I DID read that article about Reagan, and heard Thom Hartmann. And I recall, in the 9th grade, watching Reagan’s swearing in while simultaneously seeing the Iranian hostages get off a plane on a split screen. I thought, as a teenager: Something is not right. This man JUST got sworn in. He’s been the president for 10 seconds. How could he be responsible for the release of these hostages. I remember this vividly.

Never forgot that moment. I was riding my bus home from school and my bus driver, of all people, made a very loud comment about how Reagan cheated to get those hostages freed. Of course, this was largely ignored and laughed at at the time, but some knew it to be true. Terrible.

Yes, he did...Rosalyn. Lived through the Carter years, on active duty in Honolulu, HI. As a senior officer's wife among many we visited the men and women of squadrons and units and their young families. In tents on the beaches. It's hot in the Islands in the summer...unbearably hot. Under Carter, no new housing civilian or military was being built, there was literally no housing available. We did as much as we could, but it was not nearly enough. The tent areas were not safe. But what was Rosalyn's advice to her husband...dependents should not be permitted to accompany their sponsors. We must all tighten our belts.
The Carters were widely despised throughout the military because of their treatment of our most vulnerable service members.

Jealousy is truly of evil. We would be in such a different place if JFK lived, if Bobby Kennedy had won, if the country would have re-elected Carter, if Al Gore had won, it Hillary had won. We would have moved forward, instead of backward. If Clinton and Obama had been able to fully serve as Democrats, instead of having to deal with GOP obstructionists. The country would look so different in so many positive ways. If we survive, it is going to take being united and the GOP is fighting like their lives depend on it.

Lumumba made the mistake of trying to help his nation fulfill its potential with its own natural resources and the 3 powers mentioned above worried they would not get those diamonds and uranium, etc, so decided to take him out. There was a famous Rolling Stone article during Carter's first campaign, I forget who by, claiming that Carter was the next JFK, before we knew all the dirt on JFK. But he was one better. He told us the hard truths, and was as honest as any politician could have been, and walked the talk. I am proud I was able to vote for him, twice. But Republicans came for him with everything blazing, because they knew how special and transformative he was. It's been, and was then, an open secret that Reagan made the hostage deal to get elected, so Carter knew. It's a good, but sad, exercise to imagine how different things would have been if Carter had won re-election. But his legacy is with us still. The climate crisis would be so much worse without him. We still practice his energy policies, at home and in offices. We no longer bleed energy on our cars and A/C. Partly due to OPEC, then our own companies, and he met that with practical policies which weren't always popular. We drove 55 for a long time, until lobbies and oil companies finally got the speed limit raised back to pre-Carter levels. He will and should have a historic legacy, but even today, the WSJ is attacking his Middle Eastern policies. Instead of say, George Bush. I imagine that article is full of the GQP's Reagan talking points they used in the campaign and drag out when they need to (get over it, already!). I love my country, but am often so ashamed of it. He has done more for the poor and disenfranchised than any president since Lincoln. And now, to find out about these horrifying backroom political deals is just tragic. Wow Mike . . . are you impervious to facts?
      1) Ford was shot at TWICE because he wouldn't play ball with the seditious power players who wanted to maintain the status quo. He announced several bank busting and trade as well as foreign objectives that promptly got him shot at twice in close succession to each other. He got the message and never ran for President.
      2) You MAY remember Regan being shot? He was definitely a target of the CIA's assassination machine that had already killed two Kennedys (Bush). All you have to do is look at Bush's behavior and the behavior of his lackeys during that time. Its clear the Bush CIA assassination gang was hard at work once again.
      3) The establishment HATES Trump - that because he opposes them successfully. He eliminated the "Threat" of North Korea, Reduced tensions against Israel, stifled the Iranian acquisition of Nuclear weapons, FORCED China to play ball in Trade, Forced Mexico and Canada to play ball with trade, Forced NATO to pony up, Destroyed ISIS, Forced the Taliban to all but completely back off, Forced the EU to play ball in trade with both food and energy, had the Saudi's eating out of his hand, reversed trends in both India and Brazil that were alienating them from the US, GREATLY reduced the drugs and Human trafficking over our southern border, reduced unemployment of minorities to the lowest levels in the country's history and unemployment in general to the second lowest numbers ever over all, only being beaten by WWII. Sound's pretty pro-American to me.
AND: It is KNOWN that the "Russia Collusion Hoax" was paid for and invented by Hillary Clinton and the DNC. This is a known fact. It is also a fact that the DNC and RINO scumbags of the Uniparty - who are all never Trumpers are all (ALL) illegally and immorally benefiting from the war in Ukraine - which would have never happened under Trump's watch and even the majority of DNC pundits agree with that assessment.
      4) Ike is the one who warned the US and Kennedy about the military industrial complex. Kennedy acting on that warning got himself and his brother assassinated. - Because Ike's warning was and still is the Truth. A truth this video serves to preserve regardless of your intention.
      Bush, Bush & Nixon . . . sure all scumbags . . .no question. That being said . . .
No President is without their skeletons. The job means you can't make everyone happy, and you have to make uncomfortable friends. Name ONE president who hasn't had to do that. If you are honest, you will find just as much dirt on ANY president as you would on Regan or Jim Carter. I have my doubts about your willingness or ability to be honest however.
Funny though that you are 100% blind to the clear treason of the Biden administration. Which is only a little less conspicuous than Obama's anti-American policies. And both of them as well as the Clintons KNOWINGLY took campaign contributions from Chinese spies / Chinese Military / Communist party members. I wonder what the Chinese purchased with those "contributions"?
That is easy to answer when you look at the Clintons. No President in the history of this country did more to prop up the communist Chinese regime than Bill Clinton. And isn't it funny that the greatest "LOSSES" of military intel and strategic locations all occurred under the Clinton, Obama and now Biden administrations?
Name even one Republican President that took campaign contributions from China. I can name at least three Democrat Presidents and at least 12 democratic candidates for President. Yet you have the BALLS to make accusations about the GOP. You are either a shitty liar Mike, or you have lost all ability to be truly objective. Even a cursory level of knowledge unwinds your position are wildly partisan.
Your selective patriotism and selective rage are both so obvious that it defies the explanation of a simple lack of self awareness. Your propaganda is clearly of that of a political activist, who is actually seditious in nature. Maybe you should surround yourself with at least a few people of politically opposed views. I think if you applied your "principles" equally, you would might have points worth listening to. However its clear that at the moment you have no ability to objectively evaluate a subject. Your conformation bias is poisoning your "Logic" and undermines any relative value this video would otherwise have.
Its too bad that your film making genius is so clearly willing to ignore facts that would impugn the DNC and GOP with equal ability. Then you MIGHT actually be able to make a film that had objectivity. The real threat to this country is the Uniparty. If you are NOT simply an apologist for the ruling class, then you would have to vastly increase your ability to be as critical of the DNC as you claim to be of the GOP.
As it stands, your work does nothing to free people from the grip of the top 1%, and sadly actually serve the failing narrative of the kind of heartless and cruel powerful people you CLAIM to oppose.

I adulted during Carter and ever since have thought he was the worst ever president - until Trump. But at least Trump did keep our economy in good shape, Carter was absolutely horrendous. My own family has done best financially under Reagan and Clinton.

Thank you for informing me about the "Extrapolations" series, Mr. Moore! I began watching it right after I heard about it, and it is gripping and scary in the very real future the series predicts! Terrifying! Episode 2 is so sad I started to tear up (the one about the humpback whale).
I am a new subscriber to this channel as of today; sorry to say I had not heard about it before! I have been a huge fan of yours since "Bowling for Columbine", etc. You are one of the few people who care to tell us the cold hard truth, and be damned where it takes you, or how much animosity it may garner. Keep doing the good hard work! Respect, man!!!

incredible your teacher would do the willful blindness to say that, when Reagan admin literally did illegally trade arms with Iran, etc. Reagan admin was by far the most technically corrupt, though Trump was in other ways, not as technical, but pushing the limits of most laws and disrespecting the spirit of laws, and of course breaking every norm of governance that this free society has developed over time.

I was born in Iran and was in my teens when the Islamic Revolution happened. After the Revolution, the first president was Banisadr who was actually a secular person. Naturally, he did not last long as president. He was only in office for some 18 months. But he held some other positions and at some point he left Iran permanently. Some years before his recent death 2 years ago, during an informal speech at some social event (most likely in the U.S.) he clearly described how Reagan not only sold weapons to Iran and prompted them to start the war with Iraq but also would not allow either of the warring sides to stop the war. According to Banisadr, after just one year both Iran and Iraq were willing to throw in the towel and make peace. But the consecutive Republican governments forced both countries to continue the war as they were selling weapons to both sides. He said that the U.S. told them that stopping the war would be a breach of contract. They forced them to continue the war for 8 years in order to get weapons. Interestingly enough, Iran did not pay the U.S. in cash but in oil.

Or how about hindering our progress on the keystone pipeline while lifting sanctions on Russia's pipeline allowing them to have a monopoly on European energy?? Do you think it's strange that the Biden family has long standing back door dealings with Ukraine and just when Biden takes the presidency Russia invades Ukraine and we start sending them millions and millions of dollars?? I'm sure as a left wing nut you probably don't see a problem with any of that.
