I just got the Cloudboom strike today, tried it on…wasn’t impressed. Can’t wait to run it in though. It does seem incredibly light as is. I think in 5 years this will be “on the heavy side”. For the running I do, and enjoy anything under 8.5 is pretty decent. The Hoka Cielo X1 for example are considered heavy for its category, but they are my fav this year.
Still sort of experimental, so maybe later OnCloud could cut in and glue a tiny zip-lock somewhere practical just to get putting in your feet easier. Spray on tech looking promising for now.. would be great to see a 100km+ durability test.
@@elflakeador09ultraboosts and flyknit don’t stretch over time… yes the materials are on shit shoes but they show a soft no-lace material doesn’t mean stretching over time
I will wear pretty much anything when it comes to running, as I don’t believe much in aesthetics as long as the shoe is good. But even still, you wouldn’t catch me dead in these 😂
Great review Nick, always respect your reviews. Seems like nobody is reviewing the now available Cloudboom Strike and everyone talking about this LS version. Odd? Kind of bummed since I have a pair on the On the way via mail direct from On. I did try them on at the On store @ Venice Beach, California. Felt like Lightstrike Pro. The plate was not that stiff but I'll see when I engage it with a run at 200 lbs. Also, I am normally a US12 with a normal width and it felt a little bit and long - no 11.5 in stock for comparison. A different sock thickness will probably make a big difference. You may want to consider a 1/2 size down.
Nick, I really like your content, it's great. I would like to ask you, honestly, what do you think of this shoe because I'm thinking about it for when it's available again. In terms of reactivity and running economy, do you think it's top-notch, even if it's deeply different in structure from the main competitors such as vaporfly, metaspeed, alphafly, adidas evo endprlhin elite, etc? Which do you think it's similar to or is it a really different running experience? I'm interested in knowing the real benefit this shoe can bring to the athlete in terms of time and running economy. Thanks again
For me my left foot is almost a quarter size smaller than my right. Not having laces might make the lockdown significantly different. Any of the testers feel that?
Fuck yes Thanks for the review What are your thoughts on longjevity These shoes look incredible Waiting for cloudboom echo 4 I think CBE 4 and this shoes are the perfect track and threshold training shoe rotation I hope On makes their version of a streakfly two with the firmness of cloudboom echo 3 👌🏼
For $330, I'd rather pay $400 and have something completely bespoke for my foot. Spray-together upper with a standard average-person last is dumb when you see how much other tooling they've had to invest in to develop the process.
Why are the most eco shoes the most expensive? All recycled material? Thats gonna cost ya. Spray on upper? Definitely gonna cost ya. Shouldn’t it be the other way around??
Agreed. There is less manual labor, it’s overall using less material and the construction creates much less waste than traditional textile manufacturing. I get that it’s new, but the price is ridiculous
FUCK YEAH. The firsrt cloudboom LS review on youtube is from my favourite shoetubers!
bad word
The only time I’m more interested in the upper of a shoe
Love the runner stats. Makes the review much more useful! 👌. Your easy pace is my 5k PB pace😂
Yea but why it says he is a heel striker? He’s not a heel striker
@@chemicalfrankie1030he describes himself as a heel striker. Not sure how u can tell his technique from the videos lol
@@sparkky5843 theres literal footage of the guy running at 4:25 LOL
@@chemicalfrankie1030yeah I was going to comment the same thing. Definitely a mid-foot strike

Great first verdict Nick 👌 I was also a fan of the boom echo 3 so this sounds promising 🎉
I love that 16:15 is only a "pretty good" time for your 5K!
This is a wild looking shoe! Really hope the other brands follow with their own versions 🙏🙏
Looks so cool! Would love a non-plated version of this
I foresee the ankle collar having to be progressively trimmed lower as it spreads and frays. Maybe that's the reason it's there in the first place.
So glad they seem to have nailed an elite shoe
Just for comparison purposes. My new ASICS meta-speed Paris Edge, the new yellow/ red ones, weighed 183 grams size US 9.5
It is too expensive, and the upper will stretch over time without laces. Thanks for your review.
That’s why they invented Gaffer tape!
Amazing mate. Any chance of a review for the non LS version?
Looks like a great step forward in shoe innovation, I can see a slight problem with the upper. There is nowhere to attach a stryd footpod 😮🤔
So this was Helen Obiri’s shoe. We can finally see it.
Shoes without laces are always a concern on long-term usage. Curious how does that changes over time esp for the price.
this stuff is all hype haha will die off as will ON as a company once people come back to reality with their premium priced shoes
Long term…hmmm.
With soles that thin, they are designed for one long race.
What long term? Supershoes aren't meant for many marathons. 🤔🤔🤔
Didn't these make your computer blue screen a couple of days ago?

Very appealing shoe except the price tag. Great review. Thanks.
… looking at he the footage he doesn’t seem to be a heel striker - am I wrong?
I've always felt that trainers without laces are a gimmick
It’s a gimmick unless the upper weighs 30g and actually works
@@mrsillybear but sure like all these things they will loosen out over time

Wow awesome!
How was the breathability?
Nice! How’s the lockdown?

How tight is the shoe on your foot. I'm a fan of tight shoes. So how tight would these shoes be compared to overtightening your shoes that have laces
Nice review! Those paces, tho! 😅
Which earphones are you wearing?
The price...
This looks like an ankle roll waiting to happen but I guess these are marketed for experienced/elite runners
@TheRunTesters what brand and model are the headsets you have in time stamp 6:05. Thank you
Hoping you can review 361 degree lightest marathon shoes. They published it lighter than adidas pro Evo.
What socks you wearing (white and teal)?! 🔥🔥

When can we buy this shoes ?
Interesting shoes ,The more they move away from their cloud technology. They more get better 🙂
How did you manage to grt these???? 😮
When do they come out
What a shoe
3:30 min/km as "Marathon pace" is disgusting! 😁
this or Sky Paris?
Sky Paris full stop and cheaper too
Yea I think I’m good on this one
Is this shoe suitable for wide feet?
OAP slip-on vibes 😂
Bro just reps 3:30 5kms casually
and thats his marathon pace😭💀
330$ for what looks just like a thin layer of ethafoam (used for packaging)

These shoes maybe comfortable but they are getting weirder and weirder lol
So….the shoe is basically, an ON sole with an expensive polystyrene liner 🤪

i bet it will destroy in full marathon
Until on offers free 3d foot scanning and spray the upper according to your foot shape, no one should buy these
I bet that thing falls apart and is loose within 3-6 months.
On's pricing is destroying their reputation
How so ?
You can afford you get it, you cannot - you dont. There are good shoes from 80 to 400€.
A 300€ tshirt does not destroy Prada’s reputation.
edges already look dirty.
overhype brand, there are many shoes better than that
Anyone knows the release date?
