  • The Gel Kayano range has long been a go-to for runners that want stability and comfort, but the release of Gel Kayano 29 sees some big updates to the line.
    That includes an updated FF Blast+ midsole cushioning design that’s lightweight but adds more energized rebound, and LITETRUSS stability in the midsole to help stop your foot from rolling too far inwards.
    Mike and Tom have taken the shoe out for a first run to see if it's worth adding to your rotation.

    I haven't really ran much since I discharged from the Army about 8 years ago due to how aggravating shin splints were and a painful bone spur in my knee. Im looking at getting back with it and hope these will be a suitable pair of shoes to minimize the discomfort of getting back into the swing of running again.

      Thanks for your service. I am not the guy who made this video so I don’t know as much about running shoes. I would recommend these to you I also have shin splints and these are great because they are a stability shoe. I would try a few pairs of running shoes on at first at a Dicks sporting goods or a running shoe store if there is one in your area. If not these are a great option and I think these would work well for you.

    I have a regular arch, and don.t prone, but i love these Shoes as well as the nimbus 24 and 25s, they are very different feeling since i feel great stability yet bounce and comfort at the same time, less bounce than the nimbus 25s, but more stability and egual comfort.

      Can you tell me if the fit has changed between Kayano 28 and 29? By chance, with the same shoe size, has it become narrower or wider? In the past Asics has played jokes on me with new models. Excuse my English.

    Thanks for the awesome video content. I prefer traditional stability running shoes due to over pronation (Medial post etc..) Kayano 29 was my favorite shoe for this but the Kayanos have changed a lot.
    In the current market which is the closest shoe to the Kayano 29? (NB 860 V12, Gt 2000 12 perhaps?)

    hello i have a question i brought some cumulus 24s they were really comfortable however i felt like my foot was falling / rolling to the outside. supernation/ over supination. i feel like this is because the shoe midsole is really soft and as i walk even worse on carpet my ankle just feels like its rolling outwards and im having to try hard to stop it. i have really weak ankles and poor balance anyway. i have a pair of nike huaraches which dont do this but are uncomfortable i wanted to buy some acics but not sure which to go for ? have you herd of this before and can you give me any advice on it? thanks

    • @davidferguson4209
      @davidferguson4209 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im a collegiate runner and I pronate a lot. The Glycerin 20 GTS is a great option but I needed more support. I think the softness still lets some pronation seep through over time so I got the Saucony Guide 15 as an alternative. Probably going to pick the K29 up though as my recovery shoe.

      @@mattw785 Yup. We find that a fair amount of people still prefer that traditional medial posting over the more guidance type of support that the industry is trending toward. The Kayano does well despite its $160 price but usually with people looking for a good walking shoe. When we get a runner who buys an Asics stability, it's usually the GT-2000.

    • @ptlewis2000
      @ptlewis2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ielle. Yeah, they screwed up the Kayano the way Brooks did Adrenaline. Old people like me relied on the "truss"ted medial support of the old Kayano, and used the DS Trainer for guidance stuff. If I have to evolve, I'll evolve with the Tempus and finally get those custom orthotics after decades of holding off.
