They march so we will never forget. We owe those heroes our freedom.

This is brilliant....Love his songwriting...I dont see Anzac Day as a day to glorify war, more as a reminder that peace always comes at a price...And the futility of war, in a sense is also relected in this song...We need to always remember, as a reminder to future generations, and to honour those that gave their lives to preserve our future freedom.....Lest we forget...

I agree with your stance on war. I also agree this is a great song. I managed to see Eric perform it live in Canberra. Great performance.💕👍🦇

ANZAC day is not a celebration. Hence the somber dawn services etc. It is a time to be reminded of the high costs of war. And to honour those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. I don't know anyone that considers it a celebration.

Wow. This is probably the most haunting version of this song i have heard. ANZAC Day is not meant to celebrate or glorify war. It is a day of comemoration and to reflect on those we have lost. I can tell you as a 30 year Army veteran ANZAC Day means a lot more when you've known someone who died in war

There is evil in the world, no doubt. There are two options, give into the evil or stand against it. Having said that, it's true there is no glory in mankind fighting eachother. There is glory in the strength it takes to stand against those that would destroy our freedom of family, home and country. So there is honour to those who gave so much for their Love of family and home.

This song is post-Vietnam War peace-movement anxt. It reflects nothing of the spirit in which the ANZACs went to and fought their war to prevent the Turks and Germans from capturing the Suez Canal, thus cutting off Australia from the seat of their Empire. They were warriors, not whingers.

Australia never followed America in WWI. Australia went first, as was the case in WWll. Thats something you should already know. I feel sorry for you with the attitude you’ve displayed. ANZAC Day is the most important day on the Australian calendar and it’s not a celebration, it’s a commemoration. Get educated. And if you’re just going to spit on the graves of dead hero’s, then stop doing reactions to songs like this.

I am an ex Aussie vet who only had one deployment of active service. I cannot attend ANZAC day ceremonies due to the racist acknowledgement now forced on us and the fact everything we have ever thought we were fighting for has been dismissed, demeaned and over ridden by successive left wing Australian Governments.
