Hi Mark I am a Guernsey girl but lived in Eldon St St Helens between 5 and 14 years of age, Olive and Arthur Hughes my mum and dad took us as a family as he worked nights at Pilks and did ok, I went to Windle Pilkington school and Rivvy rd, we played in Taylor Park and on the Kimmicks( what happened to that?) we played on the railroad line by Borough and got shouted by the driver of the train, you have given me so much pleasure watching your films keep up the good work, I am 75 now and still have cousins there great memories Many thanks Pat
Mark, thanks for your reply. I think the line on Old Ravenhead Rd. was a branch of the Liverpool to Wigan line and as such standard gauge. It ran into Ravenhead glass works and Pilks insulation on the other side and had nothing to with the Triplex light railway. I welcome your thought.
