The last PS I really played was 2. Had 3 but barely used it bc I've been on the Xbox side then PC. Astro Bot makes me want a PS5. I even pre-ordered the controller 🤩😄 I will end up borrowing a PS5!
Plus it’s less maintenance. Someone finds a glitch for get easy money it’s becomes a 50/50 chance of patching it in single player. In multiplayer, they HAVE to fix it and then there’s also the possibility of banning people and then there’s also people who really didn’t do anything wrong and they get banned and they would have to appeal the ban and it’s all shits from there. In single player games everyone is in their own sandbox doing their shit.
So you didn't like the multiplayers in Twisted Metal, Killzone, Socom, Motorstorm, MLB The Show, Uncharted, Factions, Ghost of Tsushima Legends...etc? Keep in mind that Sony didn't make Concord but acquired the studio that did make Concord halfway into development. PlayStation's fault is that they let their studios have their own vision on what they create and without pressure of a due date. This is why we were hearing rumblings that MARVEL/Disney was forcing Insomniac's Spider-man 2018 was going to launch sooner. In the end PlayStation held their ground, but they should really check in on their studios more often then they likely do.
Been saying this for years. The CoD boys'n'Girls aside, who understandably like their PvP, can be serviced quite nicely with the occasional new Battlefield etc. The rest of us 'real gamers' (just having a lil' pop at being called a casual all the time) know what we like.
I'm fine with Sony taking a shot at making good multiplayer games. But I don't want it to be at the expense of single-player games. Those are their bread and butter.
The problem is when you see Fortnite in 2022 made around 20 billion dollars would mean that a game would need to sell around 666,666,666 million copies of a game. Good luck any game to sell that many copies at 70 bucks a pop.

It makes me laugh that people think PlayStation made the game. Concord was already 4 years in before PlayStation even bought the studio. What Sony PlayStation's fault is that they give their studios no time restrictions and they allow them artistic expression without meddling.

I'm noticing that theres this weird push by so many in the media to pigeonhole sony into doing only single player. I mean just an year ago these same people were complaining that sony only makes sp games, but since microsoft acquired Activision they want sony to do only sp games? Something doesn't add up. I wonder if there's some external motivation behind these journalists.
People weren't complaining about sony only doing single player games. People were complaining those sp games were all 3rd person action adventure games. People wanted sony to diversify their games but I don't think they meant overwatch clones.
@@stefandinu6389 Sony has always had all type of games including 3d platformers, its not new. So that argument doesn't even hold. Just because they failed with concord doesn't mean sony should only stick to single player games.
Exactly! It ain't hard to tell what these journalists are doing. Hopefully, Sony learn from their mistakes with Concord and come back stronger to revolutionize the genre with old or new IP.
@@cgt_v10 No. It's not variety to only have the same type of action games and then live-service. Sony was known for racing (Gran Turismo 8 not even in conversations), platform, adventure, JRPGs, RPGs, fighting, puzzle and weird experimental types. Look back at the PS One library and PS2. Look at what they have now. There's no comparison. They can make various types of single-player games, not just the one formula done by committee. It was getting tired fast. And Helldivers is dying, being a flash in the pan is not a good thing if it can't maintain, wasn't prepared and has community managers pushing politics and going at player base.

No, Sony do not need to stick to Single Player Games ALONE, but they do need to walk back from the Live Service/Games as a Service, or severely reduce exposure to it. There are good multiplayer games that they can do, RPG's, RTS's etc, and it does have to be said, that they ARE excellent at the storied single player adventure with gameplay to match the game. An argument can be made that many of their Single Player offerings rely too much on Story, and a lot less on gameplay.
I just said this! The problem isn’t that they need to only stick to single player, it’s they need to offer both at an acceptable rate. 1-2 online games a year to 2+ story games a year. We haven’t gotten a story game from Sony all year and that’s why we’re mad. Not that they shouldn’t do 1 over the other.
I bought Astro Bot by myself and played it for about 3 hrs now. It's pretty fun, the game style is kinda like Super Mario Odyssey and I like it. I recommend everyone to try the Astro's Playroom if you're not sure if Astro Bot is for you. The play style is close, but Astro Bot are way more fun.
Very few succeed and there are too many on the market as is. There is no place for MP games until they grow scarce again as no one has the time to play multiple, let alone several from the same company.
You were close with the title, but it's not just a lesson to Sony it's a lesson to all developers. And it's not a problem with multiplayer games per say it's these live service games loaded with tons of microtransactions is the problem. Sony was only the most recent to screw it up. Xbox would do a lot better if they abandoned this live service belief. Very few succeed just look at helldivers as an outlier how many failed recently.😅 In my head it's not a lesson that needed to be learned with all the recent bombs, but that wouldn't be evident that is the case as here we are again and again and even again
Single or multiplayer, it doesn’t matter. People just don’t want politics or social issues pushed on them in their games or other forms of media. Most of us play games as a way to escape the daily grind. How many more games, shows and movies must fail before these companies learn?
I like singel player way more then online games... But the lesson here is not to do singel player games... The lesson is to do good games with passion nit following trends.
I mis the good Ole days when you could pick up a game that had an 8 - to 10-hour campaign plus some kick ass multi-player 😢 and no microtransactions, just a fun campaign and when ur done or bored of the campaign.......some challenging multi-player. WTF happened to that
Because the gaming market is much larger vs 10 to 15 years ago. And they all want that piece of the pie. The casual audience doesn't mind spending money on cosmetics and MTX. And since game development has become so expensive these days, they need the extra revenue. Single Player games alone doesn't make them enough money these days. Unless they sell em for 150 per copy. Look at Spider-Man 2. It cost 300 mil to make, but they barely hit that target, while the First game was only 100 mil, and they sold more vs the second game.
What happened is Gen Z and Gen Alpha rarely got to know what games were like before so all the microtrans bs isn't even a negative to them. They get $$ from parents a lot of the time too and when it's not your hard-earned $ u keep opening the wallet. Hoping these kids are maturing enough the kick all that to the curb!
"Video Games done need to last for years and years or have extensive road maps that are subject to change..." CERTIFIED BANGER of a line gaming bolt! MP games can be phenomenal but variety is the spice of life!
I love this game so much already it has more charm and personality than any of the cutscenes in concord. All without any dialogue ontop of that, and considering how many people are loving this game I’m confident it’ll do well.
Games like this: single player games with fun colorful design choices design, spectacle-oriented action and combat, and comfortable platforming and puzzles have always been Playstation’s sweet spot. Their bread and butter since the early days of the PS1 and PS2 that built their brand. Games like Astro Bot, Stellar Blade, and Black Myth Wukong selling well is no surprise when you really think about what the Playstation audience is actually looking for in their exclusives. …the IPs are all there, and their ready to be tapped into. They just need talented devs and artists to bring them back to life with the original charm they were built from.
Wholeheartedly agree. And it's also Astro Bot that is proof that Sony should NEVER have let all those franchises that Astro Bot features in his game, go.
I miss when developers used to make a multiplayer add on to the single player. Concord was also Sonys first FPS exclusive since killzone shadow fall in 2011 Killzone, resistance, uncharted etc had really fun multiplayer. It also was not the only thunder the game was reliant on
Writing as a long-time Playstation fan. Single player is the main reason I own Playstation. Sony can continue to expand because they do have devs with skills to bring us good games, period. So let them fail until they get the formula right. But they should never leave what brought them to the table of success.
Nobody said they were shifting focus. They're rolling the dice in the games as a service market and they're 1 for 2 right now. The single player budget hasn't changed.
I do agree with the message in the video. However, as someone who likes to play with their partner, I would have liked to see a local multiplayer mode in Astro Bot. We played Sackboy: A Big Adventure almost exclusively local co-op and it was an absolute blast. An option to play with a partner, maybe through DLC would be fantastic.
Sony already know this hence why Jim Ryan was let go. What they should learn from this is that not every game made by PlayStation Studios needs to be a big AAA cinematic blockbuster.
He retired and The CFO literally said PlayStation needs to have more multiplayer games, hence why there are more coming. Just as there are more single player games coming.
Got the game yesterday and it’s so great! I even bought the themed controller afterwards. That being said, Ratchet and Clank should have received more love. Astro Bot and a sequel for Ratchet and Clank will keep me on the PS5 platform forever.
Ratings and critical acclaim are good and all.... but i really hope it sells as much as it deserves. "Making money" is the only thing that actually matters for big publishers to draw lessons from this amazing game.
This video is very important. I haven’t bought a live service game and never will. Honestly - modern gaming and their lack of single playing games have made me decide I’m not going to get next gen stuff - maybe gaming PC just to play classics - unless they change
Not just any kind of single player games, but specifically Japanese single player games. They are way more unique and challenging than western games especially the ones made in the US.

I agree, but I disagree. Sony is best at Single player games, but they can also make multiplayer games that are good. The problem here wasn't the fact that it was multiplayer, the problem was more so the fact that they tried to make a game based on an oversaturated genre, that being the team-based hero shooter, and the unoriginality behind it. What Sony should've done is try something different from trends.
My only gripe with this game is that there is no multiplayer options. Fun, party style multiplayer minigames in astro bot would be so good. One thing my daughter really hoped for so we could play 2 player together.
I disagree entirely. Even the former Sony head Jim Ryan acknowledged that Call of Duty financed their single player content. Just like the Physical vs Digital debate, the Single-player vs MMO, Live Service, GAAS, multiplayer, etc debate is on the wrong side of progress. Fortnite, GTA Online, Destiny, and other live service, when successful, generate far more money than one and done single-player. With single-player becoming far more expensive to develop like Sony's Spider-Man 2 at 300 million and needing to sell 7 million just to break even, it's just becoming unsustainable. Gaming is just expensive.
Multi player is the wrong side of development, single player game's are so much more fun and better in every single way. You mentioned q few game's that did well most don't.
A fragment of live-service succeed. It is not sustainable for the industry or one company to think they can focus on that and keep failing. When Fairgame$ flops, I think the lesson should sink in.
@@chriscollins550 Yes but the ones that do actually succeed end up financing their company for years to come. Single player games being fun doesn't really matter to a company if that doesn't translate into sales. And many people feel the exact opposite of you and almost primarily play multiplayer games. Sony used to have a great online game called Socom ... Socom was great! Socom still has a dedicated fan base! .... Give that some love we need 3rd person tactical shooters
The issue with online multiplayer games is that one day the servers for that game will get shut down. It’s great you best weapons and items and rank the game has to offer, but all it takes is time and the devs saying “we can’t afford to keeps theses servers running forever for this game and need to make use of it for our new game.” and boom the game no longer works for multiplayer. All of that effort and time put into the game is just a memory now. It’s even worse for games that are multiplayer only as it’s no different from streaming only games for the switch (hitman and kingdom hearts franchise) where you pay full price for a game that is not actually on the device. The dev could later down the line just shut that service off and they still keep your money.
I’ve been saying this all year long. Look I’m happy they want to experiment and try new things and their pursuit for multiplayer wasn’t a total loss. But every multiplayer game they’ve released on PS5 fails. Helldivers 2 was the best thing out of the crop of live service multiplayer games and even that fell off. They gave it a shot, and they failed. They need to go back to the single player story driven games or just plain old enjoyable platformers like the recent Astro Bot which is basically my game of the year already. The game is basically a high quality Nintendo game on PlayStation. They didn’t even have to try that hard neither, they basically covered like ten mechanics from Nintendo games and through a concept or two the switch it up a bit. I LOVE ASTRO BOT. I’m very glad it exists. Outside of final fantasy rebirth this year, I haven’t really enjoyed most of what Sony put out this year in exclusives. So I’m VERY grateful for Astrobot
We can have both, this video wasn’t needed. Helldivers 2 exists. What we really don’t need is to keep following trends and copying others, try to create unique experiences that being single player or multiplayer player.
Sony needs to have their own Multiplayer games that make money. It is risky to depend forever on games made by others like Fortnite, COD, Roblox, GTA Online etc.
That's why I was cool with new the IP (Concord) although it was failure; they can take the lessons learned and do better next time. Leaning on old IP is cool and all but I don't want Sony to become a Nintendo. Let those IPs breathe, be missed and down the road when the time is right and the game play is revolutionary drop it. If anything, Astrobot showed a plethora of Sony's IPs. I want Sony to continue to take chances on different genre of gaming, create new characters and stories.
Correct but we need some good live service games Sony could bring resistance back or killzone but is up to Sony and not us Sony needs better communication to us consumer
It’s fine if some co-op/multiplayer games are attempted, helldivers was a pretty big success even if it’s slowly falling off. And concord was simply just flawed from the beginning starting with its pricing. You can’t compete with overwatch when your cost of entry is significantly higher than the other game.
Sony competes with Xbox because it is direct competition, both companies use practically the same hardware offering and subscription services and both obtain the same target audience that buys third-party games. Competing with Nintendo, which is not even a traditional home console, offers games for different audiences with a console aimed at another audience... It would be a mistake.
@WERV2003 the market is changing, though. I agree with you if it was 2020, but moving forward, Sony has found its place, and xbox will most likely move on after this generation. They want cloud gaming and streaming services, Sony wants hardware and exclusive titles. They are competing with Nintendo in the future, not xbox. And at the price of the ps5 pro, they already lost lol
I think they should still try multiplayer games. I can easily see an astro party game, or one with a bunch of their characters from all their various IPs. I can see a PS all stars 2, you can bring back twisted metal or wipeout. God of war ascensions multiplayer was pretty cool. Maybe try something like that again. I think foamstars had potential too. I liked that game. Personally I wouldnt want any studio or developer to make just one type of game. I'd like for them to branch out and in this case I believe sony can do multiplayer but they need to actually make fun and appealing games without the usual MTX or live service shit that many people hate
Sony has always created masterful single player experiences and there's nothing wrong with that. They sell tons of consoles and it shows their fans love what they're good at creating.
I still to this day Very Often play Skyrim and Fallout 4. And God of War 2018 never gets old. Single Player worlds is everything. Rocket League and GTA online are the only online games i will touch
Astrobot is great, it's super inventive, happy and fun to play. The amount of polish on this and proves people want single player games but also, games that are just fun and bright amd happy. Realism has its place, but not EVERYTHING needs to be gritty and dark and gruff. Also, please devs, utilize the haptic feedback and trigger controls for the dualsense like they did with astrobot, I'm begging you.
Sony please more single player games!!! God I hope they get the message what gamers want! I mean they have to cuz they are losing millions. I sure hope they get it!
Well as consumers, sure but it's easier said than done like the games sony produces is massive, expensive and unsustainable so to offset those costs they need another revenue stream i.e. live service games which makes massive cash so it's not be all end all type situation like as you, a customer may not care and voice your opinions freely but even just looking at it level headedly and logically it's clear why they are doing this so anyone saying otherwise and making absurd statements like how sony is totally ending single player development and whatnot is just emotionally reacting and rather than that it needs to be analytically discussed.
We need multiplayer games. Not online live service games. We need more couch multiplayer games. Something goofy and fun for family and friends to play on the couch. Maybe something wacky and fun to use the controller.
I can’t believe they put in Dart from Legend of Dragoon in the game!! It gives me hope that maybe one day, we will see a remake of one of Sonys best selling games for the PS1
Multiplayer games have their place for sure, but it needs to have a niche unless you’re going to take on COD, Fortnight or the other heavy hitters. There can only be a smallish number of very successful multiplayer games whereas there can be many more very successful single player games.
Sony has always been late to reacting to online content. Concourd's failure really stems from them jumping on the live-service band wagon after it was on fire in a ditch. Anyone who was going to make money on the type of game they were selling have already cemented their place in the market, which is why we're seeing high profile failure after high-profile failure, because these games are designed to be time sinks and there's not enough undecided players in the market for a time sink. At most, they'll check it out before going back to complaining about Destiny, Overwatch,or Forenight full time. Only if they did something really different would they have a chance of success.
Sony needs to get back into making great single player games with addicting multiplayer online experiences. Every company wants to go about making live service and battle royal games. If you can’t make a long lasting foundation for em don’t even bother wasting developers and consumers time imo.
For me it's better if Single and Coop/Couch Multiplayer. Single player is good but what if you can play Astro Bot with friends? Double the fun. Little big planet for example.
You forgot Ratchet and Clank. There was ONE R&C game when the PS5 came out and it was FANTASTIC. We should have gotten at least one (possibly two) R&C sequels by now, not to mention a new Jak game. This is a perfect example of a company that does not want my money. Nintendo doesn't want my money, Sony doesn't want my money, and MS doesn't either. I have no idea who is running these companies but they SUCK AT THEIR JOB.
Sure Astro Bot is getting plenty of love but all the reviews and walkthrough channels say that they got a free code provided by PlayStation/Sony. So...How good are the sales for Astro Bot?
The multiplayer games sony should work on is co-op games. Helldivers is proof of that. Having a cooperative multiplayer experience in current games like Ghost of Tsushima is smart. Not everyone wants a competitive game.
I love shorter, highly polished single player experiences rather than games padded out for 30 odd plus hours for the sake of value for money. In a world where everyone is increasingly time poor less is more.
I’m not against Sony experimenting beyond their usual cinematic games. HellDivers did well and no one said they should give us more online games, so why use Concord as a metric?
Because talking about the downfall of concord and Sony should "only make" single player games gets clicks. None of the people know what is cost and what the return is.
Ideally, Sony had a back-up plan to add a campaign to Concord, but we’ll see what happens. Sony should pursue live services, Helldivers 2 is a huge success, but in a more limited fashion and with 5-8 hour campaigns as to not have a total wash out of a launch. Ratchet sold like 7M copies while the PlayStation AAA games sell like 20M+ It’s not as Black and White as this click-bait title.
You still quote Sony when they said they have no major games this year. Maybe you should consider that they were simply lying? They since have announced astrobot and Lego horizons, the ps5 pro is rumored to come out this year, you think they going to launch this with zero games? I can totally see them releasing a Miles Morales styled venom game at the ps5 pro launch
I think LittleBigPlanet balanced the whole online multiplayer thing and singleplayer perfectly. It’s really well done, and it still has a good story just like Astro. Sony, please learn from Astro Bot.
I've never been interested in any multiplayer games. I did try the tacked-on m/p for Mass Effect 3, MGS5 and LOU. They were fun for about 20 minutes, then boredom sets in. Run around killing people, die, respawn, run around killing people, die, respawn - ad infinitum. I certainly would never buy a multiplayer. I am gagging for some decent single player games that aren't Farcry, AC, COD etc.
This was the same problem with EA they said something about like "nobody cares about single player games anymore" and then God of war and Spider-Man came out and knock it out of the park proving that people still care!
Love Astro and had no interest in concord but they’re not gonna stop pursuing multiplayer and they shouldn’t tbh. Maybe don’t get wreckless with it but I’d say keep trying to diversify your portfolio. That’s what we want, no? Variety? Sony shouldn’t JUST stick to single player games in the same way they shouldn’t JUST stick to multiplayer or JUST stick to AAA cinematic games. They should try everything from A - AAAA, single/multiplayer/GAAS/LS, mobile, E for Everyone to M, indie style/like games to games that appeal to all or certain audiences, etc. And I’d like to see that variety from even Nintendo, MS, Valve and all other companies as well. Get out of your comfort zone for a bit and try things you don’t normally do.
PlayStation needs to do both, single player games to go along with their multiplayer games. I'm not saying every game should have a multiplayer add-on but majority of their franchises was built on single player and multiplayer SOCOM, KILLZONE, RESISTANCE, LAST OF US FACTIONS, even GHOST OF TASHIMA had a multiplayer component
Astro Bot is pure joy. I don't remember the last time I smiled so much while playing a game. This is something every ps5 owner should experience.
The last PS I really played was 2. Had 3 but barely used it bc I've been on the Xbox side then PC. Astro Bot makes me want a PS5. I even pre-ordered the controller 🤩😄 I will end up borrowing a PS5!
Single player games are usually better overall. Has no micro transaction bullshit, plus not everyone wants to or has the ability to play online.
Honestly Sony is better at making single player games than multiplayer.

@@randybradley4151 maybe if going day & date on PC, but then you'll have to start questioning if the console is worth it in the longrun. Well that's not the consumer's problem so hopefully they'll figure things out.
@@randybradley4151 Ratchet didn't lose money but it did take a while to become profitable. Sly by comparison is a much less popular franchise with the last game didn't even sell 1 million copies physical. And remember, this was ps3 era when physical sales were way more important than digital.
They can do both. Hell diver 2 anyone. Sometime u hit or miss .
Fair point but they already ruined it with their greed and now HD2 is struggling but a fair point nonetheless
Hd2 is dying slowly like most live service games except a few
It makes me laugh that people think PlayStation made the game. Concord was already 4 years in before PlayStation even bought the studio. What Sony PlayStation's fault is that they give their studios no time restrictions and they allow them artistic expression without meddling.
@@randybradley4151Is this really a bad thing? I think it is very very good they do that. Meanwhile cod 10 and bf 16 releases and generic appeal to the mass shooters. But creating something new is definitely not gonna happen anytime soon. The gaming community took care of that. Lets enjoy another decade of remakes, prequels and safe generic iterations.
@@lion-o-ryan2557How? They still have healthy numbers on Steam. 22k over the last 24 hours and the last month it went as high as 50k.
And diversifying means adding multiplayers games too, which sony is doing. Helldivers was successful but concord was not, its a game of hit and miss, It happens.
@@stefandinu6389Thats because 3rd person games are successful. Why fix when it ain't broke.
Elden ring is a third person open world
Rdr2 is a 3rd person open world
Gta6 will be 3rd person...They're all more successful.
Look at killzone, Resistance series..compared to 3rd person.
Much prefer single player games. Never play games online. I find open world games boring. Honestly
If Sony wants a bizilion dollars, they should just make another inFAMOUS.
Man I miss that series.
What an insightful take that I definitely haven't heard anyone else saying.
No it’s not. It’s proof that they should make a better MP game, as well as continuing their high quality SP output.
Very few succeed and there are too many on the market as is. There is no place for MP games until they grow scarce again as no one has the time to play multiple, let alone several from the same company.
A new Resistance, Twisted Metal, Killzone and War/Star Hawk would be cool
Not just single player games, but games that aren't necessarily big budget cinematic experiences. Bring back the PS1/PS2 vibes!
@@zerocal76 they will not

Concord was also Sonys first FPS exclusive since killzone shadow fall in 2011
Killzone, resistance, uncharted etc had really fun multiplayer. It also was not the only thunder the game was reliant on
LittleBigPlanet 4 would rival Minecraft and Roblox
Sony can do multiplayer games.
Their customer base just needs to hold their feet to the fire so management stops smelling their own farts.
For those people thinking. Mmm. Not sure. Bit childish for me. Don’t think like that. Quite easily. Game of the year.
Not just any kind of single player games, but specifically Japanese single player games.
They are way more unique and challenging than western games especially the ones made in the US.
He'll no! 😂 Western single player games trump japanese single player games. What if a multiplayer Astro Bot game happened? Will it succeed? Will it flop? Idk.
I concur. Back to the roots when it was fun and not exploited.
My little brother has pretty much never played a single player game but will put in countless hours on Roblox, Fortnite, GTA Online, and car racing games.
Perfect but tell me does it hurt kissing their asses that much?
@@OneRandomVictory anyone who plays multi player doesn't like gaming. Sitting there talking to other people and running around isn't gaming. Your little brother has had the wrong influence then.
How'd Sony do with Helldivers earlier in the year?
it is not a sony ip they jsut have some deal on it i migth even go to xbox in the future
@@johansvensson833Xbox is mid lil bro😂
Sony needs to have their own Multiplayer games that make money. It is risky to depend forever on games made by others like Fortnite, COD, Roblox, GTA Online etc.
That's why I was cool with new the IP (Concord) although it was failure; they can take the lessons learned and do better next time. Leaning on old IP is cool and all but I don't want Sony to become a Nintendo. Let those IPs breathe, be missed and down the road when the time is right and the game play is revolutionary drop it. If anything, Astrobot showed a plethora of Sony's IPs. I want Sony to continue to take chances on different genre of gaming, create new characters and stories.
most og the live service money that ps make are going to other companies inkl xbox
Sony needs to compete with Nintendo instead of xbox nowadays. They need more single-player games and a handheld
Facts, alot of the singleplayer games they've made over the years are definitely some of the best in gaming, just stick to that.
I remember Max Payne. That was my game in my 20s...
Yes, thisnis what we want. I hate the trend of going always on line, loot boxes, etc.
i was wondering, do people like local multiplayer or online multiplayer more?
I 💯% Agree with you sony should stick to single player games 👍
I think they should still try multiplayer games. I can easily see an astro party game, or one with a bunch of their characters from all their various IPs. I can see a PS all stars 2, you can bring back twisted metal or wipeout. God of war ascensions multiplayer was pretty cool. Maybe try something like that again. I think foamstars had potential too. I liked that game. Personally I wouldnt want any studio or developer to make just one type of game. I'd like for them to branch out and in this case I believe sony can do multiplayer but they need to actually make fun and appealing games without the usual MTX or live service shit that many people hate
Yeh we have enough p2w multiplayer games 👍
Aye bro Astro bot is fun as hell 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They can stick for whatever the Devs want to work on.
Some Devs have no interest in doing SP games, unfortunately of course.
You can do both having a single player game and do a single player game with a multiplayer option
No truer, accurate title than this one for a video in regards to Sony.
Astro bot is way much more fun than concord
Didn’t Helldivers just set all sorts of records like six months ago?
it is not a sony ip but tjey lost 90% of its players but still have aroung 22000 so
Sony needs to get back into making great single player games with addicting multiplayer online experiences.

Probably decent
flopped. sony just exaggerate marketing to avoid double blow from concord's fiasco.
If theyre gonna make multiplayer games make a new Killzone or Resistance. That Spiderman online game probably would have sold well
I’m not against Sony experimenting beyond their usual cinematic games.
Ratchet sold like 7M copies while the PlayStation AAA games sell like 20M+
It’s not as Black and White as this click-bait title.
I don’t think it’s Astro bot. Look at all the games. I like online BUT NOTHING WILL TRUMP OG SINGLE PLAYER GAMES THAT ARE WELL MADE.
I think LittleBigPlanet balanced the whole online multiplayer thing and singleplayer perfectly. It’s really well done, and it still has a good story just like Astro. Sony, please learn from Astro Bot.
We will see the sales of astrobot soon 😊. Remember ratchet and clank rift apart loss sales and sly cooper.
Don't insert identity politics in a game and it does well? Well look at that.
Bring back Warhawk, PS Allstars 2 with good netcode, KillZone, Resistance, Sly Cooper, etc etc.
This was the same problem with EA they said something about like "nobody cares about single player games anymore" and then God of war and Spider-Man came out and knock it out of the park proving that people still care!
the problem is that ea makes more from ultimate team a month than the jedi came has sold during its intire life time
Sony took a chance, that what you do in business. Gamers always complaining about not having games, no originality etc. This is why.
