    Solidly the best tutorial on the web for the BMC on Tacoma. Well done! I just wonder WTF Toyota was thinking in making the Tacoma so big and making it so the tire size can’t be expanded without a chassis chop. It’s as if they intentionally abandoned their most dedicated customers. I also wonder if the body mount could be reshaped with an air hammer - haven’t tried, but wonder if it’s a possible alternate solution.

    • @TotalChaosFabrication
      @TotalChaosFabrication  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the support! We definitely wouldn't want to take the risk using an air hammer. Too much potential damage for a result that could be safely achieved with a few smaller cuts and welding the plate on.

    I have a question for you. Wouldn't it be a lot cleaner and better if you just remove the inner fender well to cut the seam and then reinstall the inner fender well back? That way it looks like nothing was cut?

      Personally I wouldn't use stick, but if its the only option; 3/32" ER7018 around 70 amps, move quickly and stitch it. The "stitching" shown in the video isn't actual stitching. Make 1-1.5" stitches jumping around from side to side similarly to how you tighten lug nuts or tune a drum. Source: am a certified welder

    • @BainBoyd

      Trimming anything on your vehicle with less than a 32 inch tire is not at all reasonable on these trucks/SUVs. Think of a small lift, maybe just a 25 dollar spacer "leveling lift", maybe just 1.5-2.5 inches. I'm running a 3 inch leveling kit in front on a 2007 4runner and love it, with bigger tires, too
