Incredible cover! I started working on this song, gave up and decided to focus on discovering a cure for cancer, which seemed a much easier task. I will watch your video, with great pleasure, numerous times I’m sure. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I know what you mean. I've been trying to play this for a year now, without much progress. Sometimes, I think I'd be better off just putting the kettle on...
Try the CGDGBE tuning method. The original drop D way is really fecking hard, but the CGDGBE tuning makes the fretting hand work so much easier. You can then focus on the picking hand. I learnt it by first focusing on the thumb rhythm, just do it until you're going mad from the repetition - you want the thumbwork to become automatic. Thinking about it makes it harder. Just start slow and resist the urge to rush.
Great job on this George -love the cover ! Just wondered if you notice the credits mention someone called Lindsay Buckinging , rather than Lindsey Buckingham ? :)
I tune my tayor in standard and have to caoe in the 2nd fret to play with this song and he has a Paige capo in fret 1 so he's tuned down 1 full step. so it is standard 1 full step down. :-)
I've never seen it played like this before. Playing in standard tuning? Holy smokes no - just no - wow I'm blown away. I will never play it like this. Well done.
I wish every single person knew just how difficult it was to play this song nevermind singing as beautifully as George in this cover. Like...this is a seriously difficult song to learn. Best cover of this song out there, no doubt about it.
The tricky part is hitting the low E while sliding up two frets. Also the "been down one time", switching between C barred and G chord is very painful for your fingers if you play it the C shaped with small 3fret bar with index finger. I find the original key harder because I have small hands and the 4 fret stretch is killing my pinky every time. And the end chords before repeat are a pita for me. It's easier to hit the bottom 4 strings with the "easy G" chord like he did on video.
I've worked on this song on and off for at least 10 years. I always pick up an extra note, but I never stick it out long enough to just nail it. Just keep at it man, or you'll waste time re-learning the easy parts 20 times, like I have lol
@@briantrowbridge8134 I'm going on 4 years of practicing this - I can play it perfectly, about once in every 5 or 6 tries. The hardest part for me is the quick jump from the high frets back down to the lower frets to end the song. Keep practicing!
