What do Leonard Cohen, Warren Zevon, David Bowie and Gord Downie have in common? They all recorded their final albums when they knew that they were terminally ill. And you could argue that their final albums were their best.

Roy's version has different lyrics and it removes the shifting-5s-and-3s rhythm in favour of the familiar Orbison bolero.

I highly recommend Skinny Puppy. Their name is a nod to animal rights. But they're not really direct in their lyrics. They're sort of bleak and dystopian. But I find it helpful because too much music is too "positive" whereas I find SP and other extreme music to be more realistic, reflecting the horrible realities of the modern world. Similarly to NIN, Dead Kennedys, Napalm Death, Ministry etc.

So disturbing but I like it. Real provocative music. It reminds me that I dated a woman whose arms, neck and face were scarred from a horrible explosion. But she recovered and was very sweet and fun. So I suppose there's not much comparison to this poor victim. But the woman I knew still suffered horrible pain and disfigurement. However she recovered and was active and happy.

Seen them live in the mid 2000's in W.A., had a beer with jay after the show, Still one of the best organic aussie bands out there!

apparently a few around Kylie advised her not to duet with Nick, for i think they were concerned about what affect it would have on her career, but to me, it's the best song she's ever done, can really hear how great a voice she has, much preferable over the more pop and disco type songs she does.

This was a masterpiece. Kuepper didn't do many covers, but this was one of them. I think it's miles above the original Kinks release from the 60s. Good song selection champ!
