It would be nice to measure audio quality. Although they use a fairly high quality DAC which can drive upto medium impedance headphones (ESS 9118), shielding is lacking, and a sweating graphics card lowers signal quality. This is unfortunate when seeing the huge metal backplate, a more balanced approach would be in order. I like the power delivery and overall quality of this board very much, but do not have the illusion that I can avoid an additional audio interface.
I want to add that with Rev 1.1 of the board you can add a Thunderbolt card, the Gigabyte Titan Ridge, which lets you connect low-latency and high-quality external audio interfaces (Audient, Presonus, Focusrite, Steinberg). Even if you need only a low number of inputs/outputs, maybe 1/1, the Thunderbolt variants shine in quality.

Same here, also in NZ. Unlike you, I don't have the other components yet but heard new Gigabyte x570 stock is due around the 6th July.
Great videos on this board and the MSI MEG X570 ACE which of them would you recommend ?
the Master, i have it on the 5950x, better board up and down imo
im gonna buy x570 aorus master but my question is this since im gonna pair it with 5800x and a 3080 will there be enough pcie lanes left to also use 3 m.2 gen 4 ssd's ? or my card will drop from x16 to x8?
I want this answer too. I looked at this and B550 Unify for the M2 and USB options but the Unify disables ALL pcie if you use a GPU and M2 together.
What is the best ? X570 Aorus Master or Msi meg X570 Ace??
Is it a must to plug in both 8pin CPU power cables from PSU?
Great informative review.
Why do none of you guys compare this board to the EXTREME or the CH VIII HERO???? Black Friday is coming and people want to know the actual performance differences!!!!
I'm here browsing for black friday too. I was hoping he would talk more about the performance of the onboard sound
great job, inspiring for a first builder. thank you !!!! Question at 9;54 in presentation. you display a V - shaped object. possibly 2" by 2", 9 51mm by 51 mm ) is this pre installed on the board??? ( please say yes !!) .........you are very understandable. which is a great quality...bless you.
Lol. Yes, that is the heatpipe on the board underneath the covers, which cool the vrm's.
Hello, can I have a question? On the updated x570s aorus master version, If im using all 4 m.2 nvme slots, im still losing only 2 sata slots? I can't find the answer anywhere..
I promise that the Extreme's double the price is NOT because of the heat pipe. So WHY would they NOT use the passive cooling heat pipe on this board as well...? That's a huge misstep on Gigabytes part.
This is a very nice looking motherboard. How does it compare to the Asus Crosshair Hero VIII? Great video work keep it up.
we're going to have a load more X570 reviews coming shortly - can't say for sure about the Crosshair but we've got a lot of reviews coming soon!
gigabyte makes the best X570 boards don't buy anything else.
I second that I am torn between the two boards both look like awesome boards, Great review Luke 👍
@Brian cheers Brian I will check it out , I have watched some of his breakdowns, on gamers nexus , he knows his stuff 👍👍
@@KitGuruTech Many, many, many of us are wondering this exact question. We want to see a direct head to head comparison of these two mobos. Thanks.
i have a ryzen 5 5600x and i’m looking for a motherboard, would this be a good selection
i have a gigabyte 570x ultra , BUT ! the small fan on the motherboard is making a high pitch sweez sound, can i take of the metal place thing that is around the fan? or what can i do about the noise?
i blown it out with duster cleaner but that din't help :( and there are ZERO video;s about it online, cant see 1 video of the 570x gigabyte ultra fan,, can i just pop it off and oil the fan a bit ? or send it back to the shop ? what can i do about it... ?
Should I plug in both 8 pin cpu power connectors? PC partpickers says my PSU is not compatible, semi modular corsair psu. if I need to plug in both connectors, I do have a extra 8 pin cpu power cable, that should not be a problem plugging that into the PSU to use if neccessary ?I have a corsair tx750M, PCpartpicker shows it as not compatible, wondering why and if it will work. Thanks for any help.
Just to make sure, if you only have one graphic card in the PCIe slots then you can use all three M.2 slots and all six SATA slots together without sharing bandwidth?
yes
I bought this mobo today and I also installed m.2 ssd from Samsung 980 Pro. I found that when I screw the m.2 ssd to the mobo, the thermal heatsink plate of the mobo doesn't touch the m.2 samsung ssd chips. I hope Gigabyte going to fix this system the feature.
Which port and cable used to connecting to monitor for that mobo? Pls respond I'm new to custom build pc
My 2nd m.2 slot not detecting. I changed a setting and it worked in bios. But now it’s not ? Any idea ? Both are Samsung evo plus.
MSI MEG X570 ACE, S-AM4 or Gigabyte Aorus Master AM4?
Aorus Master hands down and i am a huge MSI fan and have usually used them or Asus, IMO this is the best 570 Board outside of the 2 double the price monsters, is not even a contest at this price point.
@@negativezero3107 Its in my office now the gigabyte , now i just whait for ryzen 5950x ( omg) Its not easy to Get stuff in 2021. Lets hope 8 april is a true delivery date 😂
as for the fan you can mod that for far cheaper than paying the 699$ for the higher board, easy to DIY
I am stuck between this board and the Asus CH VIII Hero. Haven't completely decided which to buy for my 3900X, but after reading some of the problems with the bios of this board, I'm leaning hard towards the Hero. I've been using the Crosshair Hero or Extreme since the first gen Ryzen chips, and NEVER had any problems outside the normal first gen stuff. Probably going to stick with the Asus. I NEVER buy MSI nor Asrock. I only buy Gigabyte or Asus.
Literally my only complaint is more with the case I bought than with this board... Although the board could have had both 3 and 4 pins for rgb fans. My Phanteks p500a only came with 3 pin for it's fans. : p
So, how do I bypass having to use the Power Button at 2:39 ??
I come from an 8700K paired with a Z390 Aorus Master. Currently rocking a X570 Aorus Master with a 5900X. No 3090 yet....
I think I'll choose Aorus Master boards from now on...
did the 5900x work with the Master out of the box? did you have to update bios? which version are you using to be stable? thanks!
@@chesian I don't know if it would've worked out of the box because I never tried, I just updated right away before installing the CPU. I'm currently on BIOS F33a
@@natevirtual gotcha do you remember which version when you flashed the first time?
This or the x570 msi ace ?
Need more NVMe to run off the CPU, go with the master. That's the only difference. Of course Ace comes with more USB 3.
There's a lot of complaints about this board in the Amazon reviews
I have this motherboard for like about 4 months and it stopped working last Sunday and I was not happy about it and I’m goin to replace it and hope I get a new one or as I’m saying one that actually works since I have warranty still and I think my motherboard came defective that it literally stopped working after 4 months /:
Will a 3 slot GPU block the second Pcie slot that I plan to use for an extension card?
nope

does all lanes run gen 4?
WIll there be a higher tier than that for AM4?
Can anybody tell me I’m buying this in 2020 and I wanna know if I need to do an bios update ?
yes
Giga are using bottom of the barrel USB hubs on these, gotta cut your corners somewhere along with the 50amp chokes I guess (everyone's using 60+ on the high end)
can i intsall 3 ssd m.2 970 samsung for gaming purposes ?? will it affect anything
Theres been 2 revisions to this board now no vidieos anywhere about whats changed just got rev 1.1 from rma from cmos/ power issues on rev1.0
difference is the only one they have added extra slot to connect Thunderbolt card which you should buy additionally if you need it ...
..and what's about rev1.2 ?
apparently this board has a lot of cold boot issues, every so often board is dead until cmos reset..quite a lot of forum posts on it
Where is the HDMI? How you connect the monitor?
You plug in display through the Graphics Card

aorus master or the cheaper aorus pro?
Just right between the cpu and closer to the m2 port the MB has a orange light diode. What is this light and also it’s very strong. This is not a rgb it’s a small dot lift very strong
Shows which Bios is in use, so there are actually 2 lights there.

@@techquad1151 I'd hate to suggest something and it damages your board. Reminds me of the old days when you had clear light bulbs, you could paint them to change the colour. Police Stations were blue and then there was the so called red light districts, haha.
A small piece of insulation tape perhaps?
Be careful.
a nice review but it seems that a few reviewers r gettin boards with a thunderbolt header but my board rev 1.0 has no thunderbolt header..on the gigabyte website also there is no mention of any thunderbolt header for this board for rev 1.0...n no other revision is available also so can u check the review boards rev version..i guess gigabyte first decided to give the header n send the reviewers the board with the header .but later decided that it will increase the price of the board so let shave off the pins from the board..whats yur take on that ?????
My board has the addon, and it is stenciled on the board. Mine is REV. 1.1 . It isn't mentioned in the manual. I read somewhere else that ir will work once the Ryzen 4000 desktop processors ship.
i got this board with amd using corsair ram my temps gone from 35 cells range to 49 cells and this board don't have great rgb i got it inside lian li space grey
Is it WiFi 6?
yes
does the ChipSet has a fan under that GrilledCover?
it does, almost every x570 board has one
Only passive one I found was Aorus Extreme which cost twice as much almost :)

Really frustrated with this board. Probably some Gigabyte and then AMD crappy BIOS, but I tried 2 Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVME drive and AMDRaid is awful, after a day or 2 critical array. Thought is was a bad drive and replaced it, same thing. Swapped around slots same thing. Thought maybe a Samsung comparability issue so this week I tried 2 Crucial P5 NVME and boom, 1 day it worked next day critical array again. Gigabyte support is trying but clueless. This is fresh Windows install, all the latest AMD drives and what was current (F20) BIOS. Never had this much grief with any MB or CPU combo. Having serious regrets leaving the Intel camp thinking AMD and Gigabyte have their act together. All this money to be hampered without having NVME and using SATA based SSD.
Can't blame gigabyte for AMD issues, really... Stay with Intel camp, go and buy a 10 core for the price of AMD 16 core and replace your motherboard every year -)
@@itftcomputers sorry all my Intel build are still running no replaces anything. I went town AMD because of the price advantage, but AMD still has some maturing to do. I did finally get everything stabilize, using the F21 BIOS and the latest AMD RAID drivers from Gigabyte seems to be stable now. BIOS screens are still jerky and mouse does not work with CSM disabled, but seems stable finally.
I will commend Gigabyte for not over volting the CPU like some of the other brands.
im using both samsung 970 pro and 970 evo with this motherboard for almost year now without any issues at all.
