its simple really, it is the greatest embodiment of the sentence "Damn, I love this anime, I wish that there was a game that perfecly encapsulates the feelings I have when I watch it and allows me to do what I'm watching!" Sure, it is not perfect, it can be better, but it is for Dragon ball what Marvel Spider Man from ps4/ps5 was for spider man as a game and entertaiment product, and that is ignoring the nostalgia factor of those wishing for a Budokai Tekaichi 4 for 17 years...
I will say this, dp battles are my favorite mode to fight in for ranked You get 15 points, and can use a wide range of the lower value characters or just 1 really good one and a decent character on the side It just feels more fun to play with more characters than be stuck with one really good character, also allows me to play more flexible and diverse, letting me adapt to players using a single really good character and making them have to try harder to adapt to my wider range of characters.
I just can’t get enough of the depth in the combat as you continue to play, and inevitably get whooped, forcing you to learn the mechanics. You could absolutely play this as a button masher, but holy crap does it REALLY shine when you start mixing up different tactics, strings, and amazing defensive techniques. This game f’n rules.

Plus that Unreal Engine 5 makes this game one of the best looking fighting games I've ever played. Its flashy, has really fast combat, and is really easy for newcomers to learn.
The last time I invested this much time into a DragonBall game was waaaay back on Budokai 3. I have been unable to put the game down. Now that I know how to perform both combos and all the different counters...i just can't stop 😅
Idk if imma buy any DLC, unless it maybe perhaps more GT villains. I am big fan of GT characters and also would like to maybe see other GT villains and characters in general that we've never gotten in ANY Dragonball game so far. Like Bio Broly!
Gameplay is fast, fun, powerful, and controls are simple enough, but there are moves that can be pulled off causing some crazy combo comebacks and beam clashes and grab, dash clashes too
Who would have thought releasing a fully made and complete game, with plenty of content which treats the source content with love, will sell alot. Madness !!!
It depends what youre looking for in this game really. The story Mode wont satisfy you that much but if you enjoy Budokai Tenkaichi 3-like combat then its perfect. Personally I dont regret buying it at all and though the story is lackluster, Im enjoying all other aspects of thsi game. The said combat really makes it feel like a proper adaptation of fighting from Dragon ball into a game and not some Stamina based combat like in XV2 or the Mugen kind from FighterZ. All in all as I had mentioned at the start, it really depends what youre looking for in this game.
Universe 6 tournament arc tho imo wasn’t that great I mean yeah it introduced the whole multi universe thing but that’s about it. Most of universe 6 is forgettable except for hit cabba and frost

I haven’t been able to sit down and play yet unfortunately, I bought the ultimate edition but unlike when I was a kid, I am working on a very demanding PhD 😅. I hope to play it atleast a few times this week though!!! Been listening to reviews and it’s overwhelmingly good! Im very excited to play 😊
Because it's the Tenkaichi 4 basically... the freedom of movement, the show-like fighting features instead of cutscenes or little 'movies' being played. The broad spectrum of playing co-op, pvp, 4vs4, etc.
One thing I like about this game compared to others in the BT series, is how it feels much more open. I feel like in the previous entries, even though you had 3D movement, it always felt kinda linear. Like, your movement almost always involved a straight line towards your opponent. Not sure this is making much semse, but in this game i just feel less boxed in.
Nostalgia is carrying this game so hard. Dont get me wrong its fun but its incredibly over rated. 66 characters are made up of 6 characters so the roster isnt 182. Every character shares the same moveset more or less, the specials are all the same more or less with a different colour. Fun but definitely not worth £70
Game is fun but ranked is toxic af already soon as you get to.B tier Master roshi spams a beam attack thats unblockable not figuertaively but literally and theres yajirobe senzu span which is actually less annoying then master roshi some how these need to be fixed asap makes it almost unplayable
Cuz it's what every videogames saga should do, if they had a peak game, they just need to bring the same back just with pretty graphics, that's all, people loves peak OG gaming, this it's another proof of it
Why is there not a single comment about the communication error being highly rated? Do not buy this game until the online has its shit sorted out. It is unplayable due to the communication error and to top off Bandai wants to punish you for the game disconnecting on you. If it keeps happening they’ll ban you from ranked online play even though you didn’t quit a single match. The game fucking FORCES you back to the room.
Fighting games arent my thing but i got early access for this. Sunce then ive started battling online and have pulled off a couple wins in ranked. This game is fun and theres alot to it, i dont see myself getting bored anytime soon. Might need a new controller after time lol
We need a definitive Edition with all content on it on Disc in a few years, and since the game only has 27 Gb for now, we can assume that this would be easily doable
It's really fun. Only complaint is that online is a mess. Needs a way to balance fights or an option like only cell saga characters. Super characters etc. If not fighting the same characters and being forced to play as only the best ones is a shame
First, it's because the devs cooked, I mean "medium rare with a perfect sear" cooked! They took everything great about budokai tenkaichi 3 and multiplied it by 1000! They've used the things learned from DB Fighterz and DBZ Kakarot, things like art direction and dramatic attacks. The soundtrack is 🔥 and really sells the battles. The sense of speed is borderline too fast, add the tactics you have to use to win, fights really feel high stakes. If there's anything I have to complain about, it's the few missing characters I'm sure we all want, plus a couple of different costumes/skins, which may come in the future anyway. I'm hoping for some Dragon ball heroes characters one day.
I really can't understand.... i'm a huge DB fan, and i played Budokai and Tenkaichi back in the days... but here i feel like the game has nothing except characters that look cool. And regardless of my love for the original material, it takes more than that to keep me engaged in a video game. The story mode is a joke, nothing close to Tenkaichi 2 or Budokai 3. It's a boring power point presentation, skipping over tons of content, with barely any voice over... The gameplay is tedious at best, controls are barely tutorialized, with no context, AI is super spammy and not progressive. And who ever thought it was a good idea to map parries on R3. I'm sincerely happy for those who loved it... but i just can't understand and i am very disappointed.
You definitely didn't play this game, this has some of the deepest combat in any tenkaichi or budokai game, the graphics are beautiful, the online is great and every character feels different. Also if you played Tenkaichi, you'd know that they never care about the story
@@Rohgamu I played an hour and half and got both bored and annoyed... Also, i loved the story mode in Tenkaichi 2. But, to each their own... i'm glad you like it, i just wish i didn't waste 100$ on it.

It’s a fantastic game with minimum to no micro transactions and it’s simple to get into you don’t need to remember millions of combos for different characters. All characters have same combos so you can play with anyone!
Great video! The only thing that I do not agree with is that you guys said this game is more beautiful dragon Ball game ever and I don't agree because fighterz is even more beautiful come on now
I think its nostalgia 1, hype 2 , 3 Gen Z not being around to play Budokai 3 and see how much it improved from 2 before Tenkaichi made it a button smasher, 4 posers that want to play what's hot
They finally listened to the fans that buy their games by modernizing the best series of fighting games they made instead throwing dung at the wall seeing if it sticks (aside from fighterz)
It’s the most fun I’ve had with a dragon ball fighter since Budokai 2. The what if’s are fine, custom battle I need to get on, but the story mode? Spoiled by Kakarot, it just pales in comparison.
@solemaniharami3963 ui choice issues, input issues (sometimes not all the time), story mode is lazy, huge connection issues online for a good portion of people and last is the camera sucks. Honestly these make it sound like I hate the game but I don't. When it works it's amazing and I love it but the game lacks some polish that's much needed. Hope this helps you decide.
People who call themselves 'gamers' are a unique breed . . . Yes, I'm a guy who enjoys playing video games, but that's not be all and end all of my life.
wrong! The online servers are thrash!! Which clearly states that the developers did not make this game for solely playing online! The bonus battle tournament and episode battles are the meat and potatoes of the game! Stop making assumptions
Not much of a sample size, but the 2 streamers I've seen one of them got stuck on that fight, so hardly trashed anyone... And the other simply said casual players might get held up, but spark mode should get through most ppl, and there is the option to lower difficulty for the rest. So yea, getting stuck on the battle doesn't make you trash, bitchin' about it does.
It's the rolce Royce of anime fighting games. XenoVerse feels cheap the combat feels cheap. When you control one of the characters in sparking you really feel the quality. @colingriffin4463 I've always imagined a game like buddakai tenkaiichi but with Pokémon
You could even ad element damage like in the anime Pikachu couldn't damage a rock type but if the rock type was submerged in water it was super effective
Fighting someone stronger and better than you helps a lot just keep rematching and you’ll catch up or learn something new
its simple really, it is the greatest embodiment of the sentence "Damn, I love this anime, I wish that there was a game that perfecly encapsulates the feelings I have when I watch it and allows me to do what I'm watching!"
Sure, it is not perfect, it can be better, but it is for Dragon ball what Marvel Spider Man from ps4/ps5 was for spider man as a game and entertaiment product, and that is ignoring the nostalgia factor of those wishing for a Budokai Tekaichi 4 for 17 years...
I will say this, dp battles are my favorite mode to fight in for ranked
You get 15 points, and can use a wide range of the lower value characters or just 1 really good one and a decent character on the side
It just feels more fun to play with more characters than be stuck with one really good character, also allows me to play more flexible and diverse, letting me adapt to players using a single really good character and making them have to try harder to adapt to my wider range of characters.
We been asking this game for a while and the developers gave us fans what we wanted this whole time!! Which is why it deserves to be very successful !
Bc its the only game in 17 years that didnt forget the fans make the company. SZ was made with 100% intent on keeping it true to the series and didnt sell out to big companies for money.
Fr theres 0% micro transactions and characters are unlocked through skill and in game currency
@@SonicTheHedgehogX15 exactly. Will there be dlc of course. Will there be a store? Maybe🤷🏻 if they wanna keep this game straight dlc and keep XV2 as the money pit im cool w that. XV2 is trash anyway😂
The roster is insane with all the fighters being very different from eachother. I never thought I’d have Dabura as one of my mains
3:09 Final Shine?
I believe “Sparking” is the original Japanese title. This is a love letter and build up of hard work done in this series
It is
It's a blast to play. I'm not even a huge dragonball fan. Watched it as a kid about 20 years ago. And I've been having so much fun with it. Plus that Unreal Engine 5 makes this game one of the best looking fighting games I've ever played. Its flashy, has really fast combat, and is really easy for newcomers to learn.
Did you say Vegeta's "Final Shine" attack?
Final shine is ssj4 vegetas attack
@@SonicTheHedgehogX15 didn't know, thanks!
If anything, bio broly would be a skin.
This game is (so far) a testament to nostalgia and leaning into aspects of past games that fans loved. Can’t wait to get good 🙃
Gameplay is fast, fun, powerful, and controls are simple enough, but there are moves that can be pulled off causing some crazy combo comebacks and beam clashes and grab, dash clashes too
Who would have thought releasing a fully made and complete game, with plenty of content which treats the source content with love, will sell alot. Madness !!!
A big part I feel alot of people aren't talking about is the Dragon Ball Super support in Sparking Zero.
Is it worth 70 dollars though? I'm still holding out. No universe 6 Arc? Incomplete storymode? $70!?
It depends what youre looking for in this game really. The story Mode wont satisfy you that much but if you enjoy Budokai Tenkaichi 3-like combat then its perfect. Personally I dont regret buying it at all and though the story is lackluster, Im enjoying all other aspects of thsi game. The said combat really makes it feel like a proper adaptation of fighting from Dragon ball into a game and not some Stamina based combat like in XV2 or the Mugen kind from FighterZ. All in all as I had mentioned at the start, it really depends what youre looking for in this game.
They have. if you reach level 20. Take note NOT EASY TO REACH LEVEL 20 😂😂😂
Universe 6 tournament arc tho imo wasn’t that great I mean yeah it introduced the whole multi universe thing but that’s about it. Most of universe 6 is forgettable except for hit cabba and frost
@@__________________________5338also I’m glad for some characters certain arcs were skipped cause I’d rather not replay the same battles with every character
Well the story isnt the main seller.. but you can recreate those fights yourself… the main point of this game is the fighting and all.. so idk get it if you eant want
A very solid game. Amazing game play. All characters unlockable just by playing the game outside of DLC characters from DAIMA and Superhero. Zero predatory micro transactions. Game is a winner.
Because it’s a game that is exactly what we wanted with nothing forced in. It’s a love letter to DB fans and we’ve waiting for YEARS
I haven’t been able to sit down and play yet unfortunately, I bought the ultimate edition but unlike when I was a kid, I am working on a very demanding PhD 😅.
NO POLITICAL BS, NO WOKE MESSAGING!!! JUST FUN ACTION PACKED GAMEPLAY!!!
Idiot.
I've had to stand up and go Super Saiyan in real life to beat some of the opponents in this game 😂
Lol true
Because we have been waiting 17 years and it was worth the wait also I don’t even like fighting games but I enjoy this one
I don’t even have it yet and I love the game :’)
Love this game, took 2 vacation days off at work to play this game so i had 5 days all together to play it i barely been sleeping .😅
In short, its fun and nothing else
We need a definitive Edition with all content on it on Disc in a few years, and since the game only has 27 Gb for now, we can assume that this would be easily doable
It has 182 Characters. Still very impressive
I’m just glad there’s not a style point at the end of the match
In my opinion easily GOTY.
Way too niche for that imo, but I'd love to see it happen.
Yea i too am disappointed a bit
@Rohgamu 😅 sounds like its you that didnt play those games man
Cause it’s fun, simple.
love it but im so tired of going against Gogeta's and MUI goku's. literally the most OP characters in ranked.
because it wasn't made by Ubisoft
Yet for honor, watch dogs, ac, riders etc are all better games 🤣
@@SteezysWorldlies
not sure about "millions" since on Steam it is only 120K concurrent at the current peak, but it does seem to be a good game for DBZ fans like myself.
*Literally coolest thing ever* "Why do people like this so much???"
Anyone else struggling to find matches online on Xbox series X?
Cannot find a single ranked or unranked match…? Looked online, seems like it might be an issue with the Devs and working on Xbox
Yeah i can't okay online at all. The room match also cannot be joined. So I focus on the custom mode only, which a lot of fun
For a moment I thought he said modern audience… thank the gaming god he meant hardware.
Because it's a gorgeous and electrifying continuation of the greatest dragon ball fighting game of all time. It's freaking Tenkaichi 4 basically
It is also officially Tenkaichi 4
I'm just waiting for the king piccolo DLC
Because it’s actually a good game
They finally listened to the fans that buy their games by modernizing the best series of fighting games they made instead throwing dung at the wall seeing if it sticks (aside from fighterz)
Jun furutani needs so much credit
It’s the most fun I’ve had with a dragon ball fighter since Budokai 2. The what if’s are fine, custom battle I need to get on, but the story mode? Spoiled by Kakarot, it just pales in comparison.
coz IGNorant gave it 7/10 for not being too woke
Nah 7/10 was fair. It has many many glaring issues.
Lmao how does this not have more likes😂
@@breakthecode4634what issues would u say? I want to buy but there is a lot of hype, a more objective opinion would be nice.
Tbh its an 8 but bc its an IGN they decided to pull out Ol reliable 7
@solemaniharami3963 ui choice issues, input issues (sometimes not all the time), story mode is lazy, huge connection issues online for a good portion of people and last is the camera sucks. Honestly these make it sound like I hate the game but I don't. When it works it's amazing and I love it but the game lacks some polish that's much needed. Hope this helps you decide.
Man I don't even buy games full price anymore, rather wait on a sale. But I HAD to pre order this shit!! 😂😂. Well worth it! 👍🏿
Because it was made for fans and gamers, not for shareholders
People who call themselves 'gamers' are a unique breed . . .
Yes, I'm a guy who enjoys playing video games, but that's not be all and end all of my life.
I love it but I never knew how slow my reaction time was until I played other ppl
wrong! The online servers are thrash!! Which clearly states that the developers did not make this game for solely playing online! The bonus battle tournament and episode battles are the meat and potatoes of the game! Stop making assumptions
But if you can’t pass the Ape Vegeta fight in 2 minutes you’re trash… according to streamers…
I literally beat him the 2nd time I tried. They are trash 😂
The combat footage kn the video here are very mild. Its better when you are fighting more quickly and intensity levels are higher. It IS addicting
The way he shit on single player u know he not a fan and this guy opinion doesn't matter
So aside from graphics, story, and create a character…. how does this game differ from xenoverse 1&2?
Has almost the Dbz movie characters forms( XenoVerse 2 is still missing Super Android 13 and Full Power Bojack).
It's the rolce Royce of anime fighting games. XenoVerse feels cheap the combat feels cheap. When you control one of the characters in sparking you really feel the quality. I'll never touch xenoverse again. You can't hit someone in that game without making them fly back and the stamina sucks. Youll see what I mean
The best thing about this game is that Americans will finally pronounce it's name right.
Is it just me or do all of the blasts look exactly the same with the same colours? Seems very repetitive like the Death Ball and Supernova look the same
i have been playing diablo iv vessel of hatred ... and i prepurchased this game. Need to play more DBSZ! Why did they release them at the same time 🤔🤔🤔
