are the large Chinatowns of NYC, but there are also smaller emerging Chinatowns in other Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods.
    ---
In Brooklyn, Bensonhurst has several small Chinatowns emerging on 18th Avenue between 63rd-78th Streets(18th ave. N train stop), Bay Parkway between 65th-70th Streets(Bay Parkway N train stop) and 86th Street between 18th-25th Avenues(D train stops on 18th ave, 20th ave, Bay Parkway, or 25th Ave.). Sheepshead Bay, another Brooklyn neighborhood also has another small emerging Chinatown right at the Avenue U Q train station.
    --
Elmhurst, another Queens neighborhood at Elmhurst Avenue R train station, also has a small emerging Chinatown.
    ____
At this time, all these smaller Chinatowns of NYC are intermixed with other ethnic populations that are still there, so you can try out Chinese culture and other cultures such as Italian, Russian, Mexican, Central American, South American, Middle Eastern, East European, and etc. cultures. You also should check out these neighborhoods as well and do videos of them.

Flushing high school is a very cool place to look at, the architecture is like a mini college campus. Very different from most schools here.
If you go down northern blvd you can get a lot of Korean stuff like shops, restaurants, beauty places, etc. Not sure if anything historic is down that way but good for people that want to experience trends from that culture.
Flushing is very diverse. There's a mini pocket of south Asian communities and a bunch of Indian stores and halal groceries. There's a lot of Hispanic stuff sprinkled in everywhere. Some bits of Jewish stuff is here too though more of that is down Main Street near utopia. And flushing is slowly churning up high rises and bringing with it some modern architecture and interior design into otherwise old areas. Also love how a lot of Asian food trends hit here hard and new places pop up often.
The only downside is that only the 7 comes here. Buses and LIRR aside, train wise only the 7 stops here and it's not the best/most reliable line.

Love the intro! Good job. I grew up on Roosevelt and College Point Blvd. You brought back a flood of great memories. That house you were talking about is the Bowne House. Bowne rhymes with Town. To people in Flushing, mispronouncing Bowne is like mispronouncing Buda. We have a Bowne House, Bowne Street, Bowne Apartment, Bowne HS. So, you know. LOL It was so funny when you called it Astoria. They were our Hip Hop, Car Racing and Little League Football rivals. But keep up the good work. And learn how to pronounce shit that is important to others. LOL KF

Bowne is pronounced Bow-n as in the ‘bow’ of a ship or taking a bow. The Flushing Friends Meeting (aka Quakers) is a still a functioning house of worship. The Kingsland House was moved from its original location at 157 St and Northern Blvd in order to preserve it. You missed the marker opposite the Bowne House that marks the spot where George Fox, the founder of the Religious Society of Friends (aka ‘Quakers’) preached in 1672. If you are concentrating on architecture the Bowne Street Community Church just down the block form the Bwone House has stained glass windows from the Tiffany Studio. Queens is the most diverse county in the United States.

@@ryanflores2489 It is what you make it right Ryan. I lived in Hawaii and knew people there who hated it. Flushing is awesome, and if someone does not like it, one of the best things about Flushing is you can jump on a highway, or the 7 and be anywhere in moments. When I was a young adult and would get sick of Flushing I would take the Bus to Jones Beach, or Belmont Raceway. Go Flushing HS Red Devils. Did they close the HS yet? I heard that was on the list.

Gentlemen, You missed too much in Flushing. I suggest you meet up with a local and allow that person to discuss possibilities for you to visit. I've lived here for close to 12 years and it is layers upon layers to see.

@@TheTravelingClatt If you climb out of the subway for the first or maybe second time, yes. otherwise no. If you are interested, we can give you a much better look, then you decide.

Idk, it's my hometown and I think he did a pretty good job. Maybe you have to be Chinese to know everything? What else would you go on visit besides restaurants?

I'd say northern side is mostly korean, but most of Flushing is Chinese

Why are people JUST discovering Flushing like it’s a new world? I welcome you all to my home but PLEASE don’t do what y’all been doing to the rest of the boroughs.

This is a disaestrous. The guy went to Korean Buddhist temple with Korean letters on the structure and the Indian host says " Chinese Oriented" What a horrible disrespect moment he made for Korean Buddhist watchers.
