    I love how you mentioned the two blades that Amaram has-Oathbringer and Helaran's. As you said, the two that have had the biggest impact on his life (besides perhaps Syl). Helaran's, the one that caused his slavery, and Oathbringer, the one that bought him his freedom. Beautiful symbolism.

      I’ve read the books multiple times and the symbolism being pointed out like that still surprised me

      It's moments like that that make me appreciate just how good of an author Sanderson is. There's *depth* to his books.

      I think it was revealed in rythm of war

      Teased in Words of Radiance, hinted at in OB, revealed in RoW during Dog and the Dragon

      @TheCosmerenaut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally forgot it was revealed in book that she was a dragon and not just through WoB. Oopsie.

    I think it's pretty likely that stormlight only heals you towards your spiritual or maybe cognitive state. So it can heal a lost arm, but not something that intrinsically makes you YOU and something you intrinsically link with yourself. Like the brand on Kaladin's head not healing until he got over that trauma and no longer saw himself as a slave and then it was healed. I think similarly, it would not "heal" something like autism, or more appropriately would not heal Dabbid's condition because neither of them feel that it's wrong to be like that. Dabbid THINKS that he doesn't want to think slowly, and assumes that the spren were telling him they'd heal his condition, but the tower didn't say that in those words which implies that the greater truth is that Dabbid already accepts himself as he is (proven by his own thoughts about what is and is not stupid) and that he already views himself as healed.
    Depression is a special case I think which throws a bit of a wrench in things. Because I and most people with depression would love to have that go away, but I think in Kaladin's case, his mental issues are so closely tied to who he is that they will not heal in a similar way. Mostly because he finds ways to deal with it and continue to live.
    I do think, however, that IF a person were to have a condition where they absolutely resented it and wanted more than anything to be rid of it that the storm light could heal that. I think in another character, depression COULD be healed by stormlight. Potentially anyway. I think it really comes down to a character truly needing it to be gone that would make the difference. Kaladin is ultimately strong enough not to need to, but others might not be.

      yup. Pretty sure thats the reason why trans radiants "heal" (for lack of a better term) into the biological sex that they identify as (see the Reshi King)

    I read all of part 5 of Oathbringer in 1 day. To think that it is equivalent to almost 400 pages in a book like Dawnshard is crazy. Love this book

    Hey great video like the other previous parts, but there are two things I noticed about this part that felt off to me.
    6:24 Teft swears the third ideal! Not the second! "I will protect those I hate..."
    12:04 You forgot to mention that Ash is Jezrien's daugher.

    • @TheCosmerenaut
      @TheCosmerenaut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get the numbers confused all the time, because the first ideal is the same for everybody which then makes me think the individual second ideals are actually the first ideals for the orders. It's... a problem.

    • @TheCosmerenaut
      @TheCosmerenaut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I always get the numbers confused, because the first one is the same for everyone which then makes my brain consider the second ideal of whatever order as actually the first and then it just spirals.
      You're correct.
