Previously, the Arya Samaj was primarily controlled by intermediary castes like Jats, Ahirs, Banias, Kayasths, etc., with the Vedas being the central focus. These groups often argued from the verses of the Vedas. However, once this movement came under the influence of Brahmins, the Ramayana and Mahabharata began to be regarded as historical texts that reflected the social values of their times. Gradually, the Manusmriti was introduced as a sacred text, with the intention of portraying the Brahmin ancestors as just and fair, thereby reinforcing the Brahminical system. Their interpretation of "dharma" became so abstract and hypothetical that it was difficult to comprehend. For the common man, however, dharma simply meant adhering to cultural rituals, traditions, and customs, which have long guided Hindu society. Brahmins, however, complicated these practices by monopolizing religious rites, knowledge, and devotional paths, tailoring them to their own advantage. This has been their trajectory for some time. They need to understand that Indian social values have evolved in accordance with the modern Indian Constitution. No one wants to return to the era of Manusmriti. If someone has improved their social status through modern education, why would they choose to revert? Today, every citizen has the right to elect their representatives, and the concept of a hereditary king no longer exists. In the Vedic period, kings ruled based on the advice of Brahmins and the Manusmriti. If something in their system appears to contradict present-day values, they claim it has been "adulterated." But is it really that simple? If such adulteration occurred, who benefitted? Mostly, the Brahmin caste profitted from this. It was not the work of Macaulay or Max Müller. The goal has always been to prove their ancestors' policies as true and just. Brahmins should gradually distance themselves from this Vedic philosophy and adapt to modern times, though many are already doing so. If they change, it will be welcomed; otherwise, time will inevitably transform society. Brahmins should refrain from adding and subtracting from the "Vedic math and physics" that they use to maintain control. The wheel of modernization will not stop, though Brahmins have also played a role in pushing it forward.
